Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Gina B's 3000 Steps and Vinyasa Flow yoga.

I never heard about the canning class. I'm so disappointed!
My feet are definitely doing a little better. No pain today! Yaay! I'm still babying them though.

Laurel, I'm so glad you had a nice weekend and got to play golf both days! I hope you get some much needed rain soon.

Great workouts! I read on FB that Cathe's new bands are on their way to the US to a port in NY. Hopefully they'll be able to start shipping them out next month!

If you have a small massage ball you should massage your feet over it. The Lacrosse balls did wonders for me. Also massaging my Achilles tendons. I use a double Lacrosse ball (actual name) for my Achilles tendons and my calves. For my Achilles tendons I put the double ball horizontally on a yoga block to give me some elevation. I then put my Achilles tendon over the middle part (legs extended). I prop myself Up with my hands and roll my A tendon forward/backward over the middle part of the balls. It feels soooo good. I do the same with my calves. For my feet I prefer a single ball.
I find that calf stretching is not enough. The deep foot/A Tendon/calf massage is usually my healing routine. I don't know why I resisted doing this winning remedy for days but once I did it the healing process began. I'm sure I will deal with this problem off and on for the rest of my life too. One thing is for sure, I won't be walking without sneakers again!

We were so relieved that the fur babies did so well with the fireworks. There were some pretty loud explosions nearby. Chico is not even afraid of the vacuum. We feel bad about what horrible experiences he had to go through. We are giving him a lot of the love and we hope it will help him recover from his trauma. He was found in April so the fact that he is doing so well is a miracle.

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a combo of two Cathe Live metabolic workouts. I did Cathe Live Metabolic 300, which is more resistance based and then Cathe Live 3-3-3 which is more cardio based. It was a good combo.

Thelma, great workouts! Thank you so much on your foot recommendations. I will definitely look into the LaCrosse balls. I do find massaging works wonders, even just with my hands. I hope Cathe is able to ship her new workouts and bands somewhat soon. DH and I are headed to Denver in a couple of months, and I would love to be able to take those bands with me. :) We woke up to rain today! Such a pleasant surprise, especially since it is still raining hours later. We need this, so it is very welcome. Poor Chico has been through so much in a few months. It is so wonderful that he has grown so attached to you so quickly. He seems like a precious little pup, that’s for sure.

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workout on Wednesday was ICE Metabolic Total Body. Loved it!
My feet were hurting a little today simply because I was barefoot in the bathroom this morning while I got ready for the day. It was raining here so I wonder if that was a factor too.

    Laurel, fantastic workouts!
I hope you'll find the Lacrosse balls as effective as I do!
It would be fantastic if you could take your new Cathe bands with you to Denver!

I'm so glad you finally got some rain! Your grass is going to love it!
Chico is a sweet dog. We're going to hire a behavioral trainer to work with us and Chico. I'm looking forward to that because we could all use training.

    Good night!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a super tough 45 minute HiiT and Hills ride with Peloton. I preceded it with a 5 minute warm up ride and ended it with a 10 minute (much needed) cool down ride and a 5 minute stretch. Then I did a very relaxing 30 minute yoga flow with Kristin McGee.

Thelma, great workout. I am sorry your feet were bothering you again but, no doubt, the weather could be a factor. You may probably guess that the ride I did this morning was an Olivia Amato ride. She promised ‘recoveries’ during the warm up, but her recovery paces were either 100-110 or 110-120!! I struggle to get to 120 ever, and most certainly never to recover!! Crazy lady. But it was a good ride. Anyhow, we got more rain this morning, and I think our plants and grass are happy. And our little hummingbird visited us again last night on our deck. Too cute! He didn’t stay long, but I am determined that next year our deck will be full of salvia plants. :) I think visiting with a behavioral trainer with Chico is a wonderful idea!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workout on Thursday were taking Chico on three 15-20 minute walks, Gina B low impact and Cathe's Yoga Strength and Flexibility Workout. The walks did make my feet hurt but eventually it stopped once I massaged and stretched.
In the last 4-5 weeks I've ordered about $1500 in sneakers from either Amazon or Zappos and have yet to keep a single pair! it sucks to have problem flat feet!

We got more rain today which was good.
We are going to Publix early tomorrow morning. I can't wait! LOL

I got accepted for the canning workshop! I got an email today. I had lost hope. I'll be doing that on 7/21.

