Hi Everyone!!:flowerforyou:
Yes, Marie, I am still walking. From Friday til Sunday I did 17.5 miles.:noway: The weather here was overcast on Fri and Sat but no rain. Barbiecat and Jake are north of me by a couple of hundred miles, and they did get some. We are working on almost 30 days with no measurable rain. Sunday, we got our sun back and I had a very pleasant 5 mile trek in the late afternoon.
I haven't been posting much, still dealing with things for my friend Linda. Her dog was being an escape artist out of the back fence, so I got some material and gave some instructions to the man who comes and does work in her house a couple of times a month, and he put everything together so Chloe, aka "the happy wanderer" will be kept in the back yard.
I am on my way to beddy bye. 4 am is still TOOOO early!!

Happy Tuesday!!
I actually have a whole day to myself, no kids, no gin card game just me and what ever I want to do. I plan on just staying home and doing nothing, probably will spend most of my day on the computer. I will exercise because I finally started again yesterday and hope to stay in the swings of things. We have plans for the zoo tomorrow so since my card game was canceled today I am not letting anyone know so they don't ask me to do something. Being selfish and loving it.
Nice hearing from you Barb and congratulations on the walking. You are committed and it is paying off.
I worried about Daisy escaping under my fence but she is growing at such rapid speed it doesn't matter anymore. She is going to be a big girl but since we love big dogs that is fine with us.
Barbie, glad you went to the doctor and got a clean bill of health. I am sure you will use common sense and not overdue until you are back to par. Your body needs to get used to this new "body" so just take it easy ok? :flowerforyou:
Marie, I am really sorry about your legs not feeling better. After all you went through we all hoped you would be running a marathon. Is there anything else the doctors can do to help your legs?
You are so motivated and try so hard to do the right things, but one of your goals is to keep the rest of focused and happy and you do that everyday. Just stay as sweet as you are, we love you for that.
Sandy0 -
Thanks Sandy. Yes I do believe Daisy is gonna be a Big girl. She is just so cute. How is her Puppy class doing. Enjoy your day at home. You need a rest.
Barbie, don't overdo it. Just take it easy. These summer colds are bad.

Good day,
We are out with the rv again, came through smoke all the way to Hope, BC, a night at Bridal Falls, church at Abbotsord , lunch with a friend there then across the border to Bellingham for a night, now at Birch Bay. Rained all day yesterday but we took the opportunity to walk at the mall, today along the ocean front and park. It's perfectly lovely and such a relief to be out of the smoke.
Will have family to visit us here from Seattle and Vancouver during the next week.
Sorry you are not able to get around, Marie. But, wow, you are really losing weight.
Barbie, hope that bug leaves you soon. When you are doing less than 4000 steps we have to know you are really under the weather!
Gayla, losing weight, having a holiday - life is good, no?
Sandy - imagine you taking a day off. Glad to hear you do once in a while.
Barb - I can't believe how much you walk, that's terrific, and has to contribute greatly to your health.
Talk to you all soon. Nice to have wifi AND an ocean view!!
Ellen0 -
Good day to you Ellen. Just get in you motor home and take off. That's the wy to live. But soon it will be too cold and icy for that.
I can get around OK but not any great distant. This caveman diet is really working. And I like it. Simply and easy. For breakfast and lunch I am having Jay Robb's protein shake and for supper a regular healthy meal. No bread, sugar, flour, potatoes or pasta. no corn beans , peas everything starchy. My goal this week is to lose 2 lbs. Have a nice time. ......Marie0 -
:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
This has been another "take it easy" day. No line dance and I resisted going to the dog park or going for a walk. I did ride the exercise bike a few times for about ten minutes each time. Jake played golf and I had a friend over for tea and two hours of conversation. I had lunch by myself and then took a two hour nap while Jake cut the grass. I want to be OK for line dance tomorrow.
:flowerforyou: Ellen, it's good to hear from you on your RV trip to Washington. Glad you finally got out of the smoke. How nice that you'll get to see family.
:flowerforyou: Sandy--your day sounds great. Daisy will love having you around with her. How big do you think she will be when she is grown?
:flowerforyou: Marie, your new diet has a lot of similarities to ours. It worked well for us so I hope it works well for you.
:flowerforyou: Barb, with my days of rest I am so envious of all your walking. It is such an act of discipline to stay home. Your friend is so lucky to have you. I'm glad to hear you are getting some sleep.
