What is actually a good weight for us? I'm 5'8 with a medium to large, semi athletic build body. I've always had 165ish as a goal and the other day googled "ideal weight" for my height and found numbers that were much, much lower. I know everyone's different, but what is a healthy range I should be shooting for?
A colleague is is 5'10 but feels comfortable at 148 -149lbs. Although we only have ~1 inch height difference her ideal weight is almost 10lbs higher than mine because her frame is large0 -

Awesome job, everyone!
I'm 5'8.5
SW: 185 (though my heaviest was about 190)
CW: 173
GW: 155
Thank you all for the inspiration0 -
hello I'm 5'7.5 barefoot but with shoes on 5'9 does that count? here's my before and after this is a 30 day before and after. and only a 5 pound difference. first photo I was 188 second photo 183. I still have a ways to go but this is my current progress. I have a large frame so my weight is evenly placed all over my body. people always guess my weight wrong, but I know what the scale says.

I've always wanted to see a thread like this! This is my first time posting a B&A.
I'm still very much in the process of getting my body and fitness level to where I want it to be, but I've come a long way. I started at around 220 lbs at the end of 2010. Today I weigh around 170.
These days I'm not so worked up about the number on the scale, instead I'm more interested in building strength, flexibility, and endurance. I've weighed about 12 lbs less than this, but I was miserable. Turning that around was pretty eye-opening. I'd definitely like to lose some more fat but I don't care how long it takes as long as I'm eating and exercising in a way that makes me feel good and happy!
in 2010: 215-225. naturally, I was avoiding the scale, and the camera.
in 2013-2014: 163-170. my life is considerably more awesome.

Jen... you've already seen my before/after shot, but I'll share it again for others participating in this thread.
I'm just a hair under 5'9" and currently weigh 136 lbs. I suppose I have a mixed frame - my shoulders, pelvis and ribcage are all spacious and would lead you to believe that I have a large frame. But my ankles, elbows and wrists are all quite delicate/tiny and fit within the measurements of a small frame. So, who knows...
In the 'after' photo below, I weighed about nine more pounds than I do now.
Very tall and slim.0 -

You look fantastic for such a tall lass!-1 -

Starting Weight - Somewhere around 200lbs
Current Weight - 145
It took me about 6 months to lose the weight. I added weight lifting about 5 months into my journey. Feeling better than I EVER have in my life!
This is me somewhere around 200...
And this is me now!
Looking awesome, your highness!2 -
LeashaLeash wrote: »I'm 5'8" and have fairly large shoulders (have a hard time getting coats that fit me here) and huge ankles/feet (US size 11, UK 9 for shoes and my ankles are bigger then my boyfriends!). I always considered myself to be large framed before because of my shoe size, but I'm not sure what a proper measurement would be. My starting weight was 195lb and my current weight is 140lb.
You look quite slim at 140. A big difference there is between 140 on a 5'8" naturally big woman and an average 5'3" or 5'4" woman.1 -
In for hot, tall chicks. Y'all look amazing! Keep it up!0