Laurel, great workouts! Good for you for being able to do Olivia's rides. She a tough, tiny little thing! LOL
I can never get beyond 80 on my bike. Anything else means slow cadence for me. I could do 100 for a warm up! LOL.
I'm glad you got more rain and another visit from the hummingbirds. The do visit the feeders more often early in the morning and at the end of the day.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live PHA Supersets followed by Fit/Split Low Impact Cardio and Metabolic Conditioning. The latter was a last minute decision, but it felt good today. I should probably try that one more often.

Thelma, great workouts, I am sorry the walk bothered your feet. And I am sorry you are having troubles finding shoes. That’s the story of my life at the moment as well. No fun at all. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Publix. I was shopping at our Publix early this morning and it was such a pleasant experience. I loving shopping during those quiet times of day. Yay for the canning workshop!! I am so glad you finally heard something. I will be anxious to hear about it. We are getting more rain today as well. It has been a nice patch of moisture, that’s for sure.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. We had a nice and quiet weekend. We've had rain everyday since last Tuesday with torrential rain on Saturday and Sunday.

My workout on Friday was S&S PHA Basic Premix and Core.
Sunday: Gina B Hiit Walk and STS Disc 16 - Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. Such a great workout!

My feet are better but now I have a dull, throbbing ache on my upper anterior tibialis. I don't have any ankle issues just the upper throbbing. It is not shin splint according to what I've read. As much as I love walking little Chico up/down our road I can't do it.
I found a pair of New Balance shoes that felt good. I just have to get the right size. I also just ordered three pairs of Gravity Defyer shoes. They seem to run 1/2 size short. Reviewers rave about how this brand of shoes has cured them from plantar fasciitis and all kinds of foot pain. I got 4 pairs of sneakers delivered over the weekend and they're all going back. This is so depressing! The Gravity Defyier shoes are horrendous looking but I don't care about that if they work for my feet.

    Laurel, great workouts!!
I had no idea you were also having problems finding workout shoes too! The NB shoes that felt good are called New Balance Women's Fresh Foam Beacon V3 Running Shoe.
Our trip to Publix as always was as always a great experience. We got to Publix at 9:15 which is late for us but it takes 45 minutes to get there.
I am excited about the canning workshop!
Did you get torrential rain like we did?

    Have a wonderful week ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Sorry I wasn't on line last week, but after the holiday I was super busy at work. I kept up with my rotation. Have been busy quilting and had a really nice 4th with the race and seeing family. Last night we celebrated my MIL's 95th birthday.

I'm only going to start with my workout from this morning which was RAW Heavy Bag Workout 1. Always good when I can use my egg weights.

Laurel, Love looking at all your workout. I'm considering using those Fit/Split weight workouts in this rotation. I have not used those workout in quite a while. Glad to hear that your getting some rain. They say we are getting some today, but we will see. Most of the time we get a spatter, and then it stops.

Thelma, Great job on your workouts, and so glad to hear that your foot has improved so much. Yay on the canning class, glad to hear that you heard from them. I'm sure it will be very informative. I hope that you are able to find some shoes that will work, even if they are not cute. I also have to get some new shoes, the ones I have are over the timeframe that they say you should be purchasing new shoes. I have always like NB, so will have to check out the ones that you have indicated above.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Mine was very quiet. DH was in Florida because one of his former high school/ROTC students was being commissioned as an officer into the Air Force, and he asked DH to come down and give him his first salute. After four years away, we both felt it was so wonderful for this young man to reach out to him with that request. Anyhow, since DH was gone, my weekend was a mix of chores, some gardening, books and puzzles. Since it has rained for a week now, I can think of worse ways to have spent this weekend.

For workouts, on Saturday I did a 20 minute low impact spin with Peloton and then 30 minutes of yoga with Kristin McGee. Yesterday was a 50 minute Peloton spin followed by Cathe’s Lean Legs and Abs workout. Today was STS Disc 16/Chest, Shoulders and Triceps followed by Cathe Live Hi-Lo Cardio Kickboxing. I echo Thelma’s comments about the STS workout. I love the back off sets! So good.

Thelma, great workouts. Yes, we have had buckets of rain, and yesterday’s storms were actually pretty violent with thunder, lightening and wind. My poor plants are taking a beating from all of this. I am sorry to hear about the shin pain. This is probably completely not your issue, but I had shin pain that wasn’t shin splints when I had strained my calf. I, of course, kept working out and then tore that calf muscle the next week. So be careful with that pain and don’t stress it too much. I got mine from a pretty mundane walk on a trail in the woods, so it could be some of the walking that has caused it. Just…..FYI. Anyhow, thanks for all the good shoe recommendations. I definitely like New Balance shoes.