I just realized that one of the worst things about being so inactive is that I have to be extra careful about what I eat because I'm not burning off the calories like I'm used to.
hugs to all and drink your water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
Barbie0 -
HI Everyone:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
:flowerforyou: Ellen,
So glad you have the option of escaping the smoke. I envy you. Birch Bay is wonderful, rain or shine, and of course Wi Fi is an added bonus:bigsmile: Speaking of rain, I guess the weatherman didn't want us to miss out. It showed up here this afternoon. I think our dry days streak made it to 27 or 28 days. The record is 41 days, so were not very close to any record.
When you say you walked the mall, I assume you mean Bellis Faire (not sure about the spelling). It is hard to believe that when they had flooding in that area, as I recall part of the mall area was flooded.
Your being in that area reminded me of the many trips I have made between my Vancouver (WA) and your Vancouver (BC) since I have family in BC. One year my mom and I were returning from a visit and at about Mt Vernon, I almost ran off I-5 doing a double take. There were about 15 - 20 hot air balloons aloft in the vicinity of the I-5 corridor:noway: --NOT a common sight, I can assure you.!!
We actually left the highway and followed one of them to its landing point. I had a new camera and took some amazing pictures. I will have to find them and get them scanned onto my pc someday. It was an amazing sunny day, and definitely the most interesting north-south drive I ever made thus far.
You mentioned having family coming from Seattle and Vancouver, did you mean BC or WA?
:flowerforyou: Barbie--
I hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean about being hard to be inactive. If I go more than a day without walking now I get sort of "antsy" and you are right about it being harder to eat, since there are no exercise calories to work with. I was going to go out for an hour today, and since YESTERDAY they were telling us, maybe a sprinkle in Longview but no further south, it never occurred to me that it might rain this afternoon and evening. I should have gone out early in the day when the sun was still out, but I took my nap instead:yawn: The good new is, I didn't feel like sleeping the afternoon away at work, so I guess it wasn't all bad:laugh:
:flowerforyou: Sandy --
Your day to yourself sounded wonderful. I tried to do that last Friday with taking the morning off, but it kind of fell flat by the afternoon, so I am glad you were better at planning than I was!!
Marie,
Good luck with your "caveman diet" Hopefully, it will help you achieve your goals.
Well, it is after 9p and as I always say 4 am comes TOOO early:yawn:
G'night all.
Barb0 -
Good Morning
My day was wonderful, I didn't shower until after noon and was able to catch up with some of the computer stuff I wanted to get done. I took Daisy for a walk to the neighborhood park to tire her out but that is not an easy task. She is still a pup and is still in the wild baby state. Barb, I think she will probably be 90 pounds easy if not more. She has long legs and is growing so fast, we got her at 15.6 and she now weighs 22 as of last week.
Glad those of you out on the road are having a good time, stay safe. Barbie, please don't push yourself, you will only relapse if you over due it. :noway:
Marie, just take your time walking what's the hurry anyway??? Daisy does well in her puppy classes, but she is still a puppy and a trouble maker. We love her!!!!

Hi, again from Birch Bay. Lovely here. Had an early morning walk along the ocean with Seattle's Best rest stop [coffee break, that is].
Barb - Yes, we walked Bellis Fair, nostalgic of when we lived in the Lower Mainland and often came across to Bellingham. Family are in Van, BC and Seattle, WA.
That chili sounds good, Marie. Yes, love the rv life, but always good to get back home.
Barbie, how are you today?
I guess Gayla is off to Edmonton.
Have a good day all.

My health continues to improve but I continue to take it easier than usual. I got to bed early and slept late so I was full of energy to go to line dance. After lunch I took the dogs to the dog park for a short time and then took it easy for the rest of the day. Jake is at a meeting with a client so I'm home with the dogs, the computer, and the TV. I am resisting my impulse to go for a walk with the remaining two hours of daylight.
:flowerforyou: Barb, I am so glad you got some much needed rest. You are as bad as I am about overdoing it.
:flowerforyou: Sandy, it looks like Daisy will be at least twice as big as my dogs. You'd better get your fill of lap dog time while it is still possible. Sasha who weighs 37 pounds has been trying to get in my lap while I'm at the computer. She would like me to go sit on the couch and watch TV with her.
:flowerforyou: Marie, your chili sounds good. I can try making it with ground turkey since we don't eat beef and fake salt.
