Saturday brunch:
1/2 Everything bagel layered with avocado and a soft boiled egg along with a couple of strawberries on the side

Sichuan Deliveroo. We made the rice because we are too cheap to spend 5 bucks on steamed rice.

Dinner at my fav local place... Pan seared filet
brussel sprout, sun-dried cranberry, pancetta, red wine bordelaise, smoked white cheddar mashed potatoes, blue cheese mousse, pickled fennel and shallot

Summer rolls and Vietnamese cahn (watercress soup). Nuoc cham and satay sauce for dipping the summer roles.

Sunday dinner: 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of homemade vegetable beef soup

Lunch for the next two days: tofu, bell peppers, onions with a nice soy sriracha sauce over basmati rice (yes it’s a bit of a geographical mashup). Good stuff! Though the heat mellows out quite a bit when you cook down the sauce.6 -
Primo of courgette pasta. I watched episode 1 of Stanley Tucci's "In Search of Italy" and had to try the 4 ingredient courgette spaghetti he raved about. Secondo of half a duck breast, caramelized carrots and watercress salad.

Yesterday I baked a very small pork tenderloin in a bit of vermouth, soy sauce, ginger and sesame oil. Today I did a simple stir fry with some of the pork, hoisin sauce and soy sauce using frozen green beans and snap peas served over white rice.

Italian menu structure again though fish sticks aren't exactly Italian. (It was the only fish are our local supermarket, and I already had decided on a fishy pasta dish.) Linguine con bottarga to start and secondo of fish sticks, glazed carrots and watercress salad.

The last of the pork tenderloin with soba noodles, asparagus and soy sauce. Basic and quick.

Salad for dinner:
Romaine, cucumbers, hardboiled egg, sliced mozzarella, sliced turkey cutlet and 1/2 an avocado... with a drizzle if Ranch dressing (not shown)

Southwestern Taco bowl (shrimp, black beans, corn, avocados, tomato, romaine lettuce, red onion and lime dressing)

Cleaning out the freezer. Dutch split pea soup and pierogi.

Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Gumbo with Cajun Corn on the cob. Served with brown rice.

Baked cod crusted with sundried tomatoes, olives and panko served on tinned borlotti beans and spinach warmed up in shellfish bisque we had in the freezer. A really quick and easy way to do fish.

Crazy day so from exhaustion I defaulted to a Goats cheese and hot salsa omelette with sweet potato fries and salad. Simple but tasty!

Friday dinner:
Pan fried chicken tender, baby peas and a green leaf salad (with sliced cucumbers, a sprinkle of cheese and a drizzle of Ranch)

Cambodian beef lok lak works well with chicken too. A really quick and easy dinner if you make up a big batch of the stir fry sauce in advance and keep it in a squeeze bottle in the fridge. I normally don't marinade but dredge the meat in cornstarch by shaking it in a food container and stir fry with garlic until it loses it's raw colour and then squirt in the stir fry sauce.

As a side we had Cambodian street corn, cooked in the air fryer instead of on the BBQ and using baby corn instead of full size cobs. I will make it again this week as I still have leftover marinade in the fridge.

Butternut Squash ‘Pizzas’. 4 different cheeses (St Agur, Goat’s Cheese, Brie & Mozzarella), red onion, mushroom, green pepper, black olives and capers. And a huge salad.

Couldn't decide between a toasted Everything bagel with whipped cream cheese and one with half an avocado.

Shrimp Tacos...

Starter of salad with vinaigrette and an anaemic looking main of chicken sausage with roast potato. I minimized use of vegetable oil so potatoes did not brown in the air fryer. Warmed up leftover Portuguese marinated carrots from last night as a side.

Working on taxes today, so dinner was a quick one: grilled salmon and mixed vegetables

The last portion of Beetroot Dhal from the freezer 😢, Pilau Rice and a mix of Asparagus & Runner Beans. Plus a microwaved Poppadum.