Laurie, welcome back. I am glad you enjoyed your long weekend. Wow on your MIL turning 95! I hope she is doing well. Great job keeping up with your rotation. Those Fit/Split workouts are definitely under utilized by me. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Low Impact/Metabolic workout I did on Friday. You have given me an idea for after this STS rotation, and that is to do another rotation focusing on workouts I have a tendency to ignore….like Fit/Split. Hmmmm….something to think about for the next 4+ months!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, I am having to take it easy with cardio just in case because of my new injury. On Monday I did Gina B Low Impact, Gentle Spinning and a Barlates with ball class.

I did a deep calf massage after my workouts and my tibialis muscle pain was pretty much gone but it came back later on. My feet on the other hand, are pretty close to feeling normal. I hate being injured!

We had a beautiful day and it was actually on the cool side this morning which was pretty refreshing. The rain returned in the early evening with more torrential rain and some thunder and lightning. it didn't last very long though. More of the same through Thursday according to my weather app.

Another pair of NB shoes arrived today. I've not had the time to try them on though.

Laurie, welcome back!! I'm glad you had a good time during the 4th weekend! I can't believe your MIL turned 95! God bless her!
Great job keeping up with your workouts!

I am happy about my foot too. I am very excited about the canning class! Good luck finding new shoes. I really liked those NB shoes because they were very supportive and actually had good arch support. I used to like Saucony shoes but they are no longer working for me. I wish they'd stop discontinuing shoes!

Laurel, glad you had a nice weekend. What a wonderful tribute to your DH for that young man to reach out to him and asked him to give his first salute! I think you did the perfect activities for the weekend. I wish I could do puzzles but that is impossible with cats around! LOL

Great workouts! I think that after all these years I'm actually enjoying the STS workouts. I'm sure it's because I'm retired now and I'm not super exhausted from work.
I'm glad you finally got some rain. I don't think our rain. I think all plants are taking a goo beating with the heavy rains.
Thanks for mentioning your calf injury. I will be very careful. I also read that this type of injury is common with people with flat feet. I need new feet!!!

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Well I have some not great news. My MIL fell yesterday and now has a displaced fracture in both the fibula and tibia. She has a cast from her thigh to her foot, and will be in that for the next six weeks. So that means that she will be in a rehab facility, which according to her, the health care providers all try to kill her. I feel for DH because every time she is in one of these situations, she calls and complains about the place every day. DH wasn't even able to be with her yesterday, they only allowed one person which was his brother.

I actually didn't workout this morning because I had a horrible sinus headache. We have foggy drizzle right now, and boy my sinuses do not like this.

Laurel, Great job on your workouts! That was really cool that the young man requested your DH to do that salute. You really did fill your time while he was away though. ;) Those Fit/Split weight workouts are ones that I remember being fun to do because of the variety. I just wish that those workouts where not so long. Of course I can split up them, because they average about 30 min. when done that way. I'm glad that I was able to get the rotation juices flowing for your next one.

Thelma, Nice job taking the workout down for your foot. I'm sure that I could have done a workout this morning, but I had a tough time sleeping last night because of it. I hope you are able to find some shoes, and yes it does get annoying when they discontinue a pair of shoes that you are comfortable with.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 60 minute spin followed by a 10 minute cool down spin followed by Perfect 30 Yoga Strength and Flexibility and the Perfect 30 core work. Everything felt good today.

Laurie, I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. Hopefully she lets the people in the rehab center help her heal. But I imagine this won’t be easy for her, your DH or his brother….or you. I will send healing thoughts her way. I don’t blame you for not working out this morning. I had a brutal sinus headache on Saturday, and it was all I could do to sit upright. My headaches aren’t usually that bad but, boy, that one knocked me out….and nothing I took touched it. Hopefully yours is feeling better.

Thelma, I am glad you are taking care of that injury. Good workouts for recovering. Hopefully it will feel better soon and hopefully the new shoes work. Our weather was similar to yours yesterday with a pretty pleasant day until a wicked downpour. It looks like today may be the same. While it is nice this summer has been pretty cool (so far), I wouldn’t mind a little more sunshine in between these rain storms. B)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Tuesday were Gina B 2000 Steps and STS Disc #18 Back and Biceps.

