Well girls Jeremy and Nathan both are safe but a friends Uncle is one of the 4 missing miners that they are looking for.I am praying so hard that he and the other 4 are still alive because Rick is a family friend and it would be so sad to lose the other 4 miners on top of the other 25.Continue to pray for these families. We now have heard that a group from Westboro Baptist church are coming in to protest the deaths of these coal miners by telling the families that GOD HATES US and we are all going to HELL!!! These people are using God to hide behind while they HATE .These are just one of the many comments this church has made over many things going on in the World and I would like to share this particular one."The Lord God Almighty killed [the people who died on 9/11], looked at them in the face, laughed and mocked at each one of them as he cast each one of them into hell".

Yes these people wrote this and they have said awlful things about the miners who lost there lives.People have been making jokes saying 25 used pick up trucks for sale,or what do you get when you put a hillybilly and an explosive together? these comments are painful and wrong. These people also say THANK GOD FOR DEAD SOLDIERS on picket signs. Those dead soldiers are the reason they are allowed their freedom of speech.I hate to say this as a Christian for 23 years,if these people show up in my community with there picket signs and HATRED WORDS well lets just say that people around hear are fierce when it comes to GOD,family and friends. So they just might be welcoming theirselves for what us country folk call MOUNTAIN JUSTICE,and they might as well put a sign on there foreheads that says "Please point gun here"So sad people are like this and using God to show their hatred.

There is a group called the "Patriot Guard Riders" who are a group of motorcycle riders that may be of assistance. To the best of my knowlege they will provide escorts for funeral prosessions and they will also form a human barrier holding american flags to prevent the picketers from being exposed the to or interupting the funeral for those who were in the military.
    http://www.patriotguard.org/

    There mission statement is:
    Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

    1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
    2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

This group is amazing! My husband belongs and it does some wonderful things. I am not sure how many of the miners were part of the military but, for those who were maybe these guys can help shield some of the ignorance of the group you speak of.

WOW!!! That is amazing. I think what these guys are doing is wonderful. A fallen soilder should never be treated with such disrespect. I know that freedom of speech is our American right but I do NOT think it is being used properly. Freedom of speech should not impede on someones right to bury their loved one who fought for their freedom. God Bless these men who fight for our freedom and God bless the Patriot Guard riders.

Momma-That is so awesome that you have lost 4 pounds this week! Since you clean like a crazy woman wanna come clean my apartment? I have a 1500 square foot apartment andI hate cleaning the whole thing. It sucks!! I know 20's isn't old but for some reason I am having a very difficult time thinking that I'm now going to be closer to my 30's then I am to my 20's and there is so much I still want to accomplish. I will be 26 next Friday. And planning a party is always frustrating for me. I'm one of those who tries to accomodate everybody so everyone is happy. That never happens. So. I'm just going to do what I wanna do. I don't really care!

  Dont worry I am not one of those crazy people who will turn on you because you say something I dont like! I appreciate the input and feedback regardless of whether I use it or not. Trust me I know I need to eat more it just scares the hell out of me because it goes against everything I was ever taught...and yes per your previous advice I have gone and read all the threads for the newbies and I udnerstand it all, now I just have to tell my brain to believe it!!! I will eat more I will eat more, haha

Whew. I have a tendency to speak too candidly. :embarassed:
I know it's a struggle to believe it -- I struggled with it too (and still do, obviously, because I definitely don't eat 100% of my exercise calories!). All I can say is that eating more (but, of course, not WAY more) has actually worked for me. But you know that already.

My bf is freaking out a little, too. He'll be 31 in 2 weeks. 30 didn't bother him at all. But, it's like 31 makes it real. My brother will also be 31 next Saturday. :noway: Old is really sneaky!

Believe me I have given the false impression that my house is emaculate!!! Not so!!! I have clean bathroom walls and floors. Don't let me get started on the front door that is covered in dirty hand prints that I CAN NOT get off for the life of me. I like my house clean but spotless it is not. Just clean!!!

