Got me some good Christmas gifts for getting me skinny and fit in the new year.
Arm band for my ipod when I am working out
7 lb Kettle Bell
Some hand weight 3 lbs and wrist weighs 2lbs (these weren't really a gift,I asked my mom for them and she had some around the house and gave them to me
new collapsible measuring cups
Brita Water Pitcher
I am getting some $$ from the inlaws and Planning on getting a HRM too
I think I am ready to get this going in the new year (and this week too) ...Lets go girls lets make 2010 the year for all of us. I turn 35 this year And I am doing it this year, ..I have lost a total of 29 lbs ..lets just round up and say 30 This year. (8 before mfp and the rest after), so it definitely is a benefit in my life..21 lbs in 3 months isn't the outcome when I started but let me tell you it is much more than if I have given up every time i had a little set back...Hey 21 lbs in 3 months, if I do that every 3 months that is over 80lbs in a year.
I got some pj from my sister a size smaller than the ones she got me last year. They started getting really big and asked for her a size smaller, thinking it may be a little time before i could wear them , but i am wearing them as I am typing....made me happy to wear a 2x instead of 3x.0 -
My family was making fun of me (mostly in a nice way) for having these HORRIBLE hot flashes. I have them BAD, because (so I hear) surgical menopause is harsher since your body quits estrogen cold turkey than normal menopause. Hot flashes get worse with caffeine and or :drinker: alcohol. The 24 hours I was at Mom and Dads I had far more alcohol and caffeine than normal so about every half hour I would go stand out-side, or I'd be sweating and fanning myself... I slept Christmas eve in the unheated room up in the attic (with my sister's beagle LOL!) - it was perfectly comfortable for me!
(My husband's been sick all week and just showed up to open gifts Christmas day)
Anyway I had to share that - I'm the only big person in my family and the hot flashes seem to draw attention to that for what ever reason. Today I pulled on a t-shirt to wear under a sweater to lunch so I would have options and this tee that used to be a little too snug (American Apparel?) now fits just right! It made me smile :bigsmile:0 -
Woah -- carb hangover.
I weighed in yesterday but never had a chance to post. I was down 1 pound (from 230.2 to 229.2) and I'm *very* happy with that considering all I ate Christmas Eve. Somehow still at 229.2 today, so yay!

Good Morning everyone. I hope you all had a nice Christmas. I had a wonderful Christmas. Ate too much both days. Christmas Eve and Christmas day. Anyways not letting that get me down. My babies had a wonderful Christmas. My husband and I quit buy gifts for each other when we had the 3rd and 4 th child. Besides my gift is watching them open up presents and be so thrilled. I love that. I was so pleased all my children were very happy. I have grateful, good children. They are a gift to me.

Hey i'm new to this but you ladies seem really awesome and really motivated and I want in! I started MFP (seriously this time) 3 weeks ago. I've lost 8lbs so far. My weigh in days are Tuesdays in honor of the Biggest Loser (new season starts Jan 5th tune in)!
I did really well this Christmas. I practiced very good portion control and only had one serving compared the the 3 servings I ate last year. I'm completely in love with the changes I see in my body. I'm a very active single mom to a little boy and I'm doing this all for him....and for my best friends wedding in Oct 2010. I was a fat bridesmaid once and I don't want to do it again! I'll report back on Tuesday to see how I've done!

Welcome we have plenty of room. Look forward to getting to know you.0

Oh my goodness I cannot believe I am the biggest loser! LOL But hey I'll take it! Probably won't happen again in the 400s so what the heck!
OK here is our FINAL challenge for 2009 (drumroll, please...):
THE WEEK OF NO EXCUSES!
Ta da! Our challenge this week is NO excuses. Log everything, drink the water, exercise FIVE to TEN minutes more than usual EVERY time. And when you don't feel like doing this, you have NO excuses! No one is allowed to post excuses UNLESS they figured out a way to mend the excuse. For example, let's say I was stressed and posted that I ate due to stress. Well, that is NO excuse so I better figure out a way to fix that problem! So then I post I was stressed, overate, but then realized that is no excuse so I drank extra water to help balance it out. If you can fix the excuse, you can use the excuse!
How does that sound girls? Let's not wait for 2010 when we can make our last week of 2009 memorable! It's out last chance workout for 2009!!! Let's focus on the POSITIVE ONLY THIS WEEK! Count our blessings!!!0 -
I this challenge.........
I know one if I eat too much, then I need to exercise more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!10 -
no loss for me this past week and I gained 1 pound so I am not too disappointed in myself because it could have been worse.0

Hello my new friends,
Sorry I joined and couldn't post right away as I went out of town for Christmas with my family in NC. I appreciated the welcomes! I hope to get more in the swing of things this week.
I made my goal which was to not eat sugar treats during the visit. I didn't do food planning or recording. I got a little exercise with a walk on Christmas Eve with my family and a "yoga class" that my daughter gave my sister and I Christmas night. Nothing on the weekend though. I did drink a lot of water. I will be happy if when i weigh in on Friday I've maintained because it is hard to regulate calories without recording and when at the mercy of travel.
The excting Christmas story I have is on Christmas I built my family a lovely vegetarian lasagna. it takes about an hour of prep, so I merrily and happily, roasted and sauted the veggies, made the sauce and built it. Then my sister had built a smaller meat lasagna and we put them in the oven to cook.
I went out to the frontroom and started coloring with my niece and daughter and joking around with my brother. Suddenly my brother said, "Rose, I don't think you'll like what is happening with the lasagna!" and my sister was in the kitchen saying, "There's a problem with the lasagna!"
I went into the kitchen where my sister and my brother-in-law were peering into the open oven and I saw glass shards everywhere, all over the bottom of the oven. The pyrex pan had exploded!
Sadly we realized we were going to have to throw both lasagna's away, since ground glass could've gotten into either of them, even the meat the lasagna. Later we read that a new company has bought the Pyrex brand and many glass pans have exploded. Some have exploded while cooling down in the kitchen outside the oven, so really we were lucky that no one got hurt!0 -

I am so sorry to hear about your lasagne, but I am very glad to hear noone was hurt. That is really frightening. I am so glad you met your sugar goal. I am not so lucky. I went way over on my cals this last week and actually gained some weight.
By the way we have moved and here is our new link.
