The awkward moment at the restroom/locker room

OP deactivated. It's just boobies and vasheenas, people. Get over it.
You have got to be kidding me??? Over this? Wow.
Maybe someone sent her a nude pic and she had to throw away her computer.0 -
I remember when I used to work for the YMCA, they give employee free gym membership. Anyways I remember seeing woman walking around naked, no towel or anything. The 1st time it shocked me. I scared my eye's seeing a woman 3 times as big as me sitting naked in the locker room hot tub. So, gross!!! I would never do that0
-
I don't walk around or anything, but the work bra needs to go off and the sports bra needs to go on. Naked is gonna happen. I also will lift my shirt in front of the sink to put my chest strap of my HRM on after I wet it.
I apologize to anyone who is offended by my boobs.0 -
Just my 2 cents. I have been a member of a few gyms in my lifetime and in all cases I have seen women disrobe and change. I myself do it when I go. I swim and shower when I am done. I come back to my locker and get dressed. I don't think it's a big deal and no one else should. I see women getting ready in front of the mirrors with just a towel on. I don't care. We are all human and very similar and have the same bits and pieces. The fact that you were "disgusted" by it speaks of yourself and your own issues with your body. Maybe when you go to the gym next time just don't plan on using the locker room so you won't be grossed out by us who have a bit more confidence in ourselves and the other women at the gym.0

I'm new to this whole gym thing, but anyway, when I was given a tour there was a nekkid woman in there. Nekkid. I don't give an eff.
I wish I had the ovarian fortitude to walk around nekkid!0 -
Lol it's a locker room. That's where I change my clothes. And yes that includes being naked for a little bit.0

I think you all were a bit too harsh on her. She deactivated her account!
This is MFP!!!!!! Not for the faint of heart or easily butt hurt.

Its no big deal really. I guess the entique though is to keep the length of time that your are naked to the barest minimum (no pun intended). Oh and blow drying ones pubes with the hair dryer....not cool.0
-
No offence, but get over it!0
-
This post is silly. "OMG the craziest thing happened today. I went to a locker room, and I saw someone NAKED!! :-o"
I could understand the concern if it was at, say, the grocery store.0 -

I think that would actually be quite warm.....0 -
I can totally empathize with OP.
I was at the post office today and someone licked an envelope. I mean they stuck their tongue out and actually licked it.
What the hell's the world coming to?
    :laugh:0 -
i personally don't feel comfortable being completely naked in the locker room so i usually change in a stall or corner. it doesn't bother me that other ladies do it though. it is kind of funny because now when i see certain regular gym goers around town i realize that i know what they look like naked0
-
:noway: ok so i am new to this gym and i went to the restroom/ locker i was washing my face and when i look up all i saw was this women take all of her clothes of right in front of me and i honestly didn't know how to react, i guess i just couldn't believe that just happened.
I completely agree. Okay, I kinda get stripping down to change if that is your thing (I just turn away from the crowd and wrap a towel around before I get naked), but my pet peeve is when people do their hair naked, or makeup, or just loiter around naked. But at least a bra and undies on.please explain how this is an issue? a few pieces of nylon fabric aren't going to change anything that comes off their body. and when they're in the water you don't see anything, and I doubt you'd be touching them either way.
If I saw someone using the hot tub naked I would be soooooooo grossed out.
Seriously. Nothing could ever change my mind on this.
Besides, my gym has a rule that you must have a suit on - thank God!0 -

LMAO - ovarian fortitude - I love it.
My other half and I have had this discussion a few times. I have never played sports. I don't ever recall showering after gym class in school. He, on the other hand, has always been involved in sports. I keep telling him I don't understand how the guys all shower together naked,. I am not bothered by others, but I am the hide in the stall and change type myself (but getting better). Its just something I have never done. I envy those who are comfortable enough to do it.0 -

