 In my opinion PJ's are for the house only. The exceptions to the rule are: Fire, flood, zombie attack or alien invasion.

My street floods every time it rains. Thanks for the free pass. :/

PJ's outside are a no no. there are certain standards and if you go below those then you have no respect for yourself. I've been seriously ill on my way to hospital and still managed to wear outdoor clothes. some things you just gotta do.

I file this under the "who cares" category.

People REALLY need to worry about themselves more. I'd be much more likely to hang out with somebody who wore PJ pants out in public rather than some uptight snob worried about what other people are wearing.

Thank you Im glad someone said this because as I am scrolling through what everyone says I cant help but think that god said we are not suppose to judge other people and I am seeing a lot of judging going around on here. I go out in my sweats but I don't own pajama pants but I don't look down on someone who does. I do think it a little gross when a women goes to the store with bigger boobs and has no bra on, but that because I have children and I don't think they should be seeing some women boobs hanging out. I say do what you think is right but don't judge other people for what they do because you don't know anything about that person.

Yea, I'd never do the PJs thing other than to get the mail. Just would feel like a lazy lump and wouldn't feel good about myself in them. Not too hard to throw on a tank top and normal pants anyway.

I can't do sweats in public but I have done the pj's once and it was completely by accident. My husband wanted to go to Staples and asked if I wanted to go for the ride. I said I was going to change he said don't bother I didn't have to get out of the car. Well, we get to Staples and I LOVE that store. So being excited to be there I completely forgot that I was in my pajamas and proceeded to go into Staples and shop wearing bright yellow PJ pants with green turtles and a matching shirt. People were staring at me and I was getting mad because I had no clue why.

Until I looked down and saw what I was wearing. I laughed my butt off.

And for the record, I wore my PJ's out WAY before it was THE thing to do. Yeah, I'm a trend setter! LOL.

I'm sorry but if you have the time/energy to judge me for wearing pajama pants to walmart at 3am, you have way too much time on your hands. I hate to offend all you budding fashionistas out there, but I wear PJ pants and a hoodie to the grocery store quite frequently (usually late at night). Judge away!! Oh, btw, I'm neither lazy nor a slob. I just don't feel like walmart has a dress code, nor do I care that much what other people are wearing. I guess I'm too busy worrying about myself...

If I'm sick or not feeling great and need to go to the store to pick up a quick something or other, I'll totally go in PJs. The store is only two blocks away so I'd rather walk over, get my stuff and go home without having to change and then change back again.

I am not saying I am pro/con PJ's in public...but...I work in the medical field, wear scrubs to work. What is the difference between wearing scrub pants in public vs "pajama bottoms"? Most of my pajama bottoms are nicer and of better quaility than my work clothes...

My hubby doesn't change out of his scrubs after I pick him up from work to go have dinner or go grocery shopping. And before the germaphobes go completely ape crap, he works in a sterilized OR. When I worked @ the hospital, I wouldn't change either. Unless of course we're covered in blood or other bodily fluids. But for the most part, we're sanitized from head to toe given the department we work/worked in.

And plus 1 on the crappy quality of scrubs. My sweat pants, which is what I usually sleep in, are 100x better quality!

I dunno. isn't a hospital the most effective place to pick up a MRSA infection? Even in a "sterilized OR" ...

There are a million other variables needed to contract MRSA in a hospital or health care setting but I won't go into it as I'd be hijacking the hell out of the thread. But I'm sure medical professionals are thinking about how their scrubs offend people in public right after getting off 10-12 hour shifts. You know, 10-12 hours of keeping people alive. And contracting MRSA, obviously.

My hubby and I have a movie date once a month. We catch the latest show of what we want to see, and yes, we rock our PJ's at the theater. During the day, doing anything else, there is no way I would go out like that...but for that one night every month, I look forward to heading out in my comfy clothes with him. He even wears his slippers!

I *kitten* you not - I went to take the Civil Service Exam in Wichita in 2007 - I was dressed in a suit and heels. A ton of people came to the exam - many in business/casual, many in jeans. One chick came in PJ bottoms and fuzzy slippers. I am not even lying. All I could think was "WTH?" Hopefully if she passed the exam, she went to the interview in more appropriate attire.

I don't agree with wearing PJs in public, if they are actual PJs. I usually sleep in yoga pants and a t-shirt - and I DO wear that stuff out and about, but not after I've slept in it. I at least shower and put on CLEAN clothes before going out. If you see me out of the house in my Hello Kitty jammies or footie jammies, it's because I am near-death and on my way to the ER. I try to take pride in my appearance. And edit to say that I DO NOT CARE what others choose to wear (except for shaking my head at the lady at the exam), I just don't do it because it's my personal choice. I'd DIE if I went out and one of my Colonels saw my Hello Kitty jammies as I was strolling around Walmart. LOL

If I were grocery shopping at 3 a.m. or just had to run to the store then yeah, I'd wear PJ pants. In all honesty I don't really care what people wear I just don't wear sweats or PJ's out normally because, well, I just don't. Actually scratch that. I wear my comfy pants when I travel.

My personal issue is when people don't make the effort to dress up to go out to dinner, a movie, the mall or even to the casino. Whenever I go out I dress up be it in a dress, a skirt, or nice jeans and a sexy shirt but I always make the effort. It irks me when I go some place nice and people are dressed like scrubs.

I have chronic kidney stones. sometimes, PJ pants are all I can wear without hurting my already-sore side.
    Oh that's right, i don't care anyway.

Whats does caring about your appearance have to do with wearing PJ pants in public, people seem to be under the assumption that just cause your wearing them it was what you wore to bed the night before. My pet peeve is when I hear people judging other people not knowing anything about them. I care about what I think not what other people think and i will always stick to that if I want to throw on something comfy and go to the store I will and not care if someone thinks its because I DON'T CARE ABOUT MY APPEARANCE. Its very ignorant in my opinion to think that way

I think it's awful...I have seen more than my share of GROWN UPS...obviously past college age in pj's and slippers. I just witnessed this AT THE MALL last weekend. This woman was grown..she had a wedding set on her left ring finger and was obviously past her early 20s. She had on print bottoms and a print top that didn't even match. Not that this would make it ok. She also had on slippers. At the mall. I was stunned. I've worn mine in the car to drop my kids off at school, however, mine are yoga pants and a tank top. Not obviously pajamas. It just takes a minute to slip on some sweat pants/yoga pants and a shirt. And brush your hair, omg I've seen some horrid looking hair, like it hasn't been brushed in DAYS!!! I'm so glad that most everyone has the same views.
