I decide to start over with my ticker since I gained some weight back so my new weight is what you see.Hopefully I can get it to move back down to where it was before I went all crazy on the food.I am kind of embarrassed that I let myself gain the weight back but I am moving forward and not back .0

checking in for yesterday:
calories: good
exercise: great - back to 90 minutes at the Y
water: good 64oz
proud: that I worked out hard at the Y even though I didn't want to stay the whole time, didn't make the potato pancake that I wanted when I got home at 8:30pm ... didn't make the most nutritious dinner (bagel & cereal) but at least it was smaller than I normally do on Tuesday nights.
My day started out on a bad note ... my teenager and I got into a fight on our way out the door. I hate that. She lost her 2nd pair of gloves this week (this pair was mine that I borrowed to her yesterday). It is zero degrees here this morning with a -15 wind chill and she wanted to walk to her bus stop with nothing on her hands. I told her she couldn't leave the house until she found some gloves. She didn't find either of the pairs that she lost, was mad at me because she missed her bus, and ended up choosing one white and one black glove so that I would drive her to school. In the process of looking for gloves she tipped over a box of ornaments - so we had to angrily pick those up - luckily I don't think any of them broke. We didn't speak the whole drive to school because we were both mad. Aaaargh! My 9 year old just sat in the back of the car very quietly, close to tears because he hates it when I am angry. That made me feel even worse! I hope the day gets better, but I haven't gotten over my crabbiness yet. I'm even mad at my husband because he let the kids watch a movie last night while I was gone at the Y. I NEVER let them watch a movie on a school night ... so they were up late, and obviously didn't have everything packed up and ready for school this morning. NO TV at our house anymore until all backpacks AND winter wear is ready to go for the next day!0 -
lstpaul - Sorry about the kid issues this morning.
Why must my 3 yr old wake up so freaking early. Hubby left about 5:15 and she started screaming in her room at 5. I left her as i thought she would go to sleep ..nooo...i finally got up at 6...she just sitting in her bed going "mommmy".."mommy"...."mommy"...its nice to be loved but still.
3 more days of school for my older one...she has been soo bad these last few week it just is wearing on me. THe teacher and her came up with a learning contract to implement after they come back ..oh how i wish this will work, she has to do better...
I am soo excited I am off work on friday. I was supposed to take 1/2 day last friday but ended up taking sick time with little one and her pink eye...SO MY KIDS CANNOT GET SICK UNTIL AFTER 1/1 ...i have no more sick days. Friday i want to be for me GOing to do soe christmas shopping and whatever i want....so 2 more days and it is here yipppe.0 -
Last night I had a date with my husband! He seems like a nice guy, I think I'll go out with him again if he asks ;-) It has probably been a few years since we went out for a nice meal.
Needless to say, I went over my calories. Two meals out yesterday - fajitas for lunch with sour cream and chips and salsa (no where near as much I would have had but still!) and then a fancy dinner. I ate some of the rosemary bread w/ butter while we tasted a few wines - then when we chose one the waiter accidently brought us each a glass instead of the bottle. I should have been grateful but NOOOO I had to say "oh, we meant to get the bottle" and he said "No problem, then these glasses are on me!" I counted .75 bottle of wine and that puts a dent in my calories!
We split an appetizer that was lean meat, and I skipped the salad (Ken got one of those wedge salads with blue cheese crumbles all over it - it looked good!) and I ordered a "small plate" of their lamb chops - not as good as if I'd ordered the tuna (meant too!) but it paired well with our wine (I'm pathetic when it comes to wine!). And just coffee for dessert.
I was over 1010 calories yesterday but I am really really proud that I didn't do the "Oh it's a DATE NIGHT we NEVER GET OUT lets not worry about diets!" thing like I normally would have done.
I'll skimp today and get back a couple hundred (there are CREAM PIES on the coffee counter and I'm not going to have ANY!)
Monday I start the 5K101 (g_d help me!)
The kids in my ticker are my grand children - one of the BEST perks of marring an older man - I got to skip kids and go right to grand kids! I love them more than anything!

I love reading everyone's posts, boy this is a hectic time of year huh? Well I'm happy to annouce that the large pizza is all gone (I won't tell you how, just know it's not in the house anymore....or technically is it??) But that's it, no more, no more take out, no more. Puppy is ok to stay in his crate for a few hours at a time, and that gives me time to either go to the gym, or food shop for healthy food. No more using puppy as an excuse to have to order take out or not going to the gym.0
-
Stephanie, I feel you with the pizza. I work part time in a pizza place & so does my bf and he brought home an *extra large* veggie pizza Sunday night. You think "oh, a veggie pizza, that's better than if it was covered in meat." Well, NO it isn't -- not for me. Veggie is my absolute favorite. I wouldn't touch a pizza covered in meat. :ohwell: So, I had 1.5 slices for lunch Monday and Tuesday and today I just didn't feel like having my calories all sucked out by the pizza lunch so I didn't touch it. This morning my boyfriend said "I left you the 2 best slices of the pizza" which was nice and thoughtful (sort of) of him, but my response was "NOOOO!!!! Eat it, eat it, eat it! Please eat it!"
And, nope you sure can't use puppy as an excuse. I have 6 dogs. :devil:0 -
Calories -I am staying under or right at today
Exercise -yes 1 hour baby and 640 calories burnt I may do another hour later on this afternoon.

