Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were walking and Tracy Steen Total Body.
Laurel, great workouts! That leg workout souns great.
How sad about your azalea flowers. I love mums. I get them every year.
The weather really is crazy. I was just looking at the drought map of Georgia and most of Southern GA is in extreme drought. Surprisingly, my county is mostly white on the map.Have a great weekend!

Morning Ladies,
Yesterday the dd was over with the boys. No workout for me that day. I got in a Shadow Boxing workout with Kelly on Wednesday. Today was Lindsey's Glutes & Abs workout. Really enjoyed this one since I was able to use the fabric band. That really burns the buns good.
Laurel, Awesome job with all the workouts! It is crazy how fast that freeze can make those plants turn overnight. Of course our lawn service came today, so my gardening will have to wait until tomorrow. At least the temperatures are still okay. DH tackled the pine tree in our front lawn yesterday. Those branches where hanging all the way to the ground. Enjoy the long weekend with your DH.
Thelma, You are rocking those workouts. That is really nice that you can put those potted plants in the garage. Nothing would last in our garage, unless they are in the side where dh keeps his show cars. That side is heated during the winter. Interesting about the rooster, I didn't realize that there was a bread that enjoyed being in trees.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was good.
My quest for finding ways to eat vegetables continues. I've found a fitness influencer who has really good food ideas, which appeal to me. She bulks up her meal with roasted squashes. She eats all kinds of squashes and I happen to like them. She's all about eating massive portions with high nutritious benefits and low calories. She usually eats out of a large bowl. She piles her food into the bowl and starts with mixed greens, then adds her roasted squash, meat. She makes salad dressings with Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. She also adds cottage cheese to her bowl for extra protein. She likes hot sauce and pico de gallo. I don't' know about the last two ingredients, but I'm Ok with everything else. She says she likes her leaves well coated with creamy dressing and her dressings are high protein and low cal. She mixes everything she puts into her bowl together and proceeds to eat her massive meal. I attempted to make a food bowl like hers and surprisingly, I loved what I was eating.
I started with baby greens, cukes and tomatoes. I also made a Greek yogurt avocado dressing, roasted sweet potatoes and ground beef with taco seasoning, onions and peppers. I topped my bowl with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. I can't believe how much I enjoyed my meal. My dinner had 44 grams of protein.
I have to admit that I was pretty horrified when she mixed everything into a bowl, but I thought I would give it a try because I was brought up loading up my fork with a little bit of everything on my plate, so I always had an explosion of flavors in my mouth. I definitly tink that I need lots of flavor in my foods. I wish I liked Indian food but I can't deal with curry or tumeric.
It's pretty rare that I eat something I truly enjoy anymore. I eat out of necessity, but I think everything just tastes boring. My workouts over the weekend were walking, sculpting Pilates and I decided to redo CG's Iron Series. Iron Day 1 - Legs.
We haven't rain in I don't know how long. We got a special statement from our weather apps that we are in high fire danger conditions. That always freaks me out. I worry so much because people here burn trash and yard debris.
Laurie, great job getting your workouts in as much as possible. I'm glad you're getting to spend a lot more time with your DD and her boys.
We have a couple of fern plants that are at least 3-4 years old. We keep them in the garage during the winter and they have survived.
Chickens have lots of predators. They must sleep above ground. Right before or after the sunset they go as high above the ground as possible. Our hens are not used to going up in the trees because we have the coop, but they know to go up to the coop at that time. Roosty is a game rooster, and I was told they sleep high up in trees.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was very nice. Friday was about as nice of a day as a person could find in November, and we spent it playing golf. It was wonderful. The rest of the weekend was warm and sunny though breezier and cloudier, and we did a number of indoor and outdoor chores and running errands.
For workouts, on Friday I did Cathe Live Build and Burn Upper Body followed by Rhythmic Step. Saturday was Cathe Live Jab, Jump and Kick followed by Cathe Live Yoga and Mobility Fusion. Yesterday was a 45 minute spin into Cathe Live One Dumbbell Total Body (all unilateral moves, which I loved) and today was Cathe Live Met Con Mash Up, RWH Low Impact One and Peloton yoga.
Laurie, great workouts. I am glad you enjoyed the fabric band work. I admit to struggling with the fabric bands. Some moves are fine. Others…not so much. But I keep trying. I hope your weather was good enough this weekend you were able to get some outdoor work done.
