    Congrats on trivia night Bluenote!!

I just got home from visiting my family for my brother's birthday about an hour ago. Had a good time -- ate way too much steak. :noway: It's okay. I may or may not bother to log it. Wasn't nearly as successful today in convincing my family to be active with me. I played some basketball... by myself. :ohwell:

I'm really worried about my mom. She needs some good thoughts or prayers if you're the praying kind. She's not feeling well at all... She thinks she may have MS. And... she has over 35 years of experience as a registered nurse so I don't think she's just exaggerating her symptoms. It's kind of all I can think about right now. I just get so concerned when she's not feeling well. :frown:
I also worry about my brother. He's gotten so big and has so many health problems. I wish I knew how to convince my family to try being healthier. :ohwell: I guess leading by example is the best I can do.

littlespy: Thinking of you and your family. It can be really hard to encourage people to get active with you. Congrats on getting out there and being active alone! I'm sure you're an example for your brother, whether he will admit it or not.

    Check-in from yesterday:
Calories: Hard to be sure here, since we ate at a restaurant that doesn't publish calories, so I had to make guesses. I would say I'm probably over, but within 100 cals. I ate EVERY single exercise calorie back yesterday. (I'm totally with you here bluenote!)
Water: Just hit 64. If we were counting wine, that would be another story and was probably 30 oz...
Exercise: 45 min of cardio (eliptical and stationary bike), 28 min of Shred Level 2
Proud: I saw a friend who I hadn't seen in about 2 weeks. She texted me to tell me I looked so thin!

Today is going to be all about water and exercise. I feel like I've had a great week so far and I want to make sure I didn't take 2 steps backwards yesterday.

Hi everyone, I do not usually check in on Sundays. I consider this a family day and try to stay away from the computer. Anyways, I had a minute thought I would put my calories down. I think I will be over today.:ohwell: But I did get some exercise in. I played Duck, Duck, Goose with my kids and Red light, green light. Did some jumping on a small trampoline so I do not know how to record my exercise but I did it. Duck duck, goose was hard for me:laugh:   By the time I got up the kid who picked me was waiting to take my seat. They decided they would wait for me to get up so that I could run around the circle. it is one of the things I am doing to try to teach my son to follow directions and such. I would appreciate any other suggestions for games that I could play with my son.

litspy - I know exactly how you feel about your brother. I have the same issue over here with one of my brothers. I know that for me, and most probably you'll agree it was this way for you, outsiders can't really do much except like you said, lead by example. It had to come from me when I was ready. I will pray for him and for your mother. And I am sending you a big hug & positive energy because I can sense you are pretty stressed about it. :flowerforyou:
elmox (was it Lauren? Can't remember.) - you will fit in just fine here once you mentioned the wine. LOL  Well, not all of us are wine drinkers - some are non-drinkers - but a few of us like our wine! <----winking at mstahl
momma - email me on here your son's diagnosis, if you have one, or what you sense he needs to work on. I have a music therapy degree as well and will send you ideas based on what he needs.

    check in:
Well, yesterday was quite a bit over with the trivia night, so today I did not want to overdo it. Lo and behold my dad calls and wants to go to the casino to a buffet! I stood my ground and said, no thanks! That's a first!
    cals: good
    water: 90
exercise: the full monty (you know bike, etc.)
proud: I passed on a buffet today when I knew I didn't want to have two days in a row of overeating and loads of sodium!

It was a good, relaxed day. A friend ended up coming over for dinner and we went to a Mexcian restaurant. I could have made better choices (didn't need to eat the flour tortillas with my fajitas and could have had a few less chips...), but overall, I think I did well (no enchiladas or burritos!).

    Cals: Under
    Water: 80 oz
Exercise: 75 min of cardio at the gym, then 2 miles of walking in 1/2 mile intervals (to and from the grocery store, to and from the restaurant)
Proud: I ran for 4 1/2 minutes straight on the treadmill today. Pretty sure that's a new record for me!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

    Checking in for today
    Calories - about 1650
    Water - 100oz
Exercise - over 4 hours of gardening, heavy duty stuff, burned at least 1400 calories, that's a record for me

Proud that I didn't eat 3 bars of chocolate to account for all of those exercise cals

    LittleSpy,
Sorry to hear that sadness in your writing when it comes to your family. I completely agree with bluenote, you can't change your brother but you are setting an amazing example!!!:drinker: :flowerforyou: Sorry about your mother too, I hope that she feels better and doesn't have MS. I'll be thinking of you.
p.s. your new photo is BEAUTIFUL

Wow have I had a busy weekend!! WOW WOW WOW WOW!! That's all I can say! :noway: But it was probably the best birthday I have ever had! I didn't log my calories. I weighed this morning and still maintained my weight from Friday so that's a good sign. Pretty sure I stayed within my calories all weekend. There wasn't any snacking and every meal I had I pretty much shared with my cousin. Missed getting to talk with everybody on Friday but tomorrow everything is back to normal. I have a goal to work out everyday Mon-Fri this week. I need y'all to hold me to it! I need to lose 5 pounds at least before my trip May 6th! Nope everybody had a fabulous weekend!
