Good afternoon ladies, today's workout is complete. Yesterday I bought a Leslie Sansone dvd to use as my light cardio day and today I did 3 miles of the 5 that are offered. I believe it was a total of 36 minutes.

    Chocolickkyss: 3/7

I will chill out and watch football the rest of the day.

Ok, I just finished going over the posts and updating the table.

Sounds like you had a great time Debra!! It is always nice to fool around with people you love.

Great job Chocolickkiss on reaching your goal!!! May your maintenance be an easy one!

Almomay, I was going to ask you if you had done your exercises on Saturday until I looked at the time you posted your exercises after eating that yummy pizza. On my computer, it says 12:07 am on Sunday which means very late on Saturday night

Hope you all have a great Sunday evening :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Since i began to have another crack at getting into shape I decided to work out everyday pretty much like you described, doing more when i can and taking it easier on the days in between but doing something EVERY DAY

I know this goes against the expert advice to leave a day in-between to recover, but my problem is i am crap at sticking to things :blushing: if i say ill do it monday wednesday and friday then 'something will come up' and ill put it off for one day which then becomes two and then oh well ill just miss that one this week and start the next weeks routine etc etc...

So doing it daily is better for me but im noticing that im going from poor to worse lol im barely doing two miles on my 30 minute jogs/walks when i used to be able to jog ten minute miles without too much trouble? am i right in thinking that eventually, as weight drops off and i get fitter the trend will reverse as my body adjusts to the extra effort, or do i really need rest days *I really hope i dont...*

grateful for any advice or other peoples experience, thanks in advance!

    Connor.

I use to do competitive artistic gymnastic and 1 summer, I was training every single day of the week. My gym coach is now the head trainer for Le Cirque du Soleil. It was 30 years ago, but the guy knew what he was doing. He helped me like no other coach did. What I learned from him, was the importance of stretching your muscles after you exercise them, even your toes muscles. If they are too tensed, they can cause cramps and spams under your feet and that is really not comfortable. Later, I was a gymnastic coach and I always made it a priority to do some stretching at the end of the class.

It is true that one should always give a resting time to their muscles, but by stretching them after everday exercise period, you will help them rest more efficiently.

My father is a gymnastic coach and when I told him about this challenge, he knew that I would not over do it and he had no problem with the idea that I would do some kind of workout every single day.

The objective of this challenge is not to do some intensive workout every single day of the year. We are not athletes. What is mostly important is that we do something every day, even if it is only a 20 minutes walk on the treadmill at a good pace.

I hope this helps you and if you want to join us, you are welcome!!!

Thanks for the tip, I'd be more than happy to join in! i always start and finish with five minutes walking at an easy pace to warm up/warm down but i rarely stretch at all, I'll give it a go starting tomorrow and see what happens :0) once again thanks!

I'm 3/7 after doing 53 min of Shapely Girl low impact aerobics.

Connor - I try to vary what I do so that my muscles have a day of rest. I only jog 3 days a week skipping days between, lift light weights 2 days a week, and mix the other activities up with by doing step aerobics, low impact aerobics or power walking. You just need to find the right combination for you. I would suggest a couple of the days be easier workout days. Yes, it does get easier to exercise and you will get more energy as you get into better shape. Welcome to the group.

  • 3/7 I did walking today.

Almomay- hope your daughter feels better too. This weekend was rough she was up about every hour all night and didn't nap much. She was very cranky but this evening seemed a little better. I hate when she's sick and I can't make her feel better.

Happy Monday all! I hope everyone's weekend was wonderful and there were no major setbacks. My weekend started well and ended alright so I won't do too much complaining. Despite my back hurting (I have arthritis in my lower left back) throughout the weekend and even into today I manage to workout everyday. Saturday I probably over did it but yesterday and today I think I took it a little easier. Today, I completed 4 miles of the Leslie Sansone dvd w/5 lb weights for a total of 50 minutes.

    Chocolickkyss: 4/7

The workout is done now the rest of the day can begin.

    Have a good day everyone!

4/7, Yoga X 90 minutes, having a cup of tea and then I think I might jump on the elliptical and break a little more of a sweat, I had some dips last night during the football game and I think a little extra cardio would make me feel better about that!

Have a great week everyone Get Moving!!!

Happy Monday ya'll (if there is such a thing).

Ran 4 miles on Saturday and another 3 on Sunday...usually don't like to run two days in a row, but the weather was just too beautiful. Today I hit the elliptical for 30 minutes...pretty easy work out but it took care of about 350 calories...so that's better than nuthin!