Thelma, great workouts. Your food solutions sound wonderful to be honest. I love blended bowls. Have you talked to your doctor yet about your loss of appetite and hormones? I am just curious. I really hope you get some appetite back soon. That has to be so frustrating.
See you tomorrow.

Morning Ladies,
We had a nice quiet weekend, but it wasn't all that warm. Like today we have a very cool breeze going, so the outdoor work that we need to do will have to wait. Hopefully we get one day soon that isn't breezy.
For workouts I did yoga both days this weekend, and this morning. I did a All Standing Core Training workout with Lindsey. I so enjoy those all standing ab workouts.
Thelma, Great job with all those workouts! I like your bowl, it sounds a lot like the cottage cheese bowl that I have for lunch sometimes. I put in cucumber, red onion, chick peas, cottage cheese, red wine vinegar and olive oil. The only chickens I new growing up where the plain white chickens and roosters.
Laurel, Very nice workouts! I'm sure you will be having fun doing some of the live workouts. Those band workouts remind me of the leg work that Billy Banks would do in his Tae Bo workouts. He would really torture the butt even without those bands. Glad to hear that you had a nice weekend.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! My workouts on Monday were walking and power yoga. I have serious DOMS from CG's leg workout. I used heavier weights than I'd been using lately. I guess I did a good job with the exercises. LOL
I ran out time and couldn't get my upper body workout in. DH had run out of bread, and I had to make him more. I also made a new recipe that was a lot of work but was a huge hit.
DH can't have cream cheese, so I used ricotta cheese instead. The dish tasted just like fetucinne alfredo! It was delicious. The recipe is definitely a keeper. I added mushrooms and extra lettuce. Next time I would add more of both. I also brushed the cut side of the squash with a little olive oil and sprinkled it with pink salt and black pepper. I think that 1/2 teaspoon of salt the recipe calls for is too much, so don't add it all at once. Add half, mix it in and taste to see if you need more. We had the squash with grilled steak, but it would go perfect with chicken, shrimp, salmon.
https://divaliciousrecipes.com/stuffed-spaghetti-squash-spinach-artichoke/I'm so glad you both thought my food bowl sounded good. I am still hopeful that one day I'll find the right seasonings for chicken that my taste buds enjoy.
The fitness influencer I'm following who loves cottage cheese because of its nutritional value has convinced me to add a serving to my meals. It goes well with eggs. It's amazing how its taste seems to change when combined with other foods. It's a good taste for me.It's time to start looking at the forest fire map again. There have been two fires in our county and one of them is fairly close to us. They've both been contained. There was an out of control fire in Baner Elk, NC yesterday.
DH's last work day before retirement will be 12/19. The university is giving the employees off from the 24th till New Year's off, so DH is taking the 22nd and 23rd as PTO days.
Laurel, to answer your question if I asked my doctor if the hormones could be affecting my appetite. I asked both the GYN and rheumatologist. Neither one of them think it's hormone or medication related. I definitely never thought it was the rheumatology meds because I've been on them for a long time. It can't be the hormones because they're transdermal, which means they'll never hit my digestive system.
I think my appetite is back now that I've found foods I enjoy. I just wish I could eat chicken again.Great workouts. I'm so glad you were able to play golf and spend quality time with your DH.
Laurie, great workouts!
It was chilly here on Monday morning and definitely tonight. We had a pretty windy Sunday, but I didn't think it was chilly.See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute sprint interval spin into ICE Metabolic Total Body. The internet platform for Cathe Live (and lots of other sites) was down this morning so I had to look for a DVD and ended up really enjoying that ICE workout. I followed it with some juicy yoga.
Laurie, great workouts. I am sorry it is too cold to do much outside, though. We are back in the mid-70s today and breezy. I raked leaves yesterday and am stunned at how dry everything is. Like Thelma, I am getting a bit concerned about fires, especially because of the breeziness. Fingers crossed for some moisture soon.
Thelma, great workouts. Sounds like you are challenging yourself in a good way. Thank you for the recipe. DH loves squash so he will enjoy this one. I am glad you talked to your doctors. I am also glad to hear you say you have an appetite again. Hopefully you will develop a taste for chicken again, but it sounds like you are finding good nutritious meals without it.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking and CG Iron Day 2 - Chest, Back and Shoulders.
