    In our small town in Upstate New York, we seem to get married and have babies in our early 20's....It seems like dozens of girls in my graduating class have done it this way. Most of us all say we'd like to be done by 30! I was married at 23 and had my daughter 12 months later.

    Born in 71~Married at 28 in 1999 Went through 5 miscarriages and was told would never have any babies. I lost 110lbs from 2/2010 to 1/2011 Found out 2 weeks later was 5 weeks pregnant. I didn't get excited until I saw the specialist and his heartbeat at 7 weeks. I was scared throughout the whole thing. It seemed surreal up until he was born :) Ben was born 9-12-11 16 days before I turned 40. We are working on one more :)

    Got pregnant at 24, gave birth when I was 25. 2nd child was born when I was 34. I'll be 39 at the end of this month. I'm in Ontario.

    My husband and I were both 22 and 25 when our kids were born. He had a vasectomy at 26. We are 32 now with a 10 year old and almost 7 year old, married 14 years. Southern California.

    This thread makes me feel much better about being 25 and both not having any kids and feeling like I'm still way too young to think about reproducing.

    I'm so terribly awkward at life I'll probably just end up at a sperm bank when I feel old and lonely enough and chuck out some money to get a special test tube kid just to see if it really works. I have brown hair and hazel eyes, I think I could manage to buy a black haired, green eyed genetic slurry son. Always thought it sounded sort of unreal that we can do things like that now

    Unless I meet a human being who can well... go easy on me because I have difficulty being human. Yeah.

    Incredibly lucky I had two of mine young and never foresaw the future pregnancy issues I have had. I also have a 5 year old that we thought we could never have. I was one of the first of my friends to have kids- most of them were in their early to late 30s before they had one. It seems the more educated you are, the longer you wait to have children.

    I don't think it's generational, per se. I think it's more regional and cultural.

    ETA: I got my divorce out of the way before I had children. 1st marriage at 25, ended at 27. My real marriage happened at age 33...followed by two beautiful baby boys 3 years later. :)

    Well after reading everyone's posts, I feel a little out of place haha but my kids are the best thing that has ever happened to me :)