My roommate/best friend had a hard time turning 25. We kept saying she was having a quarter life crisis! I'm struggling this year. But its pretty much set that we are doing what I want to do! It's hard to plan a going out event when people don't have much money. So we're having two. It's still a week away so knows what will actually happen! I am trying to live it all up and enjoy every moment. I really try to not stress the small stuff. I will get what I want accomplished. My number one on my list was to lose all this excessive weight. And I'm accomplishing that!

    Full stalker mode, yes.

I appreciate candidness in a way most other people apparently don't so I think that's why I'm like this. I tend to forget not everyone feels that way (and that's when I get myself into trouble). I walk around with my foot in my mouth quite often. I guess my filters don't work quite as efficiently as most other peoples'. :ohwell:
I'd "work on it" but I'm really not sure it's something I want to change about myself.

I went to an all girls' high school (I know, and I survived)...and I was always the one that all the girls came to for advice on boy, clothes etc...at first I was like what the hell I am the fat girl in class I have never had a boyfriend and I have never fit into any of these 'cute' clothes you are asking me to comment on. It finally dawned on me that they asked me for advice not because I had experience in the matter but because I was brutally honest.

Does this dress make me look fat? -Yes
Is this a good color for me? -No
Do you think he really likes me? -Not a shot

Hahah, poor girls I wonder how much of the advice I gave out back then was actual constructive criticism as opposed to me being jealous...eh

ps- I really can type and spell, I promise! I just type really fast on here then forget to check my work...dont think Im stupid! thanks!

Bluenote: Great jog on walking a mile outside!

Cris: Good luck with that spin class. You're brave!

Jesyka: I'm excited that you found a park nearby for you and your fiance to visit when the weather gets better.

Littlespy: I know what you mean about not being able to wear zip up boots. I've always wanted a pair but they never fit my calves...until now! I bought a pair a few months ago because I could zip them half way up. I've been trying them on periodically to see if I'm making progress and now they'll go all the way up!

Awestfall: I'm so glad to hear that both of your friends are okay. Hopefully your friend's uncle makes it out as well. The protesters sound absolutely horrible. I can't believe someone would say such a thing. If it had been their relative lost in the mine or in 911, do you think they'd have the same view? That's just unbelievable.

COgirl: We also have the Patriot Guard and they do a wonderful service.

Jess: You can totally do week 5! It sounds like cleaning your apartment would be a good workout. Your apartment is bigger than both levels of my rambler combined! My house is 1400 square feet and I rarely have to do much in the basement. Plus, my two roommates (mom and sister) help with the upkeep, which is nice.

I'm totally bummed that Onederland is no longer with us! I hope everything is alright with her.

Yesterday, I went for a 1.5 hour, fast paced walk with my boyfriend and his sister. The terrain was even fairly hilly (next to the Mississippi River in Hastings, MN) and we burned almost 500 calories. Then I undid all of the hard work eating wings and nachos, but I had it planned that way for the evening so no regrets! Nate warned me that his sister was a really fast walker and I never even had to get into my power walk mode. Apparently I walk really fast for someone who is only 5'6"!

    Checking in for yesterday:
    Calories: Over by 701
    Sodium: Over by 3672
    Water: 40 oz.
    Exercise: 1.5 hour walk
Proud: That even though I went over my calories, it was all planned so I don't feel bad!

Nothing wrong with being honest and candid when someone asks your opinion. Just need to make sure that you do it in a kind way and make sure they wanted your opinion. I know someone who if you ask her what she thinks of your haircut She says "Do you want me to lie or be honest?" Not nice!!! Being honest is always the best policy as long as it is done in a nice way!! I am not so blunt and forward as I use to be, I have hurt way too many feelings. Part of being 39 I guess I have learned from my mistakes.

Thanks Colorado Girl I am definitely going to check there web page out. These protestors are already at our state capitol with picket signs saying "God killed these miners on purpose and that they deserved to die" These men that worked in this mine were friends and family members to so many besides myself. This breaks my heart that peopl can be so cruel.