I hit my inner thighs big time on Sunday. I still have DOMS. LOLLaurel, great workouts! I heard there was a big internet outage! Thank goodness for those DVDs!
I love the Iron program and this time around I can challenge myself more. On the upper body workout I did Tuesday, CG did shoulders at the end. My arms were pretty fried by then, so I had to go with lighter weights.
I am glad my appetite is back and that I'm finding nutritious recipes to eat because I had been making bad food choices when my appetite was bad.
I can't wait to hear how your DH likes that squash recipe. I had no idea what to expect or that it was going to turn out tasting like fettuccine alfredo! Just make sure you mix the cheeses well before adding the squash noodles.
Next week is Thanksgiving and I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the turkey breast I always make, so I told DH to have a hamburger party ready to go on the grill for me, just in case. LOLI visited my plants in the garage yesterday, and I can't believe the tender plants are still alive!
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
I'm having way to much fun being retired that I forget to get online. So sorry about that. Yesterday I did Lindsey's Full Body Functional Strength workout. Those type of workouts always get the hr up. This morning was a Shadow Boxing workout with Kelly. Of course I also did my yoga.
Yesterday I went to visit my youngest and had my hair colored and cut. I have been growing out my hair. Now that I'm through the hot flashes, I decided that it would be okay to have longer hair. When going through menopause I couldn't stand hair on my neck. So far so good, and I can actually put my hair in a very small ponytail. 😀
Thelma, Great job with the workouts! I love that you are so dedicated to making the bread for your DH, sounds like he really enjoys your efforts. Very scary about the fire dangers that are around you. We have not had to worry about that issue. We had rain all day yesterday, so I was busy cooking. I would just stick to the burgers and nix the turkey. Unless your DH really loves turkey. ☺️
Laurel, Awesome job with your workouts! We have been very lucky to get out of the 30's around here. DH is up at the shop putting in the steering column for his car that has been getting painted. In order to get the car home, he has to be able to steer it into the car hauler. The shop is so pleased with the paint job that they want him to show the car in Chicago next year. This car is going to be pretty. Today would be a perfect day for doing our outdoor work, but with DH being at the shop today that will not happen. Hopefully tomorrow.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Metabolic Conditioning 2025 followed by Cathe Live Kick Punch Cardio (so much fun!) and yin yoga.
Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you are enjoying the Iron program. I am with Laurie on the turkey breast. I would just go with a hamburger for sure. We’ve decided not to mess with a turkey at all this year. It has been a weird autumn and with the weather being so warm, the thought of cooking all day just does not sound appealing. I think we are supposed to cool off a bit next week, but our low last night was 65……which is higher than our highs should be. Just crazy.
Laurie, great workouts. I’m glad you are enjoying your retirement. You can send some of your cooler air this way if you would like. 😊 I hope you and your DH are able to show his car next year. My hair has gotten pretty long as well, and it doesn’t bother me as much as it used to either.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Wednesday's workouts were walking, precision yoga and CG Iron Day-3 Glutes.
We got a little bit of surprise rain early Wednesday morning. It was only 0.2", but we'll take it! Everything got wet.Laurie, I'm so glad you're enjoying retirement! Great workouts!
I love that you're letting grow out! It's always exciting when you can finally pull your hair in a ponytail.DH loves the breads I make for him. I love making the breads for him. I also make after dinner dessert cakes.
DH does like turkey, so I'll make it for him. I want to try it too, but I also need a plan B.Laurel, great workouts!
Wednesday was pretty warm around here. I'm still heaving from the forecasters that we'll have a cold front come our way around early December. Can you believe December is just around the corner? Crazy!I don't think DH would have a problem with going the burger route for Thanksgiving. He loves burgers. We just buy a 4# turkey breast, so it isn't that much work.
See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 45 minute spin followed by Cathe Live Muscle Burnout and some Peloton yoga. And I am getting ready to go rake leaves which will definitely be another workout today. There are a lot of leaves out there.
Thelma, great workouts. Lucky you getting some rain! We just got the humidity. When I got up this morning at 5am, it was 65 degrees outside with 100% humidity and a dew point over 60 degrees. In other words, it felt like July outside. Just insane. They had originally predicted a cold spell for next week, but that keeps getting pushed off, so you are probably right that it will be December before it arrives. I am so not ready for it to be December yet! I have no idea where time is going these days.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were walking and Yin yoga.
