    Happy Tuesday everyone!

I did my spinning class today! 1 hour = 760 calories. But I also made poor meal choices this morning and afternoon. Thinking about having a bowl of cereal and some scrambled egg whites for a light dinner tonight.

But at least I got my work out in. Nice job everyone- stay at it!!!

Hi Connor, I just want to make a little precision. Our challenge started on Friday January 1st and we are in our 4th week. Today is the 6th day of week 4 and I will post our weekly table on Friday. Unfortunatly, you will not get a point this week unless you did a workout every day since last Friday. Actually, if you know how many days you have done a workout since January 1st, I will add it in the table easily.

    Take care everyone!!

I would like to announce that I completed the entire 58 minutes of the Plyometrics dvd of the P90X series and I AM VERY PROUD of myself. I was a bit intimidated about taking on the task b/c I have a bad right knee BUT I did what I could and modified anything that I thought was going to be to strenuous on the knee and I feel great. While I'm sure my quads will be mad at me tomorrow I feel absolutely great at the moment.

I will continue reviewing all the dvds but I think I'm going to begin the entire P90X series next week. I'll start slow and w/lighter weights so that I don't overdo it and gradually build. When I think about it like that the program seems totally doable. Between my bad knee and arthritic lower back I'm sure I'll have to modify but I think i'm ready for the challenge.

  • I am 6/7. Yesterday I did strength training/fitness testing. For my test I did 51 situps in one minute and 41 pushups in a minute! Today is C25K and strenth training.

Congrats to everyone. You all are working hard!

6/7 with Kenpo X and a 15 minute warm up on the elliptical. I was a little slow to get moving, it's so darn cold here, but I feel great now that I'm finished.

Another woo-hoo out to you Pinbot:drinker:

Choco...that's fantastic...I love that workout, he has you Bring It, that's for sure, but I always think, if that guy can do it with one leg, I surely can do it with 2:laugh:

    cc_campbell, great job!:flowerforyou:

One more day and we've done another week everyone!!

I had to Laugh out Loud on that b/c I was thinking the same exact thing. I guess I have 1 1/2 b/c my right knee is problematic at times. Thank for the encouragement. While I plan to officially start on Monday I do plan on completing Kenpo X tomorrow.

Are you following the program exactly or improvising?

For the most part I am following it exactly, but I am doing extra cardio everyday because I still need to lose about 50 pounds. :ohwell: Now I say that, but last week I substituted a couple of Firm total body workouts...just because I like those dvds and they work you pretty good also and I get an Ab worked in too, so sometimes I sub them in on days I don't do Ab ripper? Hope that makes sense....I'm a gemini...what can I say I love to change things up:laugh:  I also have another kick box video that I love and I sub that one in too sometimes when Kenpo is on the schedule.

I am up to 6/7, but a little disapointed. I wasn't able to do all that I wanted because of my knee :grumble:

At least I did 4 miles on the bicycle and I did some abs work too. It is better than nothing right

Oh, how I wish completing C25K training guaranteed that you could run a 5K. This 41 year old body runs pretty slow and I'm only getting about 2.5 miles of running in the 31 min of run time and about 3 miles total with warm up and cool down walks. My plan is to keep adding 3 min a week for the next 3 weeks. By then I should be running over 3 miles. Then, I can start working on speed... Any suggestions on how to increase speed? I've thought about trying C25K again working on speed bursts with running time and doing my jogging pace during the walking time. I've also considered just using the treadmill pre-programed settings. Or, even just trying to run faster in bursts of time. Suggestions are welcome. I may have to go lurk on the running forum for a few days. My first 5K race isn't until April so I have lots of time to get ready.

6/7 for the week! I did NOT want to do it (migraine all day) but held hand weights and did an hour of Kenpo! Burned 330 cals is all. If my head was not so bad and for watching my lil grandson I would have worked the elliptical too! But I guess it is suppose to be recovery week with P90X! Good job crew for working it!

OK, I came across your post just today and I love it. I, too, am a competative person, so I was wondering if I can join you all even though I am 3 1/2 weeks behind you? I must tell you before you make up your minds that i was sitting at my computer trying to figure out what game I was going to play and contemplating if I wanted to go over my calories. After reading your posts I went for a string cheese and a 100 cal yogurt instead. Then I was trying to figure out if I was going to post tonight or put it off until tomarrow, I decided that if I was going to try to join at all, I would have to do it in good faith, which means AFTER I exercised...TONIGHT. I got up and did a 23 minute Bigest Loser Bootcamp program. I am certainly not at your levels, but I am happy with just 20 to 30 minutes per day at this point. So can I...please???
I am assuming the answer is yes, so I will say that i exercised on 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27. Not bad seeing as I just started back on MFP on the 19th. Thanks!

Good morning everyone, it is 5h20 and I have been awake since approximatly 45 minutes. Why don't you try to guess why..... Of course.... Lily... But she was not meowing this time... She was fooling around with my feet instead. I think I will have to make her play in the evenings from now on

Kgasser, of course you can join us!!! From what I read in your post, we are already helping you out and motivating you. That is what this challenge is for. We are not trying to make excuses not to workout. Instead, you are finding reasons to keep at it, even when we feel a little lazy or just not into it.

    Have a great day everyone!!!

I think running during your "jogging" bursts and jogging during your "walking" bursts is a good idea. While I can run on the treadmill I've not ventured outside to take on the elements so really don't know how outside impacts the run/jog. I found some treadmill intervals at about.com and I started at a 4.0 - 4.5 mph as my "recovery" stage and 5.0 - 5.2 as my "running" stage and after a couple of times of doing that I was able to increase my endurance and I used 5.0 - 5.5 as my "recovery" stage and 6.0 - 6.5 as my "running". It was a great workout but it was a bit painful on my knee so I could only imagine how it would feel running on pavement or something that doesn't absorb the shock. I may only be 37 but that right knee of mine feels like 67 sometimes.

Let us know what you decide and great job for even tackling the c25k program.

I'm 7/7 after doing 20 min if kick boxing with Donna Richardson this morning. I feel a whole lot better after getting some PMS aggression out:wink: I plan to do at least 30 min of Leslie Sansone's Fat burning blast this evening with my workout buddy (mom).

ps missou - I did post yesterday morning being 6/7 and you commented on it. There are so many of us, I bet it's easy to miss one. Thanks for keeping track of us all:flowerforyou: It must be a lot of work. Scratch Lily's chin for me.
