    Also , woke up in the middle of the night with my heart racing one night and it scared the HOLY, LIVING CRAP out of me......it just wasn't worth it anymore to be that overweight and keep kidding myself that I was ok...I was not ok. !!!

    Turning 40 was the HUGEST influence ....it was time to start living....and get busy!

    Honestly, I would have to say pure vanity. I want to look incredible in my wedding dress, in any dress, bikinis, and even naked. Also, there is a little bit of jealousy in there. My sister was always the big one out of the two of us, and now shes dropped weight like crazy, and she looks like a skinny, golden goddess. I want to be able to stand beside her and not feel like people are embarrassed for her.

    Because I'm a 30 year plus smoker and I want to quit, really quit.

    My brother and sister are both overweight and I've been lucky enough to stay slim, I'm sure the smoking helped. My past endeavors to quit smoking have been side lined because as soon as I gain 5 pounds I start smoking again. This time I did things differently. About 8 weeks prior to my quit date I started using this site and counting calories. Then an exercise program got incorporated into my life next. Before even quitting I was in the habit of eating right and exercising. So, I am now on day 18 smoke free and I have not gained a pound. I know this time is going to be the last time I have to deal with this issue!!!

    I failed with quitting smoking twice before it stuck. Part of that failure was the weight gain. I'm smoke free 4.5 years now and managed to only gain 5 lbs at the time.