I finally found a pair of sneakers and they are New Balance! They're walking shoes but in the last few years I've had a lot of luck with NB walking sneakers. They are 847 v4 Walking Shoe. They also make a running shoe that looks pretty similar to the 847's. They are 840 V4. The shoes were comfortable and cushiony right out of the box. They actually have pretty good arch support. If my feet weren't messed up right now I could use them without my orthotics. The shoes feel a little wider than a medium width and have a wide toe box. I replaced the shoes' insoles with my custom made orthotics and my feet were in heaven. I almost cried because it's been depressing not being able to find comfortable sneakers. I've been using my Keene low hiking shoes because my feet love those shoes but they're not sneakers. The transition from the Keene to the NB shoes was very interesting. My feet and calves started to hurt but I knew that was my body adjusting to the change.

For the first time in almost 10 days I felt safe doing my low impact cardio and was able to move around a lot more, than I have been lately. I still have the tibialis injury and I was feeling pretty good until I decided to walk Chico for 10 minutes around our flat driveway. I like the shoes so much that I immediately ordered a second pair to put away for future use.

I was going to do the STS leg workout today but because my feet were hurting I decided to do upper body. My legs are also hurting from the Barlates workout I did on Monday. My inner thighs were talking to me all day today! LOL

We had a dry and cloudy Tuesday and only got a passing shower sometime after mid-night.

Laurie, I'm so sorry about your MIL's fall! Poor thing! I hope the staff at the rehab facility make her feel safe and comfortable. Your poor DH is going to go through a rough time while his mom is in rehab. You will go through it with him too.
I don't blame you for not working out today. Your body totally needed a break.

I am so relieved to have found a pair of sneakers for my problem feet! I am waiting for the Gravity Defyer shoes and another pair of NB shoes. At this point I will buy whatever works!

Laurel, great workouts! I love that yoga workout. I hope Cathe makes more of those.

I am definitely going to take it easy with cardio. My left foot still has an injury that is not plantar fasciitis. It is around the arch area, like the little muscle is tight. Of course, it's my left side that is a mess.
Hopefully we will get more sun toward the end of the week.

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Slept really well last night, and no headaches to deal with. Yesterdays headache was so bad, that I was crabbing at DH. I don't usually do that, so he new I wasn't feeling all that great. So my workout was LiTe Stacked Sets Upper Body. Don't know why this one always surprises me, probably because I'm using lighter weights that I normally would.

Laurel, Awesome job on your workouts! My MIL has already told her nurse how her medications should be timed and that she doesn't want any narcotics. DH said the nurse is very nice, and that she would do her best on timing the medication. His mom was constantly calling DH last night, and he said that he is going to take her phone away from her. :D I can tell that he is already stressing, because he is sighing every once in a while. So you have those same type of headaches? It was right above my eye, and nothing I did was helping. I know that mine have a lot to do with the barometric pressure.

Thelma, So glad to hear that you have found a shoe, and that Chico was able to take advantage of your testing of the new shoes. Great job with your workouts! I'm hoping that DH is still able to go up north with me this weekend. I was planning on seeing my Dad and then taking my Mom to my brothers cabin. His mom will be moving to a rehab facility at some point, but the date hasn't been established yet. The social worker is suppose to get a list of available facilities.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 17/Legs and the STS Extended Stretch. For cardio, I did Cathe Live Cardio Core Circuit. I really enjoy that one.

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you switched the lower body workout for upper body to give your feet a break. I am also glad you found a good pair of shoes. I am going to look at those walking shoes. They sound really good. I have been wearing some of my Nike running shoes for playing golf, but I used to have a pair of New Balance shoes that were a little better for that because of the toe room and a better sole. These just might work! Thank you for sharing the information.

Laurie, great workout. Those Lite strength workouts—all of them—are really exceptionally good, especially given how long they are. Love them. I am so glad you got some sleep and your headache is gone. Yes, I have had ‘barometric’ headaches since childhood. I can always predict snow because it always gives me a headache. Like you, it is right above my eye. Usually it is a dull ache that is more annoying than anything but every now and again….it gets really bad. That was this weekend. I hope your MIL gets into a rehab facility soon. If I were your DH, I would probably be sighing too. Aging parents is just so tough….as you well know right now. I am glad you are going to get up to see your dad this weekend.

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wednesday were Cathe's Slide & Glide & LIS Yoga Relax.
The tibialis injury is better but is still there. I did my short walk with Chico this morning as a test and I did very well. I repeated the same walk in the afternoon and the pain came back. At least my feet are pretty happy. Today was my best day so far.
I did the slide & glide workout because I thought it would be safe. At some point I started to feel pressure on the tibialis so I ditched the discs and just the non disc version and it was better. I'm still happy with my new snickers.

We had our first rain free day on Wednesday.