Good Morning Girls,
lstpaul, I hate it when you have to drop off kids after you just got mad at them. Teenagers are the ones who usually cause that one. Hopefully, things will improve as the day goes on.
lildebbie, no one can explain the mind of a 3 year old. They actually listen to their bodies better than us adults. They know when to fall asleep, wake up, and how much to eat. I wish I still had that kind of ability to listen to my body/
Stephanie, pizza is a killer for me too. Glad it is out of your house (sort of:laugh: )
Jlb, you have strength I do not know how you can work in a pizza joint and still lose weight. You are my new hero
awestfall, girl I am proud of you for sticking it out. For moving forward!!!! You can do this girl.
mstahl, It is the small choices we make that lead to the big results. I am proud of you !!! Congrats on those grandkids:bigsmile: Your husband is a lucky guy!!!!!
I am bragging a little so be prepared:
Okay gals, today I was at school. I am there 2-3 x a week sometimes. I have a daughter in highschool, one in junior highschool and one in elementary school and my son will soon be a kindergardner. Needless to say, I know a lot of teachers. Today I was walking and I saw a teacher I had not seen in a while and she says "Long time no see, how are you?" Before I could answer she says "Wow you have lost weight you look GREAT!!!" She made my day. My family has noticed, one of my neighbors has noticed, so it was nice to have someone notice from school. The other day a girl from church says to me "You look really good, what is different about you, You look extra good" I said maybe it is because I lost some weight? She says Yah, thats probably it. It took 40 pounds for people to start noticeing, that is a bit depressing but I do need to lose over 100 pounds, so it comes with the territory.0 -

I would be bragging too...embrace that feeling of greatfulness and use that as motivation...:flowerforyou:
40 pounds is a lot of weight...you should be proud of yourself!
it's those little things that makes our day!!! do the happy dance:laugh:
good luck girl

Check -in: 12/16/09 (falhaone) now positively_Me
calories: yes, 1230
exercise: yes, i finally did my w7d1 (c25k)...i have been pushing it to the side for 2 days...afraid of the expectation...it was not so bad.
water: so far 7 cups, but it's only noon...i will be having more by the end of the day.
proud: i have accomplished week 7 of couch to 5 k....18 minutes of running and 16 minutes of brisk walking.
before i forget i changed my name...from falhaone to Positively_me
small question to ask: has anyone used an "electrolyte drink" during a work out? Bob from the biggest loser mention (on the doctor oz show) a homemade ellectrolye drink...wondering if anyone made and used the drink...
good day all!0 -
Good Morning!
I am home more today than yesterday so I can check in more often. Tonight we have a Christmas party at the church. It will be interesting not knowing what ingredients are in the menu items, it is quesstimating at its best.
momma2four: having someone notice helps validate your hard work. Good job!
Positively_Me: I like the new name. You are doing great
lildebbbie: I feel for you. As a mom with bigger kids, it gets better, and it is always amusing when it is someone else's kid. Someday you will see a mom with a child doing exactly as yours and you will think "i remember when..." Hang in there.
lstpaul: The tension is miserable for everyone. It makes my stomach hurt if we have discord. Makeup is the best when you can hug and tell them how much you love them and... (MY TIME TO HAVE THEIR UNDEVIDED ATTENTION) It is called I feel.... about.... because. You state how you feel upset about her loosing the gloves because it (then state your reason) It helped my kids be more open open to why I got upset. I swear that there was a time they didn't think I had feelings. Hope this helps.
Stephanie: Count me in of the pizza binge. mmm I think that we all can relate. There are several food items I have divided up into smaller portions and then freeze for later. Has anyone tried freezing pizza? It is tantalizing when it is warm out of the oven.
awestfall: Good job for jumping back on track.
jlb123: smaller pants wow! I thought I was close to 16 but NO too tight. Thanks to my saggy baby belly. (To much information)
Keep making good choices today!0 -
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I will be hit and miss for a while. My 4 year old son has to go into the surgical center for dental work., It will be an all day thing. He has to have 2 baby teeth pulled plus a lot of dental work. They will be putting him out for a couple of hours. That scares me. I already know the whole thing that it is safer than driving in a car, blah, blah, blah. That does not change the fact that he is my baby and they are going to put him to sleep. Anyways, friday there is a school party, friday night is go look at lights and then the whole Christmas week thing.
Just in case I am not around for a while(I am sure I will be ) I just wanted to make sure that I said " Merry Christmas to you all and God Bless You all., Have a safe and wonderful Christmas" Anyways, I can't stay away so I will probably check in but I wanted to make sure that was said just in case. you gals0 -
calories: so far so good. I have been behaving today
exercise: no I am down in my back today and have not felt too good, but I might try to do some walking back and forth thru my house or something
water: 32 oz right now
proud: that I went to my daughter's Christmas program at her school and didn't eat the junk food that they have there. The only thing I ate was a Kellogg's rice Krispy Treat and I eat them here, so they had them there and I ate one of those and that is all. I passed up cupcakes, donuts, little debbie cakes, cheese puffs and all of that junk!!!!!0 -
MOMOFTWO29 - Great job passing up junk food! The only thing I ate was a Kellogg's rice Krispy Treat and I eat them here, so they had them there and I ate one of those and that is all. I passed up cupcakes, donuts, little debbie cakes, cheese puffs and all of that junk!!!!!
I generally have a taste for savory stuff like the cheese puffs - but I don't think I could EVER pass up a Little Debbie snack cake! If you can do that - you can do anything!
My office just decided to have a "Biggest Loser" contest here at work so I weighed in and found out I'm down 12 pounds from last year - that's nice that I made it a year without gaining back all of the weight I'd lost. This year I'm far more serious and have a far better reason to stick to it so I'm pretty confident I'll do OK. Plus three of the people that entered probably weigh less than I need to lose!
I walked the steps again (just the four flights), I sure hope I am able to do the 5k101 because I am sooooo out of shape I can't imagine walking 30 minutes let alone walking and jogging - but I'll just do what I can!0 -
mstahl - I just looked up 5k101 to check it out because I'm doing Couch25K & I wanted to compare the 2 training programs. I just wanted to say that the 5k101 program looks more aggressive (and scarier) so if you have a hard time with it, you may want to give C25K a look. If so, it's at http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml I saw that on the 5k101 program the very first week you're jogging for 2 minutes at a time! There's no way I could've done that when I started -- I struggled big time just jogging the 60 second intervals with C25K & actually had to build up to that! More power to you!
Jenn and I are both on week 3 of c25k right now I believe. I'm going to try week 4 tomorrow but I have a feeling I'll really be repeating week 3 because I'm just not sure I can jog for 5 minutes straight yet. 4 maybe, so I'm just planning to go for it and do what I can -- that method has been working for me so far.
The key for me is to not get caught up in it too much. I quickly learned that my knees can't handle running more than 3 times a week right now and that cross training (biking is the most convenient for me) is important, too. And, although I still become irritated at the thought of it, I've forced myself to be at peace with the possibility I"ll have to repeat some weeks. I haven't had to yet but keeping up is getting really hard for me at this point so I really think I'll be repeating week 3.
Momma2four -- Hope your little man feels better soon. My mouth is still sore from the anesthetic the dentist stabbed into my gums yesterday. :laugh:0 -

