Seriously guys be smart and don't even reply to this thread. Not one more word from one more dude. Don't give them the satisfaction.
Men RUNNNN!!!! It's like if she asked " Do I look fat in this??"
Cmon ladies, remember a female asked for opinions and the men are simply just answering of course not all men are going to say " I want a woman who eats as much as I do" and blah blah blah.0 -
My boyfriend has a good 70lbs on me (not muscle ) and I can outeat him any time. I demand that he find it impressive. Though perhaps if I didn't, I would't be on here!0

Guys!! IT'S A TRAP!!!
:laugh:0 -
And I'm amazed that there are guys and gals who don't understand why some of us react so strongly to the op's question and to the responses. Women have had to fight for equality... and yet we still face blatant sexism on a regular basis. Of course it's upsetting to have someone suggest that we have to fit a stereotyped roll to be attractive and desirable.
I have a near violent gut reaction to this nonsense... still. I absolutely can't stand a man who thinks it's acceptable to even hint around that I should be doing ANYTHING in a more ladylike manner... what I decide is "ladylike" and "feminine" and "acceptable"... even in regard to food, GOES.
Men who care are nothing more than *kitten* who want to push any low self-esteem button on a woman they can find. Nothing more. I don't buy into the "ladylike" eating bull****.0 -
i eat what i want, i dont care what a guy thinks lol
that being said, my boyfriend can easily pack away 3x more then me in a usual meal unless i cook/portion it for him. damn his ability to burn it all off easily0 -

Wow, guys, what's it like to have women actually care what you think of our APPETITES now?
Think about how silly this question would sound if the genders were turned around.
I can't even believe there are men who have an opinion on it too. Why would you even care, if you're already attracted to her in the first place?
My thoughts exactly!0 -
I think everyone's appetite depends on a lot of factors.... age, height, male or female, sedentary or active lifestyle.... if a woman can be healthy and chow down like her hubby, then more power to her. I don`t care if I eat more or less than my husband and neither does he. We do encourage each other to exercise and try to encourage other to make better choices....
The only thing I got to say that bothers me in regards to appetite : An overweight woman (someone I know).... goes to Mcdonalds for breakfast....and she would order....2 breakfast burritos, 1 egg sausage sandwich and 3 - 4 or those hashbrowns a large orange juice and an apple turnover and scoffle it down in one sitting.....for me that was just to much to watch. (even my hubby couldn`t eat that much).... if her heart and arteries could talk and think they would be crying. It was just a sad sight. Some people really don`t care about themselves... For whatever reason they choose to eat so poorly and so much, breaks my heart because of all the health risks that this could bring. Being overweight myself at the time, I rememeber thinking what she chose to eat was ***king crazy.0 -
I question any man's masculinity who thinks my caloric intake isn't feminine enough for them.0
-
I generally eat 2X as much as my wife, but she saves her calories for wine
She does eat 2x as many veggies as me if that is any consolation :bigsmile:0 -
Doesn't bother me,
eat away girl, enjoy your food, just hit that Gym to make up for it.
I am rather keen on gals that can actually use a knife and fork and conversation is good too....0 -
The first time I ate with the guy I'm seeing he looked over at my plate and commented on how I had kept up with him. He said it in a good way, not like it bothered him. I do tend to eat like I've been starved for days. He eats the same way.0
-
Sometimes I eat more than my boyfriend, sometimes I eat less. I have honestly never once considered that he would be examining my eating habits.
....Actually, I just called him and asked. First he said "WTF?" Then he said (I'm paraphrasing) that if I'm hungry I should eat and he could care less how much. He did mention that I packed in an extra slice of pizza than he did last weekend(jerk). He would be most annoyed if I limited my eating habits and therefore refused to make nachos for football games or didn't want to go out to eat ever because that would then be harshing on his eating habits.0 -

It doesn't matter to me. Just keep your hands away from my plate.0

This.
Although I will say I have found myself conscious of what/how much I am eating in front of men that I am interested in. Sad, really, and a sign of the world we live in.

I love a woman who eats.
Finally some sense on this thread. Who knows maybe my ability to eat is what is keeping me single lol0 -
When I used to power lift in high school, my old boyfriend and I would have 'eat offs'! I was trying to put mass on to lift more, he was trying to gain weight because he was so skinny. I always out ate him :P I think that's what made him mad, not the fact I ate a lot. Now, I eat less than my current boyfriend, mainly because he has a very physical job, he's like a bear-muscular and strong as heck underneath his warm fat, brickhouse as he describes it. The only time I can surpass his appetite is if I exercised incredibly hard that day, but he doesn't mind. Just means I can make him more good food.0