We got more rain tonight. I don't think it was anything measurable, but it got things wet.Laurel, great workouts! Raking leaves is definitely another workout!
Wow! It really is warm and humid there!
Our forecast is showing nighttime temps in the low 30's toward the end of next weekHave a great weekend!

Morning Ladies,
Yesterday I had just finished my workout when the boys and mom arrived. For some reason a Jillian workout was appealing to me, so I did 30 Day Shred Level 1 and then my yoga. This morning I did her Kickbox Fastfix Workout 1 followed by yoga. Don't know if I will continue with the Jillian workouts, but so far it has been a fun revisit. She is very much into bodyweight type moves, so I think that is what appeals right now.
Laurel, Awesome job with those workouts! I don't envy you having to rake all those leaves. Thankfully all of ours are off the ground and ready to be burned. We do have one pear tree that never drops it's leaves until after the snow starts to fly. This year it is really pretty. I will be making the whole Thanksgiving dinner, all the kids will be coming over. One of these days one of the girls will have to start taking over.
Thelma, Great job with the workouts! For sure you will need to make that turkey if your DH really loves it. I'm planning on just doing a breast in the slow cooker and then putting some drum sticks in the oven. My SIL is smoking a whole turkey so I think that we will have enough turkey between those two. Not everyone enjoys smoked meat, so I always need something else.
Have a great weekend,
Laurie

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Metabolic HiiT into Cathe Live Combat Cardio followed by yoga. My body felt tired today, but the workout helped.
Thelma, great workouts. We got some rain yesterday and this morning as well. It isn’t amounting to anything other than, as you said, making things wet. But it is nice to see nonetheless. Fortunately I got my raking done before it rained yesterday. Unfortunately the rain has knocked a ton of leaves off the trees so I will be back out there tomorrow. Sigh.
Laurie, great workouts. I bet it is fun to revisit Jillian’s workouts. Your Thanksgiving sounds nice with your family there. That transition from ‘Mom makes Thanksgiving dinner’ to ‘I make Thanksgiving dinner’ is a tough one. My oldest niece (who is getting married in February) is upset with my sister this year because her husband’s family decided that eating out was a better option this year, and my sister agreed. I guess my niece can’t envision a Thanksgiving not cooked by mom. I laughed. She might change her mind after she’s cooked 35 Thanksgiving dinners. 😂
Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a good weekend. We had a really nice weekend, and I spent Sunday afternoon in the kitchen making dinner and doing some meal prep.
I experimented seasoning three skinless chicken thighs with three different seasonings, one flavor each. I let the chicken marinate in the fridge for a couple of hours, then had DH grill it so that the outside was charred and the inside was still juicy. I liked two of the seasonings. They're both rubs. One is blackened seasoning and the other one is a BBQ rub that somehow I found and people said it was delicious. I only had one bite of each because it was an experiment and I was making beef stew with butternut squash for dinner. I am now dreaming of a salad with that chicken and I'll make a creamy dressing to go with it. The charred part is key for me it seems because that's how I like my burgers and steak. Where I come from we cook meat to death. LOL. I'm excited about eating chicken again.I am focusing more on my protein intake. I made beef sliders as part of my meal prep as an extra source of protein for my breakfast. They're two ounces each, so they're literally meant to add just a little more protein. I am also eating cottage cheese again. I am enjoying it as a side dish with my eggs, ground beef and today I tried it as a dessert with fresh raspberries. Yummy!
My workouts on Friday were Sculpting Pilates and walking.
Saturday - walking.
Sunday - walking and CG Iron Day 5 - Arms, Abs and Core.
I was scheduled to do Iron Day 4, but it is a full body workout. I always need a day off after a full body workout, so I'll do it later on in the week.Laurie, great workouts! I love how you add so much variety to your workouts.
How's your DH doing? How exciting that you'll have all the kids over for Thanksgiving. I think you should decide which one of your girls will be doing Thanksgiving next year before they go home on Thursday! LOL
I am feeling hopeful that I'll be able to eat the turkey on Thursday.
OMG the drumsticks sound wonderful! I can't remember the last time I ate a turkey drumstick. Maybe at Disney 22 years ago!Laurel, great workouts! You did a lot on Thursday, it's no wonder you felt tired.