Laurie, I'm so glad you managed to get plenty of rest and that your sinus headache is gone. It sounds that your headache is what I call an eyeball headache. The barometric pressure can cause pretty bad headaches.

I hope your DH is able to go up north with you this weekend. It would do him a lot of good to get away. I thought your MIL was already in a rehab facility! I hope they find her a good place.

Laurel, great workouts! I will be doing legs tomorrow and I have to admit that I'm a little scared. I'll just listen to my body and will do the best I can.

I highly recommend the 847 NB sneakers! I should be a shoe tester! I wished these sneaker companies hired people with problem feet like mine to test their shoes. I don't know who tests them because most shoes don't have any arch support.

I've never had luck with Nike shoes. They just don't have enough arch support and are narrow. I used to love Asics until they became extremely narrow. Even their wide shoes are narrow.

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was RAW Boxing & Drills.

My MIL is now in the rehab facility, and of course she was not happy with the boy's choice (she never is). I'm sure they will try to kill her (her words) like every other rehab place that she has been in. :o She wanted to be in a facility that was closer to her home so that her brother (who shouldn't be driving) could bring her things that she needs, but she lives about 30 min. away from both of the boys. I'm sure that she will be fine. DH is going to visit with her today. He told her to make a list of things that she needs, and he would go get them.

Laurel, Great job with the workouts, and getting in a cardio core workout that you enjoy doing. I have that same thing happen to me when the weather changes. I usually start off with a stuffed up nose, and then get a headache. I think the biggest problem with DH's mother, she doesn't have anyone to talk to. All her friends have passed away, and she is by herself. She does have her brother, but all they do is argue with each other. One of the things I have never understood about DH's "older" family is the arguing. I didn't grow up with my family doing that. We may have gotten mad, but it would pass quickly.

Thelma, Nice job on the workouts! Glad that the sneakers are still good. Sounds like Chico is really taking advantage of the sneaker/tibialis testing. ;) DH is determined to go with me up north, just so that he gets a break. :D His brother and SIL should be able to handle 4 days of him being away.

    Have a great day,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 60 minute spin followed by 20 minutes of core focused yoga with Kristin McGee. Then I took a very long walk since the sun is shining and there is no threat of rain. Finally. At least for a day or two. B):D

Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you ditched the discs if they were bothering you. And skip that leg workout if you need to! The beauty of doing these workouts twice is you know you will be doing it next week, so please let yourself recover if you need to. If I could, I would design my own shoe. Nike works best for me in the mid-foot region. I like the toe space of New Balance. And I would have to find what works best on the heel area because in some ways it is Nike, in others it is Under Armour and in others it is New Balance. But, like you, I have never really found the ‘perfect’ shoe….and my feet let me know that quite a bit. :#

Laurie, great workout. I am glad your MIL is in the rehab facility and, hopefully, she will be a bit calmer when she gets some of her things from her DH. My family is not one that argues at all either. I will never forget my first experience of an arguing family at a sleepover when I was in elementary school. It stunned me….and I went home. :o No doubt your MIL is lonely, but I hope your DH is able to go with you this weekend.

    Enjoy the day.

Hi Ladies, I managed to aggravate my tibialis injury today so I had to take it easy. I was on a test walk with Chico going up our little hill and I could feel the pain. On the way back I had to walk backwards to prevent further injury. Thankfully it feels better tonight.

On the good news front, my New Balance Fresh Foam Beacon V3 Running Shoes in the correct size finally came today and they are keepers and are very cushiony. These are the first sneakers ever to actually have arch support for my flat feet. I love the way they hug my feet. Most NB shoes I've bought have been a size 9 because of my orthotics. These ones don't work with my orthotics because my heel slips out but they will work without orthotics once my foot is back to normal. A size 8 worked perfectly. I'm still waiting for the Gravity Defyer shoes.

It was warm here today. I think we were in the 90's but because of our altitude it didn't feel bad. It was great in the shade. We got a little rain but I think we are done with it.

We are going out to dinner with a friend tomorrow night and hopefully to an arts & crafts festival about 20 minutes from here and a shooting party on Saturday.

    Laurie, great workout!
I am so glad your MIL is already in the rehab facility! That was quick! I feel bad for your DH and BIL because they'll have to deal with their mom's complains. I imagine the boys didn't have much of a choice when it came to choosing a rehab facility.

Chico loves to walk and be outside. DH had to go out today for about 4 hours and Chico was missing him like crazy. He kept going to the door like he wanted to go to the bathroom so I ended up taking him out three times while DH was gone. He never went to the bathroom! I think he just wanted to go search for daddy and wait for him outside.
I am so glad your DH is determined to go with you up north!

