    Quote of the day:
To be, wealthy, happy and successful in and all areas of of your life you need to be aware that you need to think healthy, wealthy, and successful thoughts twenty-four hours a day and cancel all destructive, fearful and unhappy thoughts. These two types of thoughts cannot coexist if you want to share in the abundance that surrounds us all.

Going to have a good day today, I am trying to be positive about my pain and wanting to snack. It is 3 days before I weigh for the week so if I have some good low sodium days it will be better than the pitiful 0.2 lb loss last week. ha ha.
I really feel for those of you that are having difficulty with health or family/SO, it is hard sometimes to read of all your obstacles. I am the kind of person who likes to go fix thing and when I can't it bothers me. I will just have to pray for you and tell you from me and the group you do have people thinking of you and we are in your corner.

My Tuesday goal today is: to stay out of the kitchen 2 hrs before I go to bed. To not get myself down about tomorrow being a Wednesday and therefore a weigh-in day at my TOPS group. I am giving the program, and it will be on my pack of "Beccas Healthy Hints" that I have accumliated over the past couple of months. I have been writing on index cards great sayins, mottos, hints, mantras, and postive affrimations and hopefully they will get a kick from them all. Plus it might give way to some great discussions. Wish me luck!

Well, today I woke up completely exhausted and with a sore throat. I ended up taking the morning off so I could sleep. The extra sleep helped and I made it through a half day. Came home and slept for a couple of hours. Fever went up and I ended up at Righttime Care. I have strep throat and will be off work until Friday. Now, I get to rest for a couple of days. On top of this I am sore from last night's workout. The workout most likely put me over the edge allowing the bacteria to take hold.

News is not good on my Dad, the heart doctors are trying to determine the best course of action either medicine or surgery. Chances are he will not survive surgery. Please continue to pray for him.

Goinstd12- Enjoy Atlanta and say Hi to Susan for us. She is great company and wonderful tour guide.

@laurie-- sorry to hear the prognosis isn't great for your dad, and you're sick on top of it. I'm sure stress has played a role. Take care of yourself--you and your family are in my thoughts.

@becca-- good luck presenting tomorrow; I'm sure you will do great!.

@tracy-- have a great trip to ATL and give susan a hug from me!

@ushkii-- thanks for the reminder about sodium. I haven't been paying any attention to that and I'm sure it's playing a role in my weight being up.

AFM--I'm going to skip more personals b/c my laptop is acting hinky--think it may be a virus. :(

Went to the ortho and really liked him. He listened to my goal to get back to full mobility and lifting. After assessing my strength and mobility, he is confident I have a fairly serious rotator cuff injury. He said his course of treatment is always to try a cortisone shot before scheduling an MRI b/c he could do it immediately in his office. He said if it works, it should bring my pain level down about 70% allowing me increased mobility to properly rehab it with PT. So I got the shot and am diligently icing it as per doctor's orders.

Next step is to call tomorrow to schedule some more PT appts, and email the ortho next week to let him know if the shot had the desired effect. If not, he'll immediately schedule an MRI to see if I need a surgical referral. If yes, PT for 4-6 weeks to see if healing progresses. If healing doesn't progress, then the MRI. Cross your fingers that the shot works and allows me to rehab the shoulder without surgery.

    May Challenge:
Nutrition = At or over 90 grams of protein 5/7 days a week
    Week 1: At/over 90g of protein 1/7
    Week 2: At/over 90g of protein 3/7
    Week 3: At/over 90g of protein 4/7
    Week 4: At/over 90g of protein x/7

    Exercise = run 3 x/week:
    Week 1: 1/3 runs
    Week 2: 1/3 runs
    Week 3: x/3 runs
    Week 4: x/3 runs

    Next 8k is May 9th (Thanksgiving 8k = 56:49, NYE 8k = 57:47, 1/25 = 55:41; 2/28=55:15, 3/29 = 59:15; 5/9 = 59:16)

    Grading Goals:
    1. 32/60 JRPs
    2. x/60 Hemingway analyses
    3. x/60 Quote analyses

    Exercise Goals:
    Sun--walk gunner DONE
Mon--walk gunner DONE + gym NOT DONE
Tues--ortho appt (maybe walk gunner afterward NOPE)
    Wed--meeting
    Thurs--walk gunner + gym
    Fri--walk gunner
    Sat--walk gunner

    Happy Be a Millionaire Day!
Date When Celebrated: Always on May 20th
Be a Millionaire Day is a day everyone wants to enjoy. Everyone wants to enjoy today as a member of the millionaire club.
Okay, so a million bucks ain't what it used to be. But, it is still a lot of money. I have no doubt everyone reading this would like to join the Millionaire's Club. Then, after reaching it, you can work on your qualifications for the Billionaire's Club.
If you are a millionaire, savor and enjoy the day. If not, we offer a number of ways to participate in Be a Millionaire Day:
    • Review your investments. Look for ways to improve them.
    • Review your investment portfolio with a trusted investment or financial planner.
    • Increase your deposits to your savings accounts.
    • Start or add to your 401K. This is always a good starting point.
    • Review your spending. Many Millionaires get there by a combination hard work, sound investment, and frugal spending.
    • Go to a casino.
    • When all else fails ,buy a lottery ticket....just one.
Thought for today: " All I ask is for a chance to prove that money doesn't buy happiness". Author unknown.