I'm glad you got a little rain too. Sorry you had to rake more. DH was out there today blowing leaves with the leaf blower. Can you use a leaf blower? Here he blows them into a ravine. In MA though, he used to blow the leaves onto a large tarp, then he'd grab all four corners, and dragged the tarp to the woods in the back of our property.
The cold front is due to get here on Tuesday. The forecastersare saying we're going to get steady rain on Tuesday afternoon. I hope they're right!
Have a wonderful week!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was good. DH spent a few days last week visiting his parents, so he came home on Saturday evening. Yesterday was a gloriously beautiful day so we played golf. I also did a lot of raking on Saturday and still more to come no doubt.
For workouts, on Saturday I did a 75 minute yoga class from Peloton which felt fantastic. Yesterday was Cathe Live Lower Body Power Sculpt and Cross Fire Extreme premix. It has been several years since I have done that latter workout, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed doing it again. Cathe filmed four bonus workouts (to go with her new series) that she posted directly to her On Demand App, and I decided to do those this week. Today was Chest, Triceps and Shoulders, and I really enjoyed this workout. It was short, the moves were basic, the pace was good so I was able to lift heavy and it just felt really no nonsense, and I like that. I followed it with a 45 minute spin and more yoga.
Thelma, great workouts. I am so happy to hear that you have found a way to enjoy chicken again. Like you, I cook most of my meats to death (DH has finally got me to not do that on the rare occasions we have steak but everything else is done) so I like a good char as well. Sounds like you are experimenting with some good flavors and well as quality nutrition. We don’t have a leaf blower powerful enough to blow our leaves into the nature area behind us. And based on how long it takes our neighbors to clear their lawns with their blowers……raking goes much more quickly. If I stay on top of it, it isn’t brutal work. But if I don’t, it is. DHs back can’t handle it anymore, and I imagine there will a time mine won’t either. And we’ll figure something out when that happens I suppose. We have a cold front coming through tomorrow as well, but they are calling for pretty violent weather here with high winds and possibly hail. I would prefer a nice gentle rain, but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose.
See you tomorrow.

Hello Ladies,
We had a nice weekend. I have been trying out some no knead bread and so far DH says to keep making the bread. My sourdough starter died, so I have been starting another batch. That is the reason for the no knead with yeast. Overall I really enjoy the taste of the bread. This morning I made a blueberry pie. Testing out a new recipe. DH said there was to much lemon in it. The recipe did have zest in it also, so I think that I will just nix that out of the filling.
For workouts I did yoga both Saturday and Sunday. This morning was yoga and Kelly's 30 MTF Weights workout 2 which is biceps, triceps, shoulders and abs.
Laurel, Great job with those workouts! I don't know if my DH would be able to handle not getting his stuffing on that day. I would probably have to make that just for him if we went out for Thanksgiving. He would also want me to make pumpkin pie. I just have to teach the girls how to make those two items. I have not been following the new workouts. Glad that you where able to enjoy the ones that she put online.
Thelma, Love the workouts! DH is doing fairly well. He is just frustrated with the wait for surgery. I'm a huge fan of the turkey drumstick. I would rather eat the dark meat instead of the white.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Monday's workouts were walking and CG Iron Day 6 - Quads.
I forgot to tell you that my puppy is now walking on the treadmill with me. We both fit on the treadmill side by side, which is perfect. I wanted to attach a short video, but MFP doesn't accept the video format.
Laurel, great workouts and good job keeping up with the raking!
I'm glad you enjoyed Cathe's workouts.I am happy to have found a way to eat chicken. You are the second person I know that likes to cook their meat to death. I have a friend who also likes her food well done. When we go out for burgers, I always ask the person taking our order to make it extra, extra well done. My friend does the same thing!
I'm sorry you can't use your leaf blower on those leaves! Raking is a back breaking job. I sure don't miss it.
I was reading our weatherman's report for the next few days and he did mention that Alabama was going to get the violent weather. Be safe!Laurie, I'm glad you had a nice weekend! Great workouts!
Sorry your sourdough died. Did you store in the fridge when not in use? Mine lives in the fridge. Sorry the blueberry pie didn't turn out the as good as you expected it. Can you reduce the lemon portion?I don't blame your DH for being frustrated. He's having to wait a long time for his surgery.
See you tomorrow and Happy Thanksgiving in case you don't have time to post.