    Laurel, great workouts!!
I will probably have to skip the STS leg workout this week but I'm hoping to be able to give it a try tomorrow.
You might like the the Beacon V3 sneakers. I think they fit more like a Nike and are not as wide as the NB walking shoes. They do offer a pretty good toe box for a running shoe.

    Have a wonderful weekend Ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was RAW Compound Moves, and I used a heavier weight than I had when trying this workout previously. Sure does make a difference on the cardio aspect when you do that.

DH is going with me, so we are heading up north this afternoon. Rocket is staying home with our youngest, but I'm sure that he would rather be with us. Getting excited to see my Dad, since I have not seen him since Christmas. We will be taking my Mom to my brothers cabin on Saturday after we see Dad. I will not be posting in the early part of the week. We are taking a few days, before heading back home.

Laurel, Great workouts, and taking advantage of the weather for that nice long walk. It sounds like my MIL has a really nice nurse, and she is aware of how my MIL takes her meds. I think this facility will be good, and I hope my MIL will get a more positive attitude. She will be there for quite a while, so she needs to get used to it. DH said that she called the food slop, but I thought it sounded good. She got grilled cheese and a chef salad. So last night DH and I had that for dinner. :D This is the one thing that my DH can fix, so every once in a while I take advantage. I'm doing a quilt-a-long, and needed to post a pick of my quilt top by today. So this was an easy way to have dinner, and I could get the top finished.

Thelma, Dang on the continued problems. What did Chico thing of you walking backwards? Have a great time with your friends, and going to the festival. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. Hope all goes well with your injury. You are right there wasn't much choice with the facilities. Since a lot of them are short on staff, they can only take so many patients. Like I said to Laurel, this place sounds like it will be good. I'm sure that Chico will get better and better over time. Of course it sounds like your DH is his person. That is the way it is with Rocket and me.

Here is the quilt top that I did for my oldest. I still have to get a better picture of my nieces quilt. The ones that I took where not good. :/

    Have a great weekend,

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 18/Back and Biceps. I felt strong on the other STS workouts this week and today was no different. I love weeks like this. I followed it with a Mishmash premix from Perfect 30 HiiT that is half High Impact, Half Low Impact, the Bonus Pyramid HiiT and the bonus extended stretch. Love these blended workouts.

Thelma, I am sorry to hear about the injury. Hopefully some more rest will do the trick. I just looked up those New Balance shoes and think I will buy a pair! They look really good. I hope you enjoy your time out this weekend. We are supposed to have a pretty rainy weekend here so I am not quite sure what we are going to be doing yet. We were both, of course, hoping for golf but that may not happen.

Laurie, great workout. I love the quilt!! The design is so unique. Is this your design or did you follow a pattern? Regardless, it is truly amazing work. I am glad it sounds like your MIL is in a good facility, even if she doesn’t quite recognize that yet. I hope you have a good trip this weekend and enjoy your time off next week.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Hi ladies, I hope you had a great weekend. We are still in the rainy pattern we've been on since almost two weeks ago? I can't remember anymore! We've had torrential rain, wind, thunder, lightning at times but at least it has been mostly at night. We had dry days Saturday and Sunday which was great.
The craft fair was very good and my feet and tibialis survived. I had no idea they'd make us park far away from the fair site. We had a 1 ml round trip from our parking space to the fair. On the way to the fair it was downhill and I did very well. No problem! On the way back it was uphill so I could feel my tibialis talk to me. Still not bad. This was the first time I could tell I was getting better. My calves needed stretching and a massage after the walk but not too bad. Sunday my tibialis and Achilles tendon were a little unhappy. I'm considering this a little setback but still feel like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Today I walked Chico around our driveway which is pretty big. We did a few laps on flat terrain. My tibialis wasn't happy at the end but I feel like I will be able to walk without problems soon.

The fair was small and there were some amazing crafts. I found a lady who makes the most beautiful pottery I've seen in a long time. She had flower vases and I asked her for something I could use for hydrangeas and she showed me a vase I couldn't resist!
My dwarf hydrangea has about 3 flowers left I cut what I needed for my vase.

On our way from the fair I checked my phone and had sad news about one of our friends. He had been airlifted out of the mountains to another city. He and his wife have covid and he is in bad shape. When he left the mountains he had heart damage and yesterday his wife found out he also has pneumonia. He isn't intubated but has a bipap machine. This news hit all of us like a ton of bricks. We never went to the shooting party. We were just sad for our friend and it didn't feel right to have fun when a friend is fighting for his life.