So here's my question...do these protesters think it is a crime to work hard to support your family? Perhaps that is why these people are out carrying signs instead of being at work.

    Well said hajohnson24!

awestfall: glad to hear about your friends, I am praying for the 4 missing still. I'm sorry about those protesters - that is just maddening.

I too am sad about Onederland leaving us, I hope all is ok.

momma2four: great job on the big loss so far this week! I really wished you lived in Minnesota so I could talk you into cleaning my house!

darn ... I've already forgotten everyone else I was going to comment on ...

    checking in for yesterday:
calories: under, under, under ... that is a first this week!
exercise: yippee for me ... my daughter talked me into an unplanned trip to the Y after work to do turbo kick (that is the only reason I'm under on calories ... but hey - I'm proud of myself anyhow!) :drinker:
    water: probably under ....
proud: of kicking butt at turbo kick, and being a good exercise example to my daughter

I haven't had a good week with food ... it has been another bad week at work. I kind of hit my limit yesterday and exploded at my boss ... probably not as much as I should have - but I'm usually a very quiet even-tempered person so any outbursts are unusual, I had just had enough. I set up a meeting today with my boss, a co-worker (who is also driving me crazy wanting me to do his job and hold his hand through everything ... even though he is supposed to be a senior programmer), and another manager to try to clear up some 'miscommunications' that I stumbled on yesterday- which was why I blew up.... just to find out that one of the things I have been working hard on (and struggling with) the last 2 months wasn't even necessary! And my boss was told about it in January but didn't communicate with anyone! and even though I told him almost daily that I was having problems with this process - he didn't put it together that he was told we didn't need it anymore! AAAARGH! At least I don't have to fight with that process anymore that wasn't working ... but I am very angry with the waste of my time ... especially when my boss won't acknowledge that he did anything wrong! :explode: :explode: :explode:

You didn't ask for my opinion () but I have to (respectfully!) disagree.

Some of the most important advice I have been given are things I didn't want to hear... from people who's opinions I didn't necessarily want. If people waited until I *wanted* their opinion about it, I probably never would've done the things I needed to do in certain situations. So, I think you should feel pretty free to give your unwanted opinion, but at the same time understand that people are also going to feel free not to take your unwanted advice.

Well i did it i worked out today, 1st time in like two weeks...woohoo...

MOmma - thanks for asking about my girls :) THe little one is doing good she went back to the ENT last week and he said looked all clear. I think she can hear a little better cause when i am correcting on how she is saying stuff she is really trying to say what we tell her, before she would always says "h' instead of "S" sound, like hock for sock and such, so we got her saying sssss sounds but now she wants to put in on everyhthing hahah...still having trouble with the "c" and "K" sounds but she is getting there.

The other one..it about the same...she has good days and bad, she is still going to the conselor every other week.....at this point unless she bombs she will be going to 2nd grade i want to think of some fun things where I can get her intertested in writing this summer, just not sure what yet.

    WTG on that 4 lbs...!!!!

I have to admint I will not be loosing this weekend. I didn't even weigh in from last week, so it is to weeks ago i am like 3lbs ++ but that is like 6lbs down from monday so I will take it.

All the talks of bday's, oh how i wish to be in the 20's again

I am sure you are right. I have also found that unsolicited advice causes people to rebel against it. People know what they are supposed to be doing they just need to figure it out on their own. I personally do not respond well to others telling me "HOW" I should be doing things unless I have asked them. I am getting better about it, like I said experience has helped me to grow. Sometimes unsolicited advice comes off as being a "know it all" . Just my opinion. I think when someone states a problem they are having on a message board they are seeking advice but I just think we all have to be careful how we give it. Some people are more sensitive than others and may take it wrong. I personally am not sensitive and I put unsolicited advice right where I want it, in one ear and out the other.

LittleSpy-I'm the same way. I speak my mind. I walk around with my foot in my mouth a lot too. My friends and family are used to it. It's the new people that aren't. Oh well!

lildebbie-WTG on getting some exercise in! Proud of you!