:flowerforyou: Ellen, thanks for sharing about Birch Bay. We haven't been there yet, but we'll add it to our wish list. How long will you be on your trip? I hope the smoke it gone before you have to head home.
:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: Now I have four more glasses of water to drink before I can watch TV.
hugs,

I am glad to see you are on the mend, Barbie:flowerforyou: I took that walk you wanted to go on, and did it with two little pests. My babies started out on a walk tonight and when we got to the point where we usually turn around, which makes it about a 1.5 mile round trip, Mai Li kept right on truckin' like "the Little Engine that Could" and she did--all the way to Linda's house, which means our round trip became 3 miles.
After arriving, I let Mai Li hang out with Linda and relax a bit while Pepper and I took Chloe, Linda's Shih tzu (and Pepper's mate when they both lived with my friend Jenna) and we went for a quick walk around the park near Linda's house. It was Chloe's second trip to the park today. Linda felt well enough to walk over there earlier today. Unfortunately, the weatherman lied to us about whether there was any more rain lurking about.:grumble: Despite the nice sunshine that was out when I got off work at 10 am, when I woke up from my nap and got ready to go back to work, it was pouring. Unfortunately, it started while Linda and Chloe were in the park, so they both got a rainwater rinse in their hair:drinker: :drinker:
We came back home and doggies enthusiastically devoured their dinner, and I sat down to log the rest of my day and ended up here.
Barbie, you and Jake will LOVE Birch Bay!! I hope you get there before the summer is over.
BTW, if you drink 4 glasses of water and try to watch tv, I hope you have a tv in the powder room or have TIVO or DVR so you can pause your program!!! I don't know about you, but when I drink that much water at once, I am living proof that "ya don't BUY water, ya RENT it" if you know what I mean. That is a saying usually reserved for beer, but it does apply!!!
Sandy, I can't imagine having a dog too big for my lap. As I have said before, Pepper thinks he is the only "laptop" that momma needs. If he was a big galoot, I can't imagine what I would do if he decided to behave the same way!!!
By the way, on a more serious tone, Heather I am SOO sorry to hear about your Elvis.  Before I became a "doggie person" I had cats, and one of my Siamese lived to be 22 years old. Even though we knew she was getting up there, it was still very hard to let her go when the time came. And I still shed an occasional tear when I think of my sweet Dreyfus, the grey Shih tzu in my ticker. Next Saturday it will be one year since I lost him to cancer.
I still have his ashes in my bedroom. I just can't bring myself to make that trip to the Long Beach Peninsula to scatter them on his favorite beach. Maybe I will be able to do it after Labor Day......
Well it is getting to be that time again. 4 am is still 4 am. :grumble: Good night all:yawn:
Barb0 -
Good Morning,
We had a full day yesterday. We took five kids, two four year olds and three teenagers, to the zoo from about 1:30 until closing at 6:00, then headed over to Ed Debevics where the waiter and waitresses spend all their time insulting you and throwing things (like paper hats and straws) and then performing a 50's type dance on a little stage. The kids had a great time and by the time we took everyone home it was after 9pm. Today I have a meeting and tonight puppy school. Tomorrow we plan to take the same bunch of kids plus two more to a wave pool and that will be the end of our entertaining kids since the little one's mother will return from her trip. I imagine we will still keep doing things with my little grand daughter just not so often.
Barb, my husband and I love big dogs, this is our fourth Old English we had them in pairs of two before Freeway. Daisy is already getting to big for a lap dog but she still does it so far. They are so playful and funny to watch and having a girl this time, I think she will be very loveable.
Ellen, it sounds like you are having a good trip. I wish my husband liked to travel but I do most of my traveling alone visiting kids or going to dance competitions. He prefers to stay home and doesn't mind me going alone, although I would love him to be with me. :ohwell:
Marie, hope all is well with you. When we don't hear from you bright and early I get concerned.
Be sure to check in soon. :flowerforyou:
Have a Great Thursday!!
Sandy0 -
I'm here Sandy. Nothing much to say. I am still on my caveman diet. It is just a plain old eating clean diet. and I love it so far. Missing some of you other folks. Be sure to get in touch with us when you all get back in town.