On Friday I did another Gina B low impact workout and gave Disc 17 - Legs a try. I kept it light and shallow and skipped a couple of exercises that didn't feel right.

On Sunday I did a Gina B 2500 Steps workout and STS Meso 2, Disc 16 Chest Only followed by stretching and leg/feet stretching and massage.

    Laurie, great workout!
I am so glad you and your DH went up north and are taking some time for yourselves. It sounds like your MIL is in a good facility. Hopefully she'll relax soon. I'm sure she's a little scared too.
Chico didn't seem to mind watching me walk backwards! LOL

Laurie, that quilt is gorgeous! WOW! You are so talented! I love the pattern and colors!

    Laurel, great workouts!

The rest has definitely helped with my injuries. I hope I continue to feel better. I just have to take it easy.
I'm so glad you felt like those NB shoes would work for you. I hope you like them as much as I do.
I hope you had dry days this weekend like we did and were able to play golf.

    Have a wonderful week ladies!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was nice. On Saturday we listened to the weather forecasters who promised rain all day and managed to get the lawn mowed, the garage cleaned and some other outdoor activities in….without a drop of rain. So yesterday we ignored the forecasters, who again called for rain all day, and went to the golf course. We had a few sprinkles but other than that, it was a beautiful day for golf. Luckily everybody else was still listening to the forecasters because we, quite literally, had the course to ourselves. It was wonderful. Today….it is raining all day. :)

For workouts, on Saturday I did a 30 minute low impact spin followed by 45 minutes of yoga with Kristin. Yesterday was STS Disc 16/Chest, followed by a 20 minute HiiT spin into Cathe Live Legs, Cardio and Core Galore. Today was STS Disc 16/Shoulders followed by a 45 minute HiiT and Hills spin and 20 minutes of yoga with Kristin that focused on twists. That felt wonderful.

Thelma, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I will keep him in my thoughts and pray for a full recovery. I don’t blame you for not going out after that news. But I am glad you enjoyed the fair. That vase—and your flowers—are beautiful. I am also glad feel you have turned a corner with your injury. Great job with the workouts and making sure you kept them safe for that injury.

So I have been thinking about how we should approach Meso 3, and like I mentioned before, I don’t think we should do a one-body part week with that Mesocycle. I think the boredom would do us in after a week. So, instead, I think we should only full workouts with each week’s workouts done for two weeks before moving on. I am also thinking we do only one of the two Meso 3 Leg workouts (Plyo Legs or Squat Rack Legs) each week and have an optional non-STS lower body workout each week like what we are doing now. In other words, Meso 3 would virtually mirror our the full workout weeks (like last week) that we are doing now.

I am also thinking of not putting in designated recovery weeks but taking them when we feel we need them. I am inclined to think I will want one after the third and sixth weeks just because of how that Mesocycle works, but I don’t want to commit to that if I need a recovery after the second week….or feel I could go four weeks without a recovery week.

Please let me know what you think. I have to admit….I am stunned that we are sitting at the half way point (at the end of this week) in this long STS rotation. It seems to be flying by for me!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, I didn't have a good day today. I woke up with my tibialis talking to me and it was like that all day long. I was really depressed today. Eventually it occurred to me to massage the tibialis area and it helped a lot. I hope I feel better in the morning.

My workouts today were a lite Gina B and Peloton workouts for cardio and STS Meso 2, Disc 16 Shoulders Only.

I think this rainy weather is getting to me. Today was cloudy and drizzly all day long!

Laurel, great workouts! I am so glad you managed to get all those outdoor tasks done and even played golf. People here always say we should ignore the forecasters. Sounds like had similar weather.

Thanks for keeping our friend in your thoughts and prayers. His wife was feeling better today and he is doing better too. He is still breathing through the bipap machine but is less anxious and is drinking water.

I like the idea of doing a full workout weeks and repeating each full week the following week. I may need a recovery week every two weeks but I will see how things go. Good idea about the leg workouts too!

I was thinking over the weekend too that this phase is putting us at the half way point. It really is going by fast. I was even thinking we should restart the rotation when we're done with this one! LOL

    Good night!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 16/Triceps followed by Cross Fire Extreme premix. It has been a long time since I have done that latter workout, and it was a sweaty one today. But I enjoyed doing it again.

