I have a love/hate relationship with these threads.
I love them, because they give me something to do.
I hate them, because usually they're just totally idiotic.

Its a fitness website and everyone has the right to have their own goal. If you should be peeved at anything is all the forums that have nothing to do with fitness and the people who do nothing here but use it as a social website. What about those who post pics of "accomplishments" and its not what they really look like. Be peeved about that!0

Really???? You only want to lose 35 lbs...why are you on MFP????
Some people reset their ticker too because maybe they have already gotten to their first goal weight and realized that they wanted to keep going for another 5. It is non of your business, nor should you allow it to bother you.
Maybe MFP should discriminate against them because they are not trying to lose X amount of weight.0 -

That's because the last 10-5 are the hardest to lose and the amt to lose should not matter because weight is weight!!0

I get soooo annoyed seeing someone on here that wants to lose 5 pounds. REALLY?! Come on. Especially, when people are here trying to lose hundreds of pounds. I'm all about getting healthy & maintaining but a 5 pound goal?

doesn't bother me any. one day i will only have 5 lbs to go and i will still be here!! sure i am a little jealous of thinner people, but they have a right to do this as well..if they don't they will end up where i am lol.0

And I've successfully gained 12 pounds since 1/1/2012 (of 28 pounds total) on my way to a mid-term goal weight of 180 by July 2013.

When you don't make it a goal to lose the 5 pounds you've gained, you may end up with 5 more, then 5 more... and one day realize that you are 100 pounds overweight and should have done something about it sooner! Better safe than sorry!0 -

I understand where you are coming from as I had 175lbs I needed to lose just to get to my goal of 150lbs.
But, did you ever consider that some of us have been at this a long time and have already lost alot of weight and only have a few more pounds to go?
I have lost 164lbs and only need to lose 14lbs more, and these are already proving to be much harder to lose than the 164lbs I have already lost.
So, I have learned on this journey to respect everyone's goal whether big or small in number because it is ultimately (hopefully) a legitimate goal to be more hoealthy and more fit---how can that be bad?????0 -
