    thats what i thought...who isnt out trick or treatting at 11?!?!?!

    I knew a girl that wasn't ever allowed to go trick or treating because her mom was catholic and halloween is the devils holiday.:grumble:

    i was raised catholic and my parents love halloween! so that is just too stringent

    I've never been to a halloween party either, denitchy!!! my mom didn't allow us to celebrate halloween. *rolls eyes*

    I just always thought it was ironic that her mom had two daughers (15 and 3 at the time) by different men without being married to either of them but wouldn't let her girls trick or treat because it was an evil holiday.

    P.S. Not that there is anything wrong with have kids outside of marriage. It just seems strange that extra marital sex is ok but trick or treating isn't.

    I don't think that has anything to do with being catholic. I think it's because her mom was crazy... My dad was catholic and I trick or treated. DH and I are catholic and our kids trick or treat. Heck, my oldest was 15 last year and he and his friends went. Although he is tall (6 feet), and does get some comments, he still loves it.

    yup that's ezacly why i wasn't allowed to celebrate it. my family is catholic and halloween is the devil's holiday. mom's more relaxed now lol, she had good intentions but yeah....

    i'm still catholic but i think that's just stupid. i don't dress up as a witch or anything but i've studied the history of it and it's NOT the devil's holiday. it has more to do with celebrating life and death