thank you. I hope to finally get back on track and do this and one day meet my goal.0 -
Hi everyone!! yesterday was my first day of the couch5k program and I am off to a good start. Weighed in this morning to peak and i am at 241...was at 247 a few weeks ago so that is good...haven't been weighing in but have been watching what I am eating.
I was under my cals by 500 yesterday
did not drink half as much water as I should
proud that I got my butt back in workout mode, maybe this program will help because it tells me what to do and where I should be at.0 -
My daughter did text me an 'I'm sorry', and I responded with an 'I'm sorry and lov u' back. I feel much better. I talked to one of my daughter's friend's mother - and they had exactly the same problem this morning! My husband said 'missingmittinmakingmemaditis' must be going around.
Unfortunately my lunch plans were derailed today. My boss's wife provided soup for all of us today so that was my plan ... but I went shopping at lunchtime and when I came back all the soup was gone already! and I was starving so stuffed myself on chex mix and banana bread. Oh well ... I'll track it and see what I can do for dinner.0 -
ok so here it is
Calories -1253 I am not eating anything else for the day
Exercise-2 hours and I burnt over 1000 calories

Oh dear.
My supervisor's supervisor just gave me an entire pie for Christmas. She did it last year, too. They're SO good. At least now I know exactly what I'm bringing to Christmas dinner at my mom's house! Pray for me that it makes it there.  :laugh:0 -

Thanks so much for taking the time to look into 5K101 for me! All I heard (from a friend) is that the music is better and the coaching is a "real person" - the hard part wasn't mentioned!I quickly learned that my knees can't handle running more than 3 times a week right now and that cross training (biking is the most convenient for me) is important, too. And, although I still become irritated at the thought of it, I've forced myself to be at peace with the possibility I"ll have to repeat some weeks. I haven't had to yet but keeping up is getting really hard for me at this point so I really think I'll be repeating week 3.
Assuming I stick with my plan to use the 5K101, I will go into it knowing that repeating weeks isn't the end of the world. And not expecting to be able to do the first week without cheating LOL!
awestfall- 2 HOURS of exercise?!? That's amazing! Please tell you took a long time to work up to that!
I'm doing great today with calories - I've only taken in about 200 calories, and I have a little over 300 allocated for dinner tonight.
I've exercised by going up the four flights of stairs here at the office 3 times :-D
I'm proud that I didn't eat any pie, and I didn't go to lunch with the herd!0 -