I'm the same way. I never played a sport and we only showered after swimming in gym, which happened one week every year for four years - and we would just shower in our suits and change in private stalls. I don't get how people can just be naked at the gym and be fine with it. Honestly, I'm a bit prude when it comes to stuff like that. I don't know if it's because I never had that experience or what. Personally, I change under a towel, and if it's really busy I'll use the changing stalls. I dislike all the naked people in the locker room! I want to say "at least wear a towel." But I know I'm in the minority so I just bite my tongue and text my sister "you'll never guess what i saw in the locker room at the gym today!"0 -
Imagine being in the locker room full of naked women shaving their legs...in all the contortions we go into in order to shave everything.
This happened to me when I was 18 and had left home, lol. I was shocked for about five minutes then I got over it. Such is life.0 -
I didn't read all the responses. But isn't that what the locker room is for? Changing? I'm so confused!0

Yea I guess it would also make them all nice and fluffy....0 -
How the hell are you meant to get your genitals clean if you shower while wearing clothes or a swimsuit, YUK!
Thank *kitten* I'm European and not utterly freaked out at the sight of a naked body (that isn't in a porn film!)
American here. I've never seen anyone shower in clothing in the gym showers. Most of us do not freak out about naked people in the locker rooms either.
There have been quite a few threads on this subject, and it is far from uncommon for women to say that they always shower with their swimsuits on. These women tend to be from America rather than from Europe, obviously there must also be a majority who don't do daft things like that in the fear of being "seen" but I definitely get the impression that nakedness is far more of an issue in North America.I don't ever recall showering after gym class in school.
We had to shower after every session, in communal showers, they used to be standard in British schools and probably still are. I used to hate it, simply because they were always freezing cold!
Perhaps that's why Brits tend not to see nakedness per se as necessarily being evil.0 -
Its a freakin' locker room!
That's what locker rooms are for.0 -
Many gyms have a privacy area for people who are not comfortable undressing in front of others or for those who don't want to see everyone else undressing. You may want to check for this space at your own gym. Good luck!
This. Seriously you need to get a grip. It's a public gym, a public LOCKER room and people are THERE to get undressed and to shower after their workout. No one is there to look at your body so avert your eyes if it bothers you that much. If you are offended, why? she was doing what she was supposed to do in that space. I for one do NOT take all my clothes into the shower and then disrobe, sorry sister. My thoughts? You don't like what you see, don't look. We're all there to make our bodies better, not be judged or made to feel badly.
Find a private area if you are that uncomfortable....or, shower at home.
well said.....:laugh:0 -

I have always played in sports teams live for the shower afterwards its where the best banter is0 -
Quit it now.. it was a troll0

The day I find a way to get from gym kit to shower to towel-dry and back in street clothes without getting naked I shall forever cover my shameful nakedness! Honestly, gym regulars just get on with it and neither look nor notice, even carrying out conversations and hopping on the scale in out birthday suits.0
-
Some members appear to be from other countries, not familiar with "being in the buff" in locker rooms. It took me a while to get comfortable changing........0
-
I'm studying in Europe at the moment (I'm from Australia), and the girls all shower together after games of organised sport at the gym, someone told me they chant as well sometimes haha. If they're comfortable, who cares? Society has just taught us that nudity = bad when really it's completely natural. In saying all this, sometimes I can't help but laugh when there's an *kitten* in my face. Maturity at it's finest!0
-
I totally get you're feeling awkward. When I would take showers at the gym I always got naked in the shower and had a towel around me when I walked into the changing area. I just thought it was more considerate than being naked in front of complete strangers. Yes a locker room is where people get naked but do I really want to see your butt crack? Try to look the other way and don't let it stop you from going to the gym.0
-
Haha i know how you feel. I would never get completely naked in the gym changing room no matter how comfortable i felt with my body because i know it makes me uncomfortable when others do it. What i really hate is when they are chatting to you and then boom! All their clothes come off and it's like... WOAH so uncomfortable!0