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe’s On Demand LMR2 Lower Body Strength, Cathe Live Advanced Step Choreography and Peloton yoga. The leg workout was in the same series as the workout I did yesterday, and it was a good one as well.
Laurie, great workouts. Your baking sounds wonderful! I love a good blueberry pie, that’s for sure. I think it is my favorite fruit pie, especially in the summer. It’s funny you mention stuffing. DH and I are planning a very simple Thanksgiving that, until yesterday, wasn’t going to include stuffing. I decided yesterday I want some, and DH was so happy he volunteered to go get all of the ingredients for me. I think he wanted to make sure I wouldn’t change my mind, but it made me smile. I guess some things just have to be, and Thanksgiving stuffing is one of those things.
Thelma, great workouts. I love that your pup walks with you on the treadmill! That is too cute. Our weather here wasn’t bad at all this morning. We had a lot of rain, but the wind wasn’t nearly as bad as they predicted. It seems the most violent of the weather stayed south of us, and I am fine with that. I ended up raking again yesterday afternoon since it was dry and the leaves are much easier to pick up when they are dry. And I think the raking season may be over or very nearly over. It was breezy and there were few leaves falling. Even after this morning’s storm, there are few leaves. So the trees lost their leaves fast this year, which makes since given that freeze we had. I will be glad to hang the rake back up for sure. I am a ‘no pink’ in my burger person for sure. Just……no on raw ground beef for me.
See you tomorrow.

Hello Ladies,
We have cloudy and rain today. So on with the baking! My second attempt at the blueberry pie was much better. I think that I can bring that one to the pie social at church tonight without feeling like I made a disaster. 😀 It is out in the garage right now cooling, so crossing my fingers that it gels up enough and I don't have a runny mess.
My workout today was yoga and Kelly's 30MTF Split Sessions workout 2. This one is legs, and I really like the combo of these two workouts.
Thelma, Wonderful job with your workouts! I took out the lemon zest in the filling so now you don't taste all that lemon. Yes I had the sourdough in the fridge, but I didn't use for a major length of time. It's okay, I so enjoy just making the starter. Must be the chemistry that goes on. I have one more day with a double feeding of my new starter, and then I will be able to test a loaf. I think it is great that you are on the treadmill with your pup. That has to be really cute.
Laurel, Nice workouts! I don't know about the advanced step though. 😀 We probably need the stuffing, because that is one thing that I only make once a year. I can even eat those leftovers cold, I like it so much. I think you are right on your DH wanting that stuffing. My DH is currently headed to the store because we had to order the turkey legs. I just need my dark meat.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking and CG Iron Day-7 Shoulders & Triceps.
All the crazy weather and rain we were expecting didn't really happen. We got .6 inches of rain for which I'm very thankful for because we need the rain badly. Our next chance of 'showers' will be Sunday.Laurel, great workouts! I'm glad you're liking the LMR2 workouts!
I am glad you got rain and none of the violent weather.
Wet leaves are not fun. Good job raking before the rain. The trees definitely lost their leaves very fast this year.Laurie, good job with the baking and your workouts. I will be preparing some sourdough dinner rolls on Wednesday, but everything else will be done on Thursday.
Great workout. I love split session workouts. I think that is why I love Iron so much.
Refrigerated, unfed sourdough takes time to revive. I have one from early 2024 in my refrigerator and from time to time I throw away the hooch that forms because it's hungry, but I know it's still good. I also allow the started that sticks to my spatula when I take it out of the jar to air dry. I save the dried out started in a little airtight container in case of an emergency You can blend it and use it to make new starter. It will take a little while to gain strenght though.
I hope your new starter is strong enough to make you good bread.Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe On Demand LMR2 Back, Biceps and Shoulders followed by a 45 minute ‘Turkey burn’ spin with Peloton. The strength workout was tough but also felt a bit short. The spin was tougher….but fun! I followed it with some chair yoga, which felt great. Now I am off to make corn bread for my stuffing tomorrow and our cranberry sauce.
Laurie, great workouts! I hope your blueberry pie was a hit. I know I would have liked it. You are right about stuffing. It really is a once-a-year dish. For me it has always been the taste of Thanksgiving more than any other dish.
Thelma, great workouts. We had quite a bit of rain yesterday afternoon after I posted and even some lightening last night. Like you, I am just happy for the rain. Now we are cooling off for the weekend. I think we are going to drop into the 20s for a couple of nights…..a full 40 degrees cooler than a week ago. Crazy autumn for sure.
