A favorite in our house is as follows:

    4 chicken breasts
2 cans Campbell's low fat cream soup (we use chicken, but you can use anything)
    1/4 cup cornmeal
    1 TSP flour

Throw the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot. Pour the 2 cans of soup overtop. Cook on low 8 hours or high 4 hours.

1/2 hour before finished mix cornmeal & flour together. Sprinkle on top of mixture.

The result? Yummy creamy chicken with a cornbread type crust on top. YUM.

This sounds really good. Have any idea what kind of calories are in it??

i've posted this to several people- but its healthy and absolutely delicious! (even better cold!)

    * 2 cans corn
    * 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, uncooked, cubed
    * 2 cans black beans, rinsed and drained
    * 1 jar chunky salsa
    * 1/4 cup grated, sharp cheddar cheese (optional)

cook on low for 8-10 hours.
    add cheese last 15 minutes
it's probably my favorite meal ever- enjoy!

    15 bean soup

one bag 15 bean soup (you'll have to soak them overnight in water)
    one smoked turkey leg
    2 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp garlic salt
    1 tsp salt and pepper
    one whole onion, chopped
    one green bell pepper chopped
    1 bay leaf
    one can fire roasted tomatoes

Throw it all in the crock pot and cover with water (the bag of beans will specify how much) cook for 6-8 hours. whatever you have time for..so good, healthy, and filling

i made "lazy man cabbage rolls' the other day in the crockpot [could do reg ones as well..

just chopped up cabbage and onion put it in the crock pot.
put in some ground beef [broken up so its doesnt cook as a big lump lol
    1 cup of rice
can of diced or crushed tomatoes poured over top
and about a can [from the tomatoes] of water poured over top
set on low and let it go

check on it at somepoint incase you need more water for the rice..i think i put mine to cook a bit too long and so rice was a bit mushy but still enjoyed it :)

most recipes call for can of tomato soup but i didn't see the need for the extra cals :)
its in the data base if you type in cabbage rolls you will see lazyman ones, i think it's like 2 Cups for 200 something cals :)

easy recipe to adapt to your own tastes.

I also do pretty much any kind of meat with soup

so like a roast with onion soup
chicken or pork chops with cream of mushroom soup

there are lots of stews, soups, lentil stew, and rice type casseroles out there too if you google :flowerforyou:

i really need to start using mine more often.

This may be a dumb question, but keep in mind i suck at cooking...do i have to cook the hamburger before i put it in the crock pot? I would like to make this on monday for the family:) thank-you for helping out this poor cook!

Some people do and some people don't. Personally, I do because I like the additional flavor and color of browning the meat in a skillet (make sure to add a little salt and pepper while browning). Also, I like to brown the meat so that I can drain off the grease if there is any.

    my FAVORITE is salsa chicken.

    2 pounds of chicken breasts
    1 large jar of salsa
1 can of whole corn kernels, drained
1 can of black beans, drained

put the chicken and salsa in the crockpot, cook on low for about six to seven hours.

a half hour before, add the corn and black beans.

it's sooo good! i make this at least once a week. sometimes i serve it in either
a whole wheat soft tortilla or i'll use the flatout wraps.

We make this too....super yummy. My kids cannot have wheat, so we do corn chips instead and they love it!

You can make almost anything in the crock pot! I am also in school and wk full time. My husband and always use the crock pot meal so when we come home from the gym I can scarf and run to school. We make stuffed bell peppers or stuffed pablanos in the crock pot, yum! Just make a sort of meat loaf mixture and stuff bell pepper pour a little tomato sauce on the bottom and on the top cook on low about 4-5 hours. Delish!!

    Slow Cooked Chicken:

herbs of ur likin in any amount (i don't add any salt or pepper 2 this but it's 2 ur preference)
1 - 10 oz can of chicken broth
1 - 10 oz can of cream of chicken
1 - 10 oz can of cream of mushroom
1 - 10 oz can of cream of celery
2 - 10 oz cans of water (or until the liquid covers the chicken)
1-2 cups of dry rice (ur preference)
skinless boneless chicken breasts (i normally just cut the chicken breasts in half & have had as many as 16 halves (8whole breasts, u can use less but my crock pot is big enuff 4 this)

put chicken broth, cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, & cream of celery w/dry rice into the crockpot. cook on high for abt 15-20min so that the rice will start 2 soften.

add uncooked chicken in2 pot. if the liquid doesn't cover the chicken then add water until it's sufficiently covered.

cook on high for 3hrs. & u're done.
