    Absolutely fair.

Hate to admit it but Italy deserved that.

Italy definitely deserved to win, they just aren't good enough to win! They let Italy attack non stop and did nothing going forward, they were just lucky Italy didn't win 3 or 4-0!!

Sorry England, but the better team did win today. There's hope though, because there are quite a few on the squad that are young and showing a lot of promise. Looking forward to what they can do in Brasil.

Italy v Germany should be interesting. This Italian squad are really going to have to up the tempo of their game against Germany though. Can't wait :glasses:

These weekend quarterfinals games are going to be awesome, but I already know who's going to win. Get ready for a Portugal-Spain and Germany-Italy semifinal.

Good thing I know more about the sport than Alexi Lalas. Now i'm telling you to get ready for a Spain-Germany final. I thought Italy had the potential to beat Germany, but after watching yesterday's match, they aren't the caliber squad necessary to defeat the Germans.

Spain beats Germany to make history.

I'm thinking a Spain/Germany final as well, but I think Portugal have the speed and ability to pull a stunner. I don't have that same faith in Italy. Wednesday's game is going to be serious business. :glasses:

Definitely banking on a Spain vs Germany final. Gutted about England yesterday, but Italy did deserve to go through...if we'd won the match, and played like that against Germany in the semis, then we would've died the moment the national anthems are over! Spain vs Portugal should be on heck of an interesting game :)

Roy Hodgeson should have read an ESPN article on PK Analysis. Ashly Cole didn't take enough time to set himself up mentally. I was rooting for England. But, something in Ashley's (Cole) eyes say that he wasn't ready and he really want to be done with it. I play football and I hate taking PKs. It scare the S..t out of me every time.

I really want to see Germany beating Spain in the Final. But, Portugal (especially, CR7) look better and better every time they play. CR7 and his crew also knows exactly how to play against that kind of defense. So It will be pretty interesting.

Don't forget, nobody knows how to defend Cristiano Ronaldo better than that Spanish defense. That's my favorite player in the world, but I'm pretty sure Ramos and Pique know how to stop him.

True....BUT....conversely, he plays with or against most of those dudes on a regular basis and can impart some knowledge to his teammates on style of play and how to get around it. Real won La Liga this year, and a handful of Portugal's team play in La Liga as well, so I have a feeling it's going to be more like El Classico in style....which is explosive. I can't wait!