Bsarbie here is what I am hving tomorrow night

A quick Hi to everyone. We got back from Edmonton this afternoon. We stayed in a very nice hotel, nice bed, lovely shower, very quiet -- what more could you ask? We didn't do a lot, did a lot of driving around checking out how things have changed over the last year and of course we spent a lot of time in the mall. I swear I walked miles, wish I had taken my pedometer. My legs ached mid-way through the day but after a rest we were ready to go again. I bought little, a few things for Neil but had fun and that was the main thing. I think I ate relatively ok, did have a little bit of chocolate so hoping the walk helped with that.
I had the start of a cold before I left home and it seems to have settled in my sinuses and def. worse at night. If it isn't better soon I will see my Dr. but hope it just passes through and hope the other two don't pick it up.
I need to check my email before I make dinner but did want to say hello. Glad you are recuperating Barbie.
Be back soon. Keep smiling. Gayla0 -
Hi Gayla, glad you made it back and did have a good time.
Marie, hope your legs are feeling better by now. maybe the few pounds this week will make a big difference, the caveman plan sounds good.
I'm not really down much, maybe a half pound, but I didn't expect much this week. we may only be home for tonight, and leave tomorrow. I have a dr. appt in the morning, then we will see.
so I'm rushing thru things, getting laundry, watering, etc. done, fasting after midnight too.
take care, see ya next week.0 -
Hi all,
I know I have been MIA for almost a month...but then this is the first week in that month we have had anytime off and havent had to work 18 hour days.
I should be back in the states in october for obvious reasons I can not tell you exaclty when but when I am home...y'all will definately know.
They are telling us that the elections are coming soon and we should expect more attacks and so on...we shall see. I know there have been a lot of wounded flying in and out of the base I am on and its heart breaking to see.
Other than that things here are good I am running again and nothing fits (could have done with out almost getting hit while running on the side walk... me vs car wasnt working well in my favor)...I am all about the nothing fits part I am not sure if the food is getting better or I have just learned what to eat and what to just pass on but things are good. We have built 3 buildings from the ground up since getting here...If the ratty ol scale in the gym is correct I am down 38lbs in the last 4 months.
I hope everyone is doing fine I will try and be on more... I say that everytime but since the work hours are getting better I am going to actually have free time...
Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer
Beth0 -
Wonderful to hear from you Beth and so happy you finally get a lighter work load. How wonderful that you will be coming home in October, I do hope it is for good. You scared me at first about your run when you said almost getting hit while running, my mind first went to combat, but a car is just as dangerous.
Keep safe and will keep you in my prayers. Thank you again for serving and protecting us.
Phoebe, welcome back for one day and stay safe on your next trip. Hope all goes well at the doctors today.
It is going to be another hot day so we plan on taking all the kids to a wave pool. Should be fun day.
Have a wonderful Friday.
Sandy0 -
Oh I need to do some catch up.
Nice to see Phoebe drop in on a short stay at home. Be looking forward to her being home longer next time.
gayla, Glad you had a good time on your trip. Know you are glad to be back in your bed again.
Beth, So great to hear from you. I too will be looking forward to you for coming home. take care. Where will you go when you do get to come home?
Sandy. Our fun loving gal.
Barbie and Barbs keep on a walking. My walk last night was a nice one. Less pain than I have had in a long time. So I am getting better.
May have to get a posses out looking for Jeffrey. Missed that guy.
Have a nice day0 -
Hi Everybody,:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
:flowerforyou: Barb, we have the ashes from our beloved Shilo, the Golden Retriever. She was the first dog Jake and I had together and she was his best friend. She died of cancer three years ago. We have her ashes in two containers---one on the mantle at home and one in the motorhome because she loved to travel. Our beloved pets never really leave us. *************yes, we have TIVO and a house with two bathrooms. I have to be careful when scheduling my walks because there are no potty stops along the way. Perhaps you've heard the story about the woman who went into a bar and ordered scotch with a drop of water and when asked why, she told them that she'd knew she could hold her scotch but she wasn't so sure about the water.
:flowerforyou: Sandy, you are the busiest grandma I know. You do such fun things with your grandkids. We like big dogs but have never had one as big as your Daisy will be. I enjoy meeting lots of large dogs at the dog park and Sasha is getting braver about playing with the big ones.
:flowerforyou: Gayla, I'm glad your trip to Edmonton went well. I like staying in hotels, they make me feel pampered. I'm like you, I like to shop but I don't buy much.