I don't know why but I have pulled something again in my L calf, the post scope side. I thought it was getting better and then on flat sidewalk it pulled and I was not even doing any thing strenuous or twisting. It is not as bad as the last couple, I guess it is just a re-injury of the same area. I put heat on it and at bedtime had the DW rub it down with some icy hot then watched Letterman. Tonight will be his last show, boo hoo.

@GOINSTD12 have a great time on your trip
@Annr Keeping out of the kitchen is a great goal!
@Lauriek70 Take care of yourself, will pray for your dad.
@skinnyjeanzbound Your shoulder treatment sounds like my knee treatment. Glad you like the doc, that is a big deal.

    Good day to all,

Life is once again throwing rotten tomatoes at me. I will have to start making fertilzer.
The neighbor on the driveway side turned off her water spigot. Ours is in the far back of the house, so to water the planters (the picture I posted) I have to carry buckets. It takes 3 - 5 gallon buckets to water them. More lifting I guess.

Son is once again digging his hole deeper. I will not go into it but he was supposed to appear in court yesterday and missed. He is now in panic mode.

Hubby has not yet gotten this news and I will have to tell him tonight. I may go for another long bike ride after.

Sister is being snippy today and I am having a hard time with it.

    Good things in my life:
I am 2 pounds away from my next weight loss goal. I am hoping for Tuesday, but will galdly take it when it comes.

Business is very good and I am so glad my bank account is showing a nice number. I will find a way to get all the work done.

Got an unexpected $5,000.00 refund from the IRS. That will make the next two tax payments for me.

Got a free session from the trainer. Starting to like this guy. He also posted these pics on the gym's success page.
The first is the day I joined the gym at about 285, the second is the first day I worked out with this trainer at 254, the third was yesterday at 181.5

@Laurie~I’m sorry that you’re sick and the news on your dad. I’ll continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

@GOINSTD12~Have a fun time in Atlanta and with Susan!

@Karen~I’m glad you liked the ortho doc, I hope the cortisone and subsequent PT works so you can avoid surgery.

@Lori~You have made great strides, awesome!

AFM~A lot going on around here trying to figure out travel to CO while my parents are visiting my sister in early July, so we can surprise them with a 50th Anniversary celebration (their actual anniversary isn't until August but I will be in Alaska). Flights were not cheap! :confounded: Luckily had some points on my credit card to help offset some of that expense. Today I’m hoping the weather holds up so I can go for a bike ride after work, yesterday it rained just as I was leaving work. :frowning:

My wish was to hear from my sister. She is about 2 hrs from me, and the last time we talked on the phone was in January, (and she feel asleep on the phone to me....). She is having a rough time of life, having fibromyalgia, and self medicating the pain that comes with that. So I am low on her priority list...but she called me today! We talked from 12noon until 3pm! It was one of those chats that cleared the air, and hopefully now we can just grow old together, not suddenly find ourselves on the door of 70 yrs old, and being strangers.
Today my meeting went well, but I gained some weight...Grrrr. My program of reading all my index cards of inspirational quotes etc was fun, and I think it was some positive food for thought for them. We had 4 new members because the Weight Watchers in the next town over closed down, so that was nice!
@skinnyjeanzbound Sounds like you have a great positive plan of action for your shoulder. I hope the shot does what it is suppose to do, and relieve some of the pain..Ouchy...Sending you positive thoughts!
@ushkii Ouchy with your left calf! Sending YOU positive thoughts too! Tiger Balm works wonders, but don't touch anything after you rub it on your skin. I had a massage on the beaches of Thailand from a little old lady that used Tiger Balm. Ok combine a couple of grains of sand, AND lying on the beach for most of the day, AND that Tiger Balm.....um was all I was thinking...I THINK I AM on FIRE!!..... On the good side, I didnt peel at all and most of the other Navy wives were like MOLTING when we were flying back to Japan...

Happy World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development!