Last night while I made Tacos for dinner my husband ate peanut butter crackers then an entire bowl of Microwave popcorn. We sad down to eat our soft tacos. I had a ton of vegies on mine and some of the turkey taco meat. He looks over at me and said wow that is a lot of food. He then ate his taco (same size) and a taco salad afterwards. I could not believe it. I was having mostly veggies and a small portion of meat and cheese and he said that! So, I guess perception is everything. I still enjoyed my taco and was not stuffed afterwards. He was miserable0

Oh man, if I ate as much as my husband, I would probably die like that guy on the movie Se7en.
I worked out his calories a couple days in a row, 4K-6K a day. But if I worked out like him I wouldn't need to be on this site... lol.
Before I ever put on weight I was a runner and ate a ton, most of the guys I dated noticed I ate as much or more than them, but they seemed to think it was funny, not some sort of threat to their manhood.0 -
Gosh...I'm coming into this fight kinda late, but I'm going to throw in my two cents: I've always eaten less than my husband. Why? Because he's half a foot taller than me and he's a man. Men NEED more food than women. They have larger stomachs and they use food differently. I always serve him a LOT more food than I serve myself. Sometimes I'll get seconds, but that's rare. Sometimes he won't eat a whole lot. Neither of us (at this point of being together almost 8 years) pays attention to what the other eats. If he were in the same fitness boat as I am, I'd be concerned if he over ate on a regular basis, but he has a very physical job.
For all the women ****ting on the men for their opinions, chill the **** out. Seriously. Everyone has their own preference in a partner. Some men don't give two ****s what their partner eats, some men care. You're not with that man, so why does it matter what he thinks?0 -

Maybe its why im on this website haha but i have always had a crazy appetite even when i was at my thinnest!0

My husband and I were in a similar weight and height range before I started this & neither of us were overweight. Although he did consume several hundred more calories than I did in a day, this was mostly in juices/beers and not from our daily food intakes. Now that I am on a diet I am consuming a few hundred calories less a day and this only amounts to him eating a few more portions of fruit and granola than I do!
Gentlemen, please do not judge what we eat at the dinner table. I am very fortunate to have my husband who does not judge. I can't imagine how bad it would feel to be judged on this...0 -
Honestly, I've noticed this more and more lately. I went on a date Wednesday. I ate WAY more than he did. Then he pointed it out.
And the last guy I was dating would say things like "With the way you eat, I know you love food..."
AND the guy before that used to always talk about how I'd eat just as much as he did.
I don't think it is strange to think men think this because it is obvious they DO. I notice EVERY TIME I eat more than the man sitting across from me. It makes me feel weird because I KNOW he notices it AND is probably judging.
I don't wish it were the case, but I've seen it firsthand a lot.:grumble:0 -
im at a point now where i am trying not to see food as an enemy. so when i enjoy it, i enjoy it. and if anyone has a problem with how much i am eating, they can shove it.0
-
i couldn't care less.0

Eh, I am very conscious of whether I eat more or less than my current bf, and it can be a pain and irritates him no end at times, as he believes in just eating, food is just an energy etc. He is naturally skinny, small boned, and doesn't really eat huge amounts and has always been very, very hyperactive, lots of cycling and moving around. I don't think I eat as much as him, no, but I probably used to on some days, before I got a bit obsessed again. I think he regrets ever commenting on the size of my bum now, almost a year ago, and at a time I was not even overweight.
Having said that, he has always told me to just eat, and couldnt understand why I used to hate eating anything in front of him.
He encourages me to have more sometimes, at dinner. We cook our own meals as I don't eat meat and he eats a lot of meat and pasta and the like. I always have less calories than him at dinner, that is for sure, even if my plate seems fuller. A woman could eat several plates, and still be eating less than her boyfriend's 1 plate, simply due to different calorie contents of food.
I am almost the same height as my bf, and a bigger build, so I don't think it would be that unusual if I did eat as much as him. Plus I cycle for close to 2 hours almost everyday, so there you go. I would find it a turnoff to be with someone who expected me to not eat much, especially given I already have a history of ED issues. If a guy finds a female who eats the same as him a turnoff, maybe he better find himself someone from an eating disorder's unit...might suit him better.0 -

Guys!! IT'S A TRAP!!!
This. Christ Almighty.. It kills me how no one is allowed to have their own opinions. Someone will always have a different opinion on how they feel about something. Why must people criticize?
Honestly, if I was a guy and the girl I was dating was packing down three plates of food, I would be put off. But knowing that she is athletic and knows what her body needs would help alleviate that. Hell, even now.. My guy packs down quite a bit of food, but he's a body builder, works out religiously, and knows his body. On nights that I out-eat him, it's because he knows I worked my *kitten* off all day and I need to eat back my deficit. If I ate like him on a regular basis, -I- would be concerned, too!
Unfortunately, most of the time we see people eating a lot, we associate it with being unhealthy and gaining weight. Perhaps because the obesity rates are skyrocketing? Nine times out of ten, people are not stuffing their faces to prevent a deficit because they had incredible workouts.0
