I started this program in January of 2012, completed all six weeks, but never actually got to 100 pushups for the final test. So I moved on to more strength training for the rest of 2012. I just started doing the pushup program again, and my last test was 70 push-ups. I've created my own week 7 schedule because even after everything I've done I'm still not there yet. I really want to reach 100!!!! It is not easy!!!0

Did the end of week 5 exhaustion test today.
Managed 61 but last 10 were very, very hard. Couldn't hold a glass of water afterwards as my hands were shaking so badly!!
That's up from original 28 on 13th of Jan so pleased with my progress.0 -
I'm back at it, week two completed with 12-13-10-10 then 15 (total 60).
Think 100 is going to take longer than 6 weeks though!0 -
Week 6 repeat - Day 1 (col 3) - 45/45/35/30/45 - on the 2nd and last sets I was supposed to do 55 but I felt a bit sapped today and was just glad to be "out there" doing it - ironically I went on to do a full body work out...Maybe it's because just yesterday I did my exhaustion test (60), not sure... I am just going to keep plowing ahead -- for me it's not about 6 weeks but progressive increase, as that is giving an extra fuel and burn to my workouts.
I don't know if anyone else finds this but I find when I am stiff they are much harder and when I am sufficiently warmed up it's much easier for me... the balance for me is the trick - to be warmed up enough to do the reps but not too shot to do them.
Onward and Forward!0 -
Think I would have had two days rest after the exhaustion test. Suspect tomorrow will be easier for you.0

Sat: Week 3, Col 2, Day 3: 16,21,15,15,21
Today Week: 4, Col 2, Day 1: 18,22,16,16,30 ---> THIRTY!0 -
Repeat of Week 6 - Day 2 (col3): 22/22/30/30/24/24/18/18/600

@martinh78 - glad you're back! And yes, I probably should have taken a couple days after exhaustion test - More than the exhaustion test I'm just trying to keep the pattern going of the exercises... it's a lot of frickin' push ups!0

Week 3 Day 1. 10-12-7-7 followed by 11 giving 47 in total
The programme has put me in column 1 so it's stepped me back a bit I think?0 -
Week 4 col 2 day 2 - 20,25,20,20,290
-
Week 3 Day 2: 13 max, 51 total0
-
Completed Week 6, Column 2
Day 1: 40/42/25/25/42 - final 42 should have been 50, exhaustion test day before did for me.....
Day 2: 20/20/23/23/20/20/18/18/53
Day 3: 22/22/30/30/25/25/18/18/58
Going to move to Week 6, Column 3 next week rather than try for the Big One.0 -
I am currently stuck on week 4 day 1 column 2. I was in column 2 in week 3 where I started all this. I am just going to stay on week for day 1 until I get it. Or maybe back it down to column 1 in week for then column 2. These plateaus are tough to push through.0

End of second week on Week 6 -- Day 3 column 3: 26/26/33/33/26/26/22/22/50 (was supposed to do 60 on last set)
I am just going to keep repeating week 6 and gradually increase from there.
Right now on vacation in Jamaica and happy to keep anything going
It's intense b/c the reps come on same day as lifting days... so I usually do the pushups first, or work them in by doing exercises on other muscles.
I'm not rushing to the goal, would rather build up the strength gradually -0 -
Week 4, Day 3 Col 2: 23,28,23,23,30
I waited all afternoon between the 4th & 5th sets, and made the 5th my exhaustion test. I was supposed to do at least 33.
I will be repeating week 4 on column 3. As long as I'm progressing, I don't really care how long this takes. You guys are doing well.0 -
Week 8 day 1 - 45/40/40/40/40 - modified (third week on week 6)
Was supposed to do more in some sets and less in others - I am pleased to keep things going and I had to follow my pushups with a full workout with weights - so I didn't want to destroy myself on the last set (was supposed to do 55)
At this point I am using the week 6 as a guide more than a strict rule... I didn't do an exhaustion test in the interests of keeping the reps going (it's more about the process than the goal to me)
Kudos to everyone out there still at it!0 -
Week 3 Day 3 done. 15 to finish, 57 total
Keep up the good work all. It's gonna be a while before I hit the 100 but as above, doesn't matter if it takes longer I guess.0 -
Week 4, Col 3, Day 1, Toes/floor: 21,25,21,21, Bench 35.
I was really struggling with the sets today. I knew I couldn't do "at least 32" on the floor, so I did the last set on a low bench. We'll see how it goes.0 -
week 8 Day 2 22/22/30/30/24/24/18/18/500
-
Week 6 (for second time), column 3 instead of column 2 this time.
Day 1 = 45/55/35/30/43* (*should have been 55)
Day 2 = 22/22/30/30/24/24/18/18/63
Day 3 = 26/26/33/33/26/26/22/22/42* (*should have been 60)
So two failures on final set this week. The only target I hit was when I did the push-ups on their own rather than as part of a mini circuit. 63 is a highlight though, up from start point of 28.
Next week I will repeat same week/column but will do them on their own.0