"In a diverse world, the destruction of cultures is a crime, and uniformity is a dead-end: our aim must be to enhance, in one movement, the diversity that enriches us and the human rights that bring us together."
    Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO
Do One Thing for Diversity and Inclusion
In 2011, a grassroots campaign ‘Do One Thing For Diversity and Inclusion’, celebrating the annual World Day for Cultural Diversity was launched by UNESCO and the UN Alliance of Civilizations.
By encouraging people and organizations from around the world to take concrete action to support diversity, the campaign aims:
    • To raise awareness worldwide about the importance of intercultural dialogue, diversity and inclusion.
    • To build a world community of individuals committed to support diversity with real and every day-life gestures.
    • To combat polarization and stereotypes to improve understanding and cooperation among people from different cultures.
The campaign works through a dedicated Facebook page, serving as a platform for people around the world to share their experiences through posts and videos.

    Happy Thursday to all!
Tried to do some oatmeal in the microwave today and it turn out just as good as on the stovetop. When I am at home I do it on the stovetop and when at work use some store bought packets. The packets have more sugar and sodium and cost more. So my son said he did it in the microwave and the Quaker canister has microwave instruction so I tried it and it worked out great, learn something new everyday. Now I plan to put some in a baggie or container and some raisins in another and take to work. Simple but I feel like I have discovered a revolutionary new food, ha ha.
Went over calories at Sweet Tomatoes last night but it was so good and I was so full, like I did not want to move. I have not been that full for a while, it was something that had happen almost every time I ate in the past when I did not track my meals. I am glad to be reminded of that feeling and will try to be happy with a satisficed feeling after eating a correctly sized meal.

To all of you remember why you hare here, for me it is family, I want to be around as much as I can and be actively involved. I hope to make many more great memoires for me and my family.

@cblue315 Picture are GREAT, such an inspiration. The DW tried to massage me.
@kah68 Hope your trip is fun!
@susan2396 and @GOINSTD12 Looks like you guys are having fun!
@Annr I hope you and your sister become closer and each can live and let live together. I did have my wife rub some icy hot on and that felt good but trying to get her to do that again will be the trick.

I'm back! Will do this week in one quick post because its past midnight and I still have to spend time with my bible and prayers before bed. Haven't being doing that as much as I want, there's my fessing up out of the way. My hubby is almost back to his usual self. He went back to work today and came home early. He still isn't eating properly but is almost there. My fitness for those days he was sick was running upstairs to him, back down to get him water and other things. Back up and back down. Logged it all in MFP! I aggravated an old injury (happened during my last pregnancy) and was unable to workout for a few days but started back on Monday, that's my NSV out of the way too. Today I completed Level 1, 2 and 3 of 30 Day Shred and boy do I feel like I went 10 rounds with Katie Taylor, Irish Boxer and current Irish, European, World and Olympic Champion in 60kg division. I'm tired but happy.
Haven't stepped on the scales in a while so don't know where I stand weight wise so no new goal. Still fighting to get to 77kg or 169lbs.
Well that's it from me till tomorrow.

Lori- I hope you frame those pictures. They really show the progress you have made and how far you have come. The results are fantastic and you are beautiful. The stress of work and my dad are affecting my health at this point. That's why I love exercise, just sad that I can't exercise right now.

Goinstd12 and Susan- Love the picture.

Karen- Good luck with the shoulder, I hope the shot did the job and that PT works.

Kelley- I hope you were able to get your ride in. My goal is to ride this weekend provided I am over strep throat.

The latest update on my dad is that they released from the hospital yesterday afternoon to the rehab center. Luckily, he was sent to the rehab center close to my house, which makes my mom happy. At rehab they will make sure they get him up and walking again, off of oxygen and back to a close to normal life. He will be there for at least a month. Thank you for all the prayers, they are greatly appreciated.

I am still sick but starting to feel better finally. Still exhausted and the throat is a little sore but I hope that by tomorrow I will be feeling better. I will go to work tomorrow but plan to leave at the end of the day. Sadly, I am not climbing tomorrow night either. I don't think I will have the strength or energy to climb after work plus traffic will be a bear tomorrow with people heading to the ocean.

@laurie-- glad to hear the news about your dad and that you are feeling better.

@jorinya-- glad your DH is doing better. I did 30DS a couple of years ago and it was killer! Great job doing all 3 levels!!

@ushkii-- I hate that too full feeling. Just had it yesterday as well while out for our association dinner. :( That's funny about the oatmeal--glad you are having a food revolution. LOL

@lori-- it was lovely here in chicago as well, so I took the opportunity to go for a run outside. Your pictures are amazing--you look like a completely different person!

@becca-- that's great that you heard from your sister. I have two sisters and could never imagine not having them in my life.

@tracy-- great pic of you and susan!! I hope you got to see your family before you had to leave for your flight.

@kelley-- I hope the CO travel works out.

    Thursday Truth:
I overindulged at the union dinner last night, but it was delicious. Did much better today and even went for a run outside.
