    As a diabetic, I am out. Meat is good for diabetics. High in protein with little to no carbs.

    there are other types of meats you could eat besides red meats and pork...

    Cutting carbs means having to raise fat. Red meats are naturally higher in fats than fish, poultry, or anything else by a wide margin.

    If you are trying to reach a certain calorie amount, lowering one macro means raising one or both of the others. Now, I'm not sure why much of anyone would want to lower carbs when eating a surplus to gain weight.
