    I started trying to lose weight around the first of this year, 2014. I had a set of 5lb dumbbells that I've been using ever since, consistently. Combined with dancing and walking at home, I feel it's contributed in a HUGE way!

    This pic is my weight at my heaviest, 203lbs and me currently, 159lbs and dropping. I cant wait to post another update pic at the end of the year after more weight loss and heavier lifting! So eager to see how it's all going to play out.

    This thread, and all it's actual pic posting bulky b*tches, are absolutely gorgeous, inspirational, amazing! Weight lifting is obviously the way to go. You all super rock.

    Under bust = 38 inches

    Now, 5 months after starting a progressive loading heavy lifting program:

    Waist = 27 inches
    Hips = 36.5 inches
    Under bust = 31 inches
    Thighs = 21.5 inches
    Arms = 11 inches


    17.2 lbs lost. 4 sizes lost. Approximately 10% BF lost. 21 inches (and counting) lost.



    Still think heavy lifting will make you "bulky?" Think again.


    Heavy lifting ladies, I invite you to post YOUR before and after pics. Maybe, just maybe, we can attempt to snuff out this, "WEIGHT LIFTING WILL MAKE ME HYOOOOGE" myth.

    I really wish you had adjusted the white balance before taking that second pic so it wouldn't be all yellow.

    Amazing work! It's hard to believe that the 'before' photo is even you! Your whole posture has transformed with the fat loss and strength gain too, that alone has taken years off of you!

    Ok, this makes me want to get Bulky.

    I currently have about 120 lbs to lose - and from what I'm reading, I should I start now to attempt lifting heavy? (I'm a weakling and currently do the weight machines at the gym a few times a week and free-weight biceps).

    I love this thread!!! Started lifting heavy about 3-4 years ago. Ditched (most of) the cardio. I'm in the best shape of my life. No pics to show, but still. Heavy lifting is the way to go!

    I was weak and could hardly deadlift 60 pounds without breaking. Now I squat and deadlift way more than my body weight. No one would ever say I'm bulking, but muscular, YES. Lift!

    Ok, I'm in. So deadlifts are the ones where you squat and lift to your waist, yes?

    I doubt I could lift 60 more than once or twice... maybe I could do 40 if I had to do a set of 10 - but I'm sure I'd be wiped out if I had to do more than one set ... Squats are a lot harder than using the Leg Press machine.

    Weight lifting has made me SO bulky!! WAAAHHHH, I've lost 6 inches from my hips and another 4" from my waist...!

    thanks for the inspiration guys! i have just moved to a new gym where they encourage lifting, and had a free PT session where we worked on free weights. my routine's now totally changed and i'm looking forward to seeing the difference after putting in some hard work :)

    Here's mine... I started in a size 20W in March of 2013. I picked up my first weights ever in October of 2013. There is still a lot of size to be lost and a lot of muscle to build, but I am happy with my progress so far. Currently, I am wearing approx an 11 jrs.

    I started lifting with NROLFW - I completed it through Stage 4, due to time constraints I switched to Stronglifts 5x5 - but it wasn't accomplishing what I wanted it to - so I've recently started over on NROLFW.

    I am nearly 40 y/o, and I never imagined I could create a better body the older I became - it still blows my mind! I eat a Primal Blueprint diet, at approx 1600-2000 calories per day - with a stong focus on protein - I've only recently started tracking on MFP again, in an effort to quit messing around and lose these last few sizes.

    I encourage everyone in my life to pick up weight (then put it back down), and eat a diet of non-processed foods. My quality of life has increased much more than I had ever dreamed it could!
