I just read that and saw the picture of one of the guys with bloody hands holding a cleaver. The article said that he was hacked pretty badly but it did not say that there was a beheading.

I have my polo shirt on and changed my FB profile and cover pictures to the 'Help the Heroes' logo

Kinda nice but frustrating to hear at the same time .... the 'Help for Heroes' online shop crashed from too many visitors yesterday afternoon.

The two Islamic extremists attempted to behead him, as stated in the link you posted:

In the first terrorist murder on the British mainland since the 7/7 suicide bombings of 2005, the men attempted to behead the soldier, hacking at him like a “piece of meat” in front of dozens of witnesses,

The sooner preachers of fundamentalist religion are stomped out the better, whatever particular brand of religious hatred they peddle.

As for the guy who decided to preach to camera with his hands covered in blood - well words fail me. The rant about 'your' government, 'your people' .... ironic when the man was born in Britain himself so in fact it's HIS government and HIS people. However, if he feels that divorced from our country my suggestion is to take him out over the Atlantic in a Chinook and drop him in the ocean so he doesn't have to continue to feel sullied by the country he was born and brought up in.

Too bad there was not an armed citizen nearby who could have helped this poor man. Lord have mercy.

This topic is sure to be locked at some point but I just want to say that my thoughts go to that soldier and his family.

NOBODY deserves to die like that.

It doesn't happen that often to warrant us all having guns..
I'm British, it disgusted me, I am also disgusted by the number of innocent people killed every day by our own Army too.

Hard not to read as "Someone has died! Agenda fuel! What a great opportunity to peddle my views on a completely unrelated topic of gun control!"

We don't want guns here thank you.

We don't need more innocent deaths.

It was a horrific tragedy by a couple of lunatics, we also don't need the likes of the EDL trying to capitalise on this poor mans death to escalate things into a race war.

The actions of a few do not represent the masses.

We don't have any armed citizens - guns (rifles) are only allowed for hunting/sporting purposes, are owned under licence and have to be kept locked in a strong box when not in use.

The best chance would have been one of the motorists who'd passed by to have a crack at running them down.

thats not terrorism, thats a guy with a machete.

BAGHDAD — A wave of car bombings and shootings hit cities in Iraq late Sunday and on Monday, killing at least 76 people and wounding more than 250, medical and security officials said. Some news agency reports put the overall toll even higher, at 86 or more dead.

Latest news is, all off duty soldiers ordered to 'cover up' i.e. do not wear anything that relates to help the heros. As if you can't recognise an off duty soldier no matter what they are wearing, they are fit, tanned and generally young and if there is a barracks nearby the likelihood of such a young man being is solider is very likely. This seems to be a random attack by two lunatics and unlikely to be repeated. It is horrific that this has happened on a London street. The only person to confront one of the attackers was a woman in her 50s and other women tried to protect the young mans body from further attack. The police shot the 2 men its just a pity they didn't kill them.

:D I love it there. Though there's a bar at the place where I live so I tend to go there more often than not as it's 30 seconds away. At least they have Saltaire Blonde.