Happy Thanksgiving!! See you next week!

Hi Ladies! Wednesday's workout was Yin and walking.
The second cold front this week is here. We could feel it getting colder throughout the afternoon. It's pretty windy too.
I prepared a new sourdough dinner roll recipe. I hope they are good. I only made five. The dough was very soft and easy to work with. I allowed the dough to double in size, shaped the rolls and refrigerated them. I'll allow them to raise at room temp in the afternoon.
Laurel, great workouts!
That corn stuffing and cranberry sauce sounds great!I'm glad you got some rain too. This weather is insane!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. We had a good one and I am happy to report that I was able to eat and enjoy the turkey. I even ate leftovers on Friday. I think I'm back to normal. I made turkey chili on Sunday and I was also able to eat it.
I wrote to the company that makes the calcium supplement that now I know made me sick. I didn't know why it made me sick. It was a process of elimination that took almost two months to get out of my system. They actually wrote back to tell me that if I was taking over 600mg of magnesium it could cause stomach issues. It is quite possible that between their supplement and others that I take plus foods I was taking over 600mg. Magnesium helps with the absorption of calcium.
My workouts were as follows. On Thanksgiving I walked. Friday walking and Pilates sculpting. Saturday walking. Sunday walking and CG Iron Day-8 Glutes & Hamstrings.
We got 0.4 inches of rain between Saturday night and Sunday morning. There's morning rain coming too. The forecasters are saying that the next two weeks will be rainy. They're also predicting that December will be warm and rainy. We'll take it!
Have a wonderful week!

Morning Ladies,
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and of course the weekend with my family. Always great to get together, and the kids end up exhausted from all the water park fun. For the most part I took care of the little one so that my oldest could enjoy the water. Of course today I'm pretty tired, you really don't get that great of sleep when not in your own bed.
I forgot to get a pick of the quilt that I gave away this weekend. My nieces fiance was the name that was drawn. Might be able to get my niece to take a pic of it.
While we where at the Dells it snowed all day Saturday, so we came home to almost 11 inches of snow. The drive was really good, the DPW had the freeways cleared. Our Village didn't plow our neighborhood until 9pm on Sunday.
I did yoga on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday was a busy one for us, so I didn't get anything in before we left. Of course I didn't do anything on Saturday of Sunday either. This morning was Kelly's 30MTF Muscle Definition Workout 1. Of course this one was over 30 minutes. 😀
Laurel, Great job with all the workouts! So glad that you are enjoying those LMR 2 workouts. I think the stuffing and pumpkin pie are what I enjoy most. My blueberry pie was gone, so I had an empty pie plate at the end of the social. I think that in the future I will need to use wild blueberries. I'm sure that DH will not mind my experimenting again. 😀
Thelma, Love all the workouts! I'm happy to say that my bread turn out perfect, and my SIL really loved it. Of course if will get better and better over time. Glad to hear that you are getting some much needed rain. Our temps will be in the teens and 20's over the next week. It sure is pretty outside, but for sure this might be the snow winter that they said it would be.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Sounds like you both enjoyed the Thanksgiving weekend. We did too. Our Thanksgiving, though simple, was pleasantly busy but nice. I decided at the absolute last minute that I needed pumpkin bread so DH was at the only grocery store open in Huntsville buying groceries on Thursday morning. But it was so worth it! I think it was the best thing I made that day, and it made the house smell wonderful. Friday we spent some time decorating the outside of the house for Christmas. DH’s company sponsors families at Christmas time, so we had gifts to buy for two families. We did that on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Shopping on Black Friday is not on my list of things I enjoy doing, but it wasn’t too bad, and we were able to get everything on the lists provided. DH, unfortunately, had to fly to Virginia yesterday for a meeting he is at today, so our weekend was cut a bit short. Yesterday was dreary, foggy and rainy, so I spent a good part of it with a book.
For workouts, on Thursday I did Kick, Punch and Crunch and Peloton yoga. Friday was LMR2 Bonus Total Body workout and Party Rockin’ Step 1. Saturday was Cathe Live Kickboxing Crush and Peloton yoga. Yesterday was a 45 minute spin into 45 minute of Peloton Pilates + Yoga. And today I started a new rotation which is going to be a blend of STS 1 and 2, along with the Gym Style workouts, the RWH Lift It HiiT It workouts and the strength workouts from XTrain (with a few random Cathe Live Metabolic workouts thrown in as well). Right now I have it set for six weeks and then I will assess if I want to do more. Today’s workout was Gym Style Chest and Triceps, Cathe Live SLAM HiiT, and LITE Abs and Extended Stretch 2.