    Welcome Gixercom!!

I am 4/7 today after completing week 9 day 2 of C25K training - outside:bigsmile: It was 36 and sunny and I just couldn't resist going outside this afternoon. I meant to do it this morning on the treadmill but several work phone calls interrupted me - sometimes it pays to go with the flow and figure you'll do it later. I also got in 23 min of low impact aerobics to a Debbie Rocker DVD (Leslie's videos are much better)...

Connor - great job on starting the C25K training. I remember thinking that first week that someone must be crazy if they think I'll ever be able to run. Today I ran for 31 solid min (actually I jogged at a moderate pace but I'll take it)...

    HI everybody,

I had a tough weekend because my 17 month had a fever, and she is now doing better. Couldn't work out yesterday because of the stress of it. But I did work out today and did 2 hours of: kenpo x, jillian michael's banish fat boost metabolism, and ab ripper x.

I don't know if I mentioned it here, but I lost 2.6 lbs last week, and I wanted to thank you all for the support.

So I'm at at 3/7 for this week.

I'll catch up with the posts later .

Good job everybody with your hard workouts!!

4/7 for me! Great job everyone!
Today was 40 minutes of Interval program on the elliptical and my sinus infection only allowed 40 minutes of YOGA X!:frown: the downward dogs about made the head explode!!!:noway:
I wear Polar F11 HRM (watch with chest strap) when I am on the machine both the heart rates are with in 2 bpm, but when I get off the calories burned are way less than what the elliptical says. Like today my HRM said 310 for the 40 minutes on the machine but the elliptical said 460.I don't get this so I am going to post it and see what i get for answers. Help me if you can! I know everyone says that the machines are always higher and are set more for the male gender and I know MFP calorie count is for sure higher than a HRM. So be aware!!!

    Hello every one !

Almomay, I hope your daughter feels better soon.

Vhuber, a sinus infection is really not the best thing to have. I hope you get better soon.

Great job on your workouts y'all. Today, I tried the Pilates ball workout. It is challenging and a good workout for the core muscles.

    Have a nice evening :flowerforyou:

cc_campbell81- I hope your daughter gets better soon. I know how you feel, this week I have had little sleep. I've been putting in work outs while she naps during the day, and just trying to go with the flow. Best wishes!

vhuber- that is strange the only thing I can think of is the fact that gym machines like the elliptical must be calibrated. Maybe the one you used hasn't been calibrated for a while.
  • 4/7- Today I did C25K and a strength training work out. I have to admit I underestimated C25K I thought it would be too easy but I feel like I actually got a good work out.

Almomay- thanks. Hope your daughter feels better too.

4/7 I repeated for the 5th time W4 of C25k followed by WATP 1 mile. Later I did WATP 2 mile.

Good morning every one!!! Yesterday was weight-in and I am at 158. I don't think I'll reach the 155's by next Monday, especially with red week starting on Sunday. Instead, I will concentrate on not gaining this month.

Today, I will go back on the AKP, on the Gazelle and I will do the Pilates workout with resistance DVD.

    Speak to you later.

Good morning ladies. I tell you the past few days I have not been motivated to workout at all BUT have dragged myself out of the bed and committed to it. Since I had a slow start this morning I could only do 35 minutes of cardio b/c I had to get to work. I decided to spend that time on the spinning bike (I like that bike so much better than the other stationary bikes). Since I've taken a couple of spinning classes I tried to increase my intensity by doing a few of the moves the instructor does during the class. All in all the workout is done. I don't really know how many calories I burned since I still haven't figured out how to work my hrm and the spinning bikes to calculate the calories for you. I know I worked up a sweat and my heart rate was up so I'm pleased.

5/7 ..look at us go!!, the weeks about over!
I did core synergistics with Tony Horton and then I burned 500 more calories on the elliptical. for a total 90 minute workout.

Missou, how clever of you to start our week on a Friday,, the weekend is the hardest for me but this help motivate me all weekend, then Monday comes around and I want to keep it going...then before I know it..weeks over, Love this challenge, really keeping me on task.

Debra, I have to admit that I did not choose the Friday..... I chose the date, January 1st and it just happened to fall on a Friday. You are right though, it is a good thing for me too since I had the tendency to fall of the wagon on Saturdays. Sometimes, it would take me weeks before I would jump back on it.

My parents were on vacation for 2 weeks and they arrived yesterday. I just had a talk with my father. He is happy for me and encouraging me to keep it up. It is so nice to hear coming from him!!

Let's keep it up!! We are good and we can do it!!!
