    Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but I doubt few people would consider poptarts and ice cream every day a 'moderate' thing. Once in a while, maybe, but every day hardly seems moderate or appropriate as part of a healthy diet.

    Ignorance is bliss though, so, enjoy! I don't really care what you eat, or how healthy you are, you're a complete stranger. But I'll defend my point since you decided to call me out, however misguided and rude your comment was.

    I will properly respond to this once I get home. Very difficult to cite sources while using a phone. Although I'm aure you'll prefer to continue to rely on old wives tales & propaganda. Just a hunch.

    Holy *****, I can't believe I avoided this post for so long. I will cry if they don't have these flavours tomorrow at the grocery store.

    They are limited edition so you might want to hit the dollar stores... The big box store will ship them off to the dollar stores once they move them out...... :drinker:

    oops ...messed that up... anywhoo...I am in Florida and we have stores called Big Lots. I have seen the limited edition seasonal flavors sold there.

    If I eat 1600 to 1700 calories a day of lean protein, veggies, fruits, whole grains, olive oil, nuts, etc, and choose to have the last 300 or 400 calories be from ice cream or another sweet, exactly what am I missing from my healthy diet? Or, how does that sweet cancel out all the other healthy foods I eat?

    Yes, I do have something sweet every day. Not always ice cream (this week, it's a raspberry chocolate chip semifreddo that I made a few days ago and have been enjoying), but something sweet. I find it completely appropriate as a part of my healthy diet, and one of the reasons I am not struggling at all to make this lifestyle change.

    this is just dead wrong..the only raspberry you should be eating is raspberry ketones...don't you people watch dr oz?????? bahahahahahahaha

    Can't I at least have raspberry Pop Tarts with my raspberry ketones?

    as long as you avoid starvation mode, yes you can...

    :( I'm in Canada and I haven't seen Poptarts in the dollar stores that i can recall. But you can be damn sure I'll be checking .

    ^^^ This is exactly what I do too! I make sure I get my protein goal each day and make sure I get some fruits and veggies. If I have calories left over, I have something sweet.

    Also, I've started making cheesecake with my protein powder, so it contributes to my protein goal and it's yummy!

Look at there diaries and its a tiny serving of the bad stuff . It's just not as cool to start a thread saying " I eat 95 percent heathy and a small serving of treats .

    That depends on your definition of tiny serving. I am the OP and I eat a pint of ice cream a night. It is less than 20% of my total daily intake though.

    Can't be Ben & Jerry's then, I guess, as that is generally over 900 a pint for the ice cream, had enough of those to know, what ice cream is 660 odd per pint ?

    I do eat Ben & Jerry's pints about once a week for 1000 cals on average. My daily pint is usually Dreyer's / Edy's for 400-600.

    Blue Bell? Not the Red Velvet Cake flavor. I have it on very good authority that it has 800 creamy, delicious, cake-filled calories per pint. Luckily, it's sold in half gallons, so the rest of the family gets some, too. Even better, it's on sale at my local grocery store through tomorrow.

    Causes of type 2 diabetes
    Development of type 2 diabetes is usually multifactorial - that is, several factors combine to cause it. The most important of these is genetics. Children of people with type 2 diabetes have a one in three chance of developing the condition themselves.

    In regards to HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup), its molecular makeup is essentially identical to sucrose (table sugar) - it is composed of glucose and fructose in nearly identical quantities as sucrose. Just as with sucrose, consumption in excess (creating a caloric surplus) can lead to weight gain - but there is nothing "dangerous" about HFCS, any more so than with glucose, fructose or sucrose. Context and dosage is relevant (but widely ignored by those with an axe to grind).