:flowerforyou: Phoebe, I'm glad you checked in. Be safe and have fun on your next journey. Just because it's work, doesn't mean it can't be fun, too.
:flowerforyou: Beth, it's good to hear from you and to hear that you've accomplished some good things. October is just around the corner. How great that you'll be coming home.
:flowerforyou: Marie, I'm glad to hear that you have been able to do some more walking. You know what the tortoise said, "Slow and steady wins the race"
Today marks seven months since I started this weight loss journey so I weighed myself this morning and am happy to report the loss of another pound so now it's a total of 50 pounds. Now I'm off to line dance.
hugs
Barbie0 -
Wow 50 lbs. Barbiecat. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY FOR YOU.
:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

Hi everyone! It has been a low key day for me today as I try to shake this cold. My body seems to be craving sleep today.
Beth -- So great to hear from you. Congrats on your wonderful loss.
Phoebe -- I hope the Dr. appt. went well. Have a safe trip.
Marie -- So glad that your legs felt a bit better today. I know you must feel frustrated but sometimes time is the best healer.
Barbie -- Way to go on 50 pounds!! Awesome job! Hope you are feeling better.
Sandy -- Hope you had fun at the wave pool.
Wishing everyone else a great day. Keep smiling. Gayla0 -
Barbie..........hip hip hooray!! Hip Hip Hooray!! 50 pounds!!! Way to Go!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
In 7 months no less, that is amazing!!! Took me 7 months to lose 15 pounds.
Gayla, hope you are feeling better soon, just take it easy and get some needed rest. :flowerforyou:
Marie, glad you had a good walk, I like Barbie's saying, so take it slow and easy.
Had a great time at the wave pool today. It was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed themselves.
After I made dinner I took Daisy for a walk because she was so full of energy I had to burn some off.
I must admit I am really tired, it was non stop two weeks and I am looking forward to some alone time.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Sandy0 -
Hello guys., Jerry is sweeping and mopping the floors and I am trying to stay out of the way. He got Sammy outside out of the way.
My caveman diet is coming along pretty good. Tues is Weigh in day. I made a comitment with the girls on the low carbers thread. That I would not do any nibbling this weekend.. We are calling this a no cheat weekend for us. See how we do.
Marie0 -
Good morning everyone in Pacific Mtn or Central Time, Good Afternoon to everyone else:bigsmile:
I am preparing to take the doggies out for a walk and then myself. No long treks for me today as I need to have the energy to walk around our county fair this afternoon. A friend and her husband got tickets in advance and then he got called to work, so I am using his ticket.
I had a wonderful dinner last night at a seafood restaurant, and even though it included 1/2 a dessert and one vodka martini, I didn't gain an ounce!!:drinker: For me that is an accomplishment. My metabolism used to be so lethargic that a dinner of this magnitude would have put me up 2-3 lbs easily.
Hope everyone is doing well. Marie that waterfall picture you have on your avatar reminds me of all the pounds just slowly running away, step by step. :flowerforyou:
When Jerry is finished doing your floors, pack him up in a comfortable shipping container and send him to my house, OK?  Just kidding, but floor cleaning is one thing I HATE to do.:grumble: It ranks right up there with refrigerator cleaning and root canals!!!
I am off to drink some water :drinker: and have a protein bar for breakfast before I hit the sidewalk with my doggies.
Barb
PS. Although I already acknowledged her accomplishment on another thread, it is worth saying again, CONGRATS!!!:drinker: :drinker: to Barbicat for her 50 lbs of accomplishment. That is an amazing loss in 7 months. I don't think I will equal it, but I can certainly use it for inspiration!!!0 -
Barbs----That waterfall is a picture that Gayla sent me when they were on vacation in Canada. I just love it.Thanks Gayla. Hope you don't mind me using it. I am ansious for Tues. to get here to WI.

:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
I have some extra time because Jake did the dishes
Last night was the memorial/celebration of life for the darling girl who groomed and cared for our dogs. She died in June from complications related to cystic fibrosis. Her sisters (aged 15 and 17) planned most of the program including a song that they wrote and performed together and a 20 minute slide presentation with music of photos of their sister's life. Calling the evening emotional would be an understatement.
