I've been focusing on healthy foods that are delicious, not many calories. But love my food! So, here are some faves.

Smashed Avocado with garlic, a slice of salmon, feta cheese, mint and chili pepper slices, on multigrain, with a poached egg. Our favorite breakfast when we want to spoil ourselves. 420 calories...

Did you make your multigrain bread or what brand is it? Looks yum!

Our baked (not fried) falafel biscuits with fresh chick peas, herbs from our garden with a side of our own homemade garlic hummus. For a snack (shown at 200 calories) or a meal.

    Will be trying these too:)

    Thanks

Haha, yes, Canada Day was a good (eating) day. The smoked salmon cream cheese ice cream was great! Light, yet flavourful and the cream cheese was a nice touch. Not a fan of the crumb wafers holding it together, though.

Dinner tonight. I decided to stop at the Noble Vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant on the way home from work. Haven't been there for a long time. Of course I'm not a vegetarian, but I do enjoy some of their dishes. Spring rolls with peanut sauce (and soy sausage)...they call it "Roses on the grill" and Soy chicken with brown rice and veggies...they call that one "Angel at peace.".

My spin on "fried mushrooms". Mushrooms in protein pancake batter, baked, and sprinkled with seasoning. 80 cals, 9g protein.

I was surprised how much I liked the cricket protein bar! It's not unusual at all, much like your typical fruit/nut kind of bar. I really liked the amount of peanuts in the bar and there was no 'off' flavour at all. You wouldn't be able to tell from the taste that such an unusual protein source is used.

For most things Indian I go to Majulas Kitchen. Never failed me. Once I make the recipe and I like it enough, I tweak to suit my own way. This is what I did here, but I used a ready hundvo flour mix bought at my local indian grocery.

Thanks! I'll most likely purchase a hundvo flour mix too.