Thelma, great workouts. I am so happy to hear you were able to enjoy turkey this weekend and are feeling back to normal. I am also glad that you reached out to the calcium company. At least you have some answers on what happened and why. We are supposed to get a rain soaking tonight, and it will be cold tomorrow for sure. The rain is needed because even with what we got last week, we were still 2” short of precipitation for November. So here is hoping the rain continues.
Laurie, great workouts. Your Thanksgiving and weekend sound wonderful. I would love to see a picture of your quilt if you can get one. I was wondering if you got hit with a lot of snow, and it sounds like you did. I am glad your travels weren’t negatively impacted though. I am glad your blueberry pie was a hit. But the best kind of blueberry pie is with wild berries for sure. And, no doubt, you probably get some great blueberries up there in the summer.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! It's been raining pretty hard here since 8PM. Yaay! We need this rain badly.
My workouts on Monday were Yoga, walking and CG Iron Day-10 Back & Biceps.
I am loving the Iron workouts! Yesterday's Glutes and Hamstrings was a good one and I'm feeling it today.Laurie, I'm so glad you had a great Thanksgiving holiday with your family. I understand what you mean about not being able to get a great sleep when you're not in your own bed!
I hope your niece is able to take a picture of the quilt for you!
11 inches of snow already! Yikes! At least you don't have to commute to work in that stuff anymore!
Yesterday the weather guy said December would be warmer than average and rainy. Today the prediction had changed to colder than average the first half of December.Great workouts!
I'm so glad your bread and the blueberry pie were big hits with your family!Laurel, I am glad you and your DH had a good Thanksgiving weekend! That pumpkin bread sounds wonderful!
Black Friday shopping in person is not fun, at least not now that I'm older. You did for an excellent cause, which is wonderful!
Sorry your DH had fly to Virginia. I hope he's back home now.Great workouts! Your new rotation sounds really good!

Morning Ladies,
We had more snow last night, just about an inch. At least the snow plows where on top of it, although they did leave a big pile right in the middle of the cross street. The neighbor across from us took his snow blower and took care of it.
Today's workouts where yoga and Kelly's 30MTF LIFT Olympic Lifting workout. I upped the weight and I was beat at the end of this workout.
I just had to get up to scare a woodpecker. He is pecking at the house and the constant tapping is making me crazy. 😀 I probably look crazy running out there with my boots and regular clothes on.
Laurel, Awesome job with all the workouts! Love that you needed that fall flavor of pumpkin. It's funny how I don't crave that flavor until it gets to fall. Glad to hear that you didn't have a crazy time with the Black Friday shopping. Those dreary days are so nice to just do something that is relaxing.
Thelma, Great workouts! Sounds like Iron series is a hit again with you. I'm very thankful that I don't have to drive in this snow anymore unless I want to. I'm heading out to the store in a few minutes. I have to make some soup with the leftover turkey. I'm probably going to put some dumplings in it.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 30 minute spin into Gym Style Legs and 20 minutes of Peloton Pilates. I am feeling the Gym Style Chest/Tricep workout today and know I will feel the leg one tomorrow. Good stuff.
Thelma, great workouts. I am glad you are enjoying the Iron series. We had rain all night last night and now it is cold. I don’t think we will get out of the 30s today, though we will warm up a bit tomorrow. But it doesn’t look like there are very warm temperatures in our future, so our forecast must be similar to yours in a cool early December. DH is back in Huntsville and, hopefully, will be here for the remainder of the year.
Laurie, great workouts. We’ve had woodpeckers tap away at our house as well, and it can be so annoying. And our house is brick! Crazy birds. Your soup sounds wonderful. Everything is better with dumplings. 🙂 I rarely crave pumpkin, even in the fall, so whatever it was this year was new for me. But, again, it was SO good that this might become a routine. I revised my recipe a bit to add some orange zest and roasted pecans, and that actually brought out the pumpkin flavor quite a bit. Now I’m hungry. 😁
See you tomorrow.