Thelma, I am sorry your tibialis is causing you so much trouble. Injuries are so depressing, without question. Hopefully a little more rest and some massaging will get it feeling better. Great job with the workouts despite this injury. I am glad you like the sound of the plan for Meso 3. I will type something out for it so we can use it as reference in the next couple of weeks. I am glad both of your friends are feeling better. I hope that good news continues. We had quite the storm last night and rain again this morning. But, apparently, this gloomy weather is on its way out at the new of the week. I know heat and humidity are right behind it, but since we are closing in on August already, I am ready for it.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, I had a much better day today both mentally and physically! Thank God! My workouts on Tuesday were Zumba, STS Meso 2, Disc 16 Triceps Only and Vinyasa Flow.

We had another rainy day today.

Our friend had to be intubated today. We were told that he allowed the doctors to intubate him and that his oxygen levels are improving.

My canning class is finally tomorrow!

    Laurel, great workouts!!
Injuries are depressing. Thankfully I wasn't depressed today. I hope I continue feeling
like this! I hope the rainy weather is really on its way out!

    Good night!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 17/Legs followed by a 45 minute Peloton spin and post-ride stretch.

Thelma, I am so glad you were feeling better yesterday. Great workouts. I hope the positive energy continues. I am sorry your friend had to be intubated. Hopefully he responds well and can get back to breathing on his own soon. I hope you enjoy the canning class!

I forgot to mention yesterday that I have thought about repeating this STS rotation too! We’ll see how we feel come November. :D

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts on Wed were a Peloton warm up and STS Disc 17 Legs.

The canning class was so much fun! I learned that The National Center for Home Food Preservation is part of UGA. Who knew! All canning instructions come from this center and Ball the canning jar makers consult with them.
It turns out that canning is pretty easy but you do have to follow the guidelines to make sure your food is properly sealed and stored. There's going to be a Masters Gardeners class in January; which I am going to take too.

We had our first rain free day today! It was warm and it's to be warmer the next few days. I'm not complaining!

Our friend isn't doing well. We knew he had pneumonia on Saturday but today we found out there's fluid around his heart. Things aren't looking good for him at all.

    Laurel, great workouts!
I'm so glad you're thinking of restarting this rotation too! Maybe we should take a month off and do lighter workouts then. I was also thinking that we may want to eliminate the one body part week all together.

    Good night!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 18/Biceps followed by STS Weights and Plates Abs. For cardio, I finally convinced myself to do another STS Shock Cardio workout (since my goal was to do them all at least once during this rotation) and did Step Moves. I enjoyed it today, but, no doubt, my foot/PF is going to tell me I shouldn’t have done a step workout later. :# But since my foot feels good now, I also took a nice long walk outside since, like Thelma, we are finally rain-free.

Thelma, great workouts. I am so glad you enjoyed the canning class! I bet the January class will be just as good if not better. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. He is in my prayers.

You and I are definitely on the same wavelength about another STS rotation. Since I think we are going to end Meso 3 sometime in November, I was definitely planning on a easier/shorter/lighter rotation through the holidays (with more fun workouts!), and then maybe returning to STS in January. I am thinking about maybe doing Meso 1 just as a simple single week section for four weeks (no repeated workouts at all) since that Mesocycle has a huge dread factor for me. But I would definitely do Meso 2 with repeated weeks, but, like you, would prefer to do away with the one body part weeks and do two weeks of full workouts before moving on to the next week. I am not sure if I would want to do Meso 3 as a single or double week right now. Let me know what you think!!! But, right now, I am loving how much stronger I am feeling (in everything) from doing this dedicated lifting.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! My workouts on Thursday were Zumba and STS Disc #18 Back Only.
We are in a dry pattern weather wise. It was sunny and hot.
This afternoon our large group of friends met at an outdoor restaurant for the first time since 3/13/20. I never thought this day would ever come. It was fun to see everyone again.

We are meeting some friends for lunch tomorrow and we've been invited to the weekly shooting party. I don't know if I want to go yet. Those our weekend plans in addition to things around the house and giving Chico a bath.

Laurel, great workouts! I don't think I'd ever heard of that Step Moves workout. Good for you for doing it. I hope your foot won't complain!

Thanks so much for keeping our friend in your prayers. I heard that the sedation had been reduced; which sounds (to me) like there's been some improvement.

I am glad we're on the same wavelength about another STS rotation. It occurred to me that we could do the new Band program as part of our post STS rotation!
Good question about Meso 3! single or double weeks? Hmm? Part of me wants to say double weeks but I might need a recovery week after every second week. I am also loving how I'm feeling now that we're doing this STS rotation.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