There was a potuck following the program. We ate dinner before we went because I was pretty sure that there would be nothing there that we could eat.......I was right----pizza, lasagna, rigatoni, sweet breads, and huge sheet cakes were the major players on the food table. I brought a huge salad with romaine, spinach, peppers, cucumbers, and sweet onions. Realizing that I still had 400 exercise calories left, I ate two big plates of my salad with some cherry tomatoes that were garnish on a plat of sandwiches and came home feeling OK.
This was the first morning in over a week that we didn't have someplace to go so we drove to a new parking area along the trail and walked for 80 minutes. We found that the trail goes through the camping area at the state park where there are rest rooms so now we know that we can go farther next time. My walks are slowed down by the need to find a rest room much more than by fatigue or dehydration.
Now that the dishes are done, the dogs think it's time to go to the dog park and they are right.
Hope you're having a great day.
Barbie0 -
Good morning, Making my apearence for today.
We are having problems today. Our hot water heater and our A/c both went out yesterday. My husband got to work on both of them. We went and bought a new heater last night. And on the a/c Jerry will have to replace a bunch of wires. He said it look like it overheated. I was going to cook a pork loin but not in this house.
I am doing fine on my caveman diet. We have a challenge going on this week end, No Cheat Weekend. So far I have made it just fine. I did have a low bllod sugar last night but insead of cookies or crakers , or candy i had a serving of brocoli and cauliflower and it work just fine. Will wonders never ceased. I love the Jay Robb's shakes
Hope this fine you all soing fine and have a nice day.

Hi from rainy and cold Saskatchewan. We have even thought about turning the heat on it is so cool. Except for a few very hot days I think it may be the coldest summer in a very long time. Just wondering what has happened to global warming. It just feels like a lazy rainy day. I watched the Rogers Cup Tennis final today. It was a long one in very hot and humid Montreal. Nice to see Great Britain get a win.
My cold is not getting better and not getting worse. I had a very hot shower this morning trying to clear out the sinuses. I have been drinking lots of green tea. Time to switch it up to the decaf. or I will be up all night.
I don't think I have mentioned my sciatica and knee for awhile. I can't tell you how much better they feel. I have been consistent with the exercise and it has really helped. I can almost run up the stairs again. One exercise causes me pain for several days following (on the ball) so my physio. told me not to do in on the sore knee leg. Dave was sure it was a no pain,no gain situation but she says NO. Kind of glad although I didn't mind doing that exercise as it was kind of fun and didn't hurt while doing it. I thought all the walking might not be a good thing but it didn't seem to have hurt at all SO, as soon as the rain stops and the cold goes away I will do daily walking.
Marie -- Feel free to use any pictures I have sent you. The waterfall picture is from a wonderful place just out of Edmonton, Devon Gardens. It is so peaceful and kept so wonderfully. I have been a couple of times in different seasons and would love to go again.
Glad you are enjoying your diet, that is an important part of success for sure.
Barbie -- It is always so sad to go to a memorial service for a young person. That is the difficult part of my job. I have been to too many funerals for children. Do people make comments to you about bringing your own food to a luncheon? Good for you for not letting it matter if they do. I am not sure I could do that. I have eaten before or waited until after but never had enough nerve to just take my own lunch. You set a good example for the rest of us.
Barb -- I am right there with you on hating housework. I hate all of it and really miss having a cleaning girl come in. When Dave retired we decided we could manage without her. That was a terrible mistake.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday. I should get my dinner pulled together. I am planning a Mexican Lasagna and I am not sure if I have everything I need.
Keep smiling. Gayla0 -
Hi, from BC again.
Just to bring you uptodate on the fire situation, we had a great rain on Friday and all the evacuees were allowed back home, the air is clear and fresh and now the sun is shining again, the temp just comfortable. Thank the Lord.
I wasn't really ready to come home from the coast yet, but an old friend passed away and we wanted to be here for the funeral. Then more family are coming for a weeks visit, 2 granddaughters ages 15 and 16. Cousins. They love camping so maybe we'll take them out to the lake for a few days if the weather holds.
Food wise I seem to be just holding my own, not losing but also not gaining even with the holidays.
HOpe you are feeling better Gayla, glad you had a good holiday.
How's your 'Caveman', Marie. sounds very restrictive, but I guess good for a short term?
Barbie, you are amazing as you stick to your strict diet too. and congratulations on 50 lbs lost.
Barb, your fish dinner sounded great. We went to a Fish House in Bend, OR - maybe it was MacGrath's?
It is one of the best places I have been to have tasty fish without huge caloric content.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
