Do I have to eat veggies with my breakfast??  j/k

Loathesome- It is awesome that you quit drinking. I know it can be a tough thing to do because it is such a social thing. It will really help you lose weight as well as just feel better. :flowerforyou:

i agree with the veggies at every meal, even breakfast, you can have tomatoes on toast...so yummy! and breakfasty, or tomatos fried up with eggs. i love tomatoes!!!

one of the days, no refined sugars

 I was thinking I would try a savory oatmeal, add a little feta, wilted spinach, and tomato instead of coconut oil and fruit. what do you think?

ladies this is a little off topic, but i wanted to share this with all of you!

check it out, you don't need to agree or disagree,
  • Hi all,

I've been reading but not posting much. I'm back at work and trying to catch up on emails and this board, lol.

I vote for high heels with the purchase of new clothes but going naked with shoes is all good. (TMI Alert: I am only wearing shoes in my profile pic. )

I am at a crossroad right now. Not sure sure if I want to continue losing much more or focus on toning. I have a huge amount of really cute size 12 clothes (over several $1000 worth -that I haven't worn yet or haven't worn much) which are starting to become too big. I am currently a 10 but can get away with wearing some of the 12s. I'm a little over 10lbs away from my goal weight and am thinking I'm ok with this size I am now mostly because of the clothes.... if I lose another 10-15 there is no way I'll be able to wear the 12s I own. What to do what to do what to do?? I want knew shoes... thank god they still all fit. I'd be having a mental breakdown otherwise...:ohwell: I digress, anyway, while discussing this with Ocean_91 and our boss, he brought up the point 'can you put a price on being healthy?' It is true that new clothes is fun. I guess I'm having trouble justifying and don't want to let go of some of those outfits. But his question/statement rings true as well, I guess it answers my question about whether or not I should keep going or focus on toning. Yet I'm still combatting the idea. Any body out there have a similar problem? Your so close you can taste it (pardon the pun) but not quite there and unsure of what to do?

That's very interesting, Loathesome, I'm defintiely going to check that out later.

Hmm I'm not a big fan of veggies for breakfast, except maybe tomatoes with my scrambled egg whites n cheese  It's ok, I make up for it because I usually have an avocado-tomato-and cheese sammich sometime during the day, plus a big nummy salad

I love the idea of trying a new exercise. I've tried Zumba once at my gym but I've never gone back...it'd be a good excuse to go back!! I've avoided going back because I'm slow to catch on, and I'm white so I have no rythym

I hear you... not too much rhythm here either unless I practice and practice and practice. I always feel like an idiot when learning though. My body just does not want to move the way it should or that fast.

i always like doing dance dvds, i feel like an idiot cause of my lack of rhythm too, but it is so much fun, i am laughing the whole time, and im pretty sure that helps burn extra cals
  • Not only burn cals but strengthen stomach muscles too.

I feel for you, I think that getting healthy is more worth it. You can always have some of your favorite outfits taken in so they fit better... I am at the point where I will not buy anything but medium shirts and pants no bigger than 12s (because of my body shape I can't buy some clothes until I lose more because only the bigger sizes fit me).

I had an awesome swim! I'm so glad that my boss agreed to this... I feel completely energized

Veggies for breaky... I love broccoli and I actually steamed/boiled in the fry pan, once tendercrisp I empied any water remaining and then added onion and some peppers... made it into an omelet with 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg, a little bit of light swiss cheese... it was really yummy! Add a couple slices of tomato... everyone's happy!

Not sure what new exercise I could try... I haven't done any of my P90X vidoes, I could do some Kenpo, I really like that one

Nikkytoo - that is quite the crossroad you've come to. The most important thing is that YOU have to be comfortable with YOU! I have to agree with your boss, you can't put a price on being healthy. That being said, you can start concentrating on toning, and I believe you will still lose weight. Once you start noticing the changes, you can decide then IF you even have more weight to lose!! :flowerforyou: This all made sense in my head, but I'm not too sure if I relayed it very well  :blushing:

Loathesome- I think I saw that or a documentry similar to it in college. I may try to see it again because it has been so long.

Nikkytoo- I agree with Denitchy that you will probably lose while you are toning and you can't put a price on your health. Have you considered taking the clothes into either a consignment shop or a used clothing store that buys the clothes? If your taste in clothes is any where close to your taste in shoes, I'm sure they would take them and then you would at least get money or clothes out of the deal that way.
  • Denitchy you made total sense! I understood it completely. I have a problem with always wanting more (I know I'm NOT the only one lol) and that can put me into a dangerous place especially with weight loss. It's part of the reason I struggle so much with weight now. I was pretty much anorexic throughout my teens and young adult life. My body has been in starvation mode since I was a child basically. I'm slowly retraining it to get out of that mode and to function properly. So I suppose my battle is based on your point, Am I ok with where I am or am I just settling for fear of continuing and using the clothes as an excuse. I guess the answer is I'm not really ok here, I do want more and I know I'm no where near a dangerous place yet. Thanks for making me think more.

Jbuerer, I hadn't considered it until this morning when a coworker suggested the very same. I'm now seriously considering it as a viable option. Especially in these economic times. I'm sure there are size 12s out there who would appreciate. I can't hand everything down to Ocean_91 afterall, lol, we work in the same office. She couldn't show up next year in my 'this year's' wardrobe:laugh:. Unless she really wants odd looks and questions.Like ' Didn't you lose a whole bunch of weight? So why are you and how could you be wearing the same clothes as you wore last year? Evil laugh.... that said it might be fun to cause that much confusion. They might very well start to think they are developping a major case of Alzheimers. What do you say Ocean_91, you in? More evil laughing.

    Thanks Denitchy and Jbuerer!

I figure anything that kids don't want to eat should go under veggies. Out of our 4, only 1 will eat tomatoes without complaining.

So I made it with only one fruit today-- I blended a mango into my protein shake. It was not as good as I wanted it to be because my friggin blender quit working on me! I ended up using my food processor to blend it (better than nothing) and it was all gritty still when I drank it.

I think if I hadn't had the shake, sliced peaches over vanilla ice cream would have been better:laugh: .
  • Are we supposed to have ONLY one serving of fruit today or at least one serving of fruit? Either way, coincidently, I haven't had any at all yet. Weird for me.

I think so...I'm still looking for my measuring tape - we moved in June and I know I saw it in one of the 'I don't know what to do with this crap' boxes that are laying around....:ohwell: I really need to find it. Maybe it will make me feel better to compare my measurements to where I was last year (the gym measures you when you sign up and puts it on a progress card that you can add to)

I did buy a pair of 10s last week. It's just frustrating. I upped my calories because I thought maybe I wasn't eating enough and I've started working out again. I just want to go down a pound maybe two so I don't feel so frustrated.:ohwell:

Ok. The pity party is done.
