    Cleveland, OH area. I was 19 when I got pregnant and 19 when I had her. I am 28 now and she's about to turn 9 (whoa).

    I have been surprised at the number of women on the board who report having their first child when they were in their teens. That was really common when I was having mine (60's) but I thought first time mothers were older now. (My daughter-in-law was 33 when she had our first grandson.) I have no statistics to support my impression but I was just wondering. Is it generational? Regional? Anyone care to satisfy my curiosity by posting where you are from, your age now and your age when you had your first child? I will start;

    Age now: 68
    Age when first child was born: 23

    Age now: almost 28
    Age when first child was born: almost 21. I'm pregnant with our 4th.

    I was 25 when my son was born. We had been trying for a year before I finally became pregnant. Now we're waiting for a little bit for baby number 2 :D

    I got married at 18 had our first child when I was 19 and she passed away (she was planned) then I had my second daughter when I was 21 had a miscarriage at 22, then my son when I was 23, a month before my 24th birthday.

    Originally from Christchurch New Zealand, live in Oregon for just over 6 years, now in Florida.
    Both babies were born in NZ.
    1st - son, 20 years old just 2 1/2 months before my 21st. Planned
    2nd - daughter, 25 years old, less than a month after my birthday. Planned.
    Remarried now with no plan for more children. Hubby and I are enjoying the child-free years.
    I'm now 44.

    Your age range makes me think of friends we had many years ago. They had the perfect bookend children: a girl and then a boy.
    The only thing that was unusual about it was that there was 21 years between them.

    I think I did things really young but don't regret it.
    Married at 20.
    First child at 21 and had my 3rd by 28. All done and we get to enjoy them while we are nice and young!! Hubbies goal was to be done having kids by the time he turned 30. We had our last the day before he turned 31 :)

    I'm 55. Had my first kid at 21 and 5 kids by the time I was 30! But my kids are now 24 - 32 and I only have 1 grandchild.

    I was 23 when pregnant and 24 when she was born. (2010-2011).
    Navy Brat ( Had her in Denver,CO)
    She wasn't planned but i don't i would have waited much longer to have a child. My husband and I both agree that all the children we plan to have (2 tops) are to happen before we both turn 30. Just our choice. We would rather have them earlier and get them out on their own when we are young enough to still travel and enjoy one another.
