Scale seems to be a bit stuck at the moment which is somewhat disheartening but hey ho...this is where NSVs come in to play, right?

First, while I was sitting behind my desk at work last week a work colleague that I hadn't seen for several weeks walked in, took one look at my face, and said 'you've lost weight'! I was so surprised that he could tell I'd lost weight just by looking at my face! Lovely confidence boost.

And second, I have realised that I really must buy a belt. I spend far too much time hitching up my trousers for fear of losing them!

I am now just "overweight" based on BMI! I just realized after my weigh in this morning. And I'm officially a size 14, which made pants shopping so much easier on Sunday.

Had my daughter 3 weeks ago, via c-section, and can fit into the pants I had before I got pregnant, and they fit better! :D

Congrats on your new baby, mama! Take care of yourself. Enjoy wearing NON maternity clothes!

    Hi all,

We hit the 500 mark on the first round of the Non-Scale Victories - NSV's - Care to share.... and they have been so inspiring - I would like to see another round happen.

    :flowerforyou:

A NSV for me - bought capri pants for a trip south in March - can pull them down without unzip or unbottoning.... What a feeling!

Thanks all, in advance, for continuing to share!!

I'm not trying to be pornographic here, but sex is 100 times better. Better movement, more muscles, etc.

I went out for dinner last week and got the low-calorie option and enjoyed it more than I would enjoyed the calorie laden options i usually go for. I think the smugness of making a wise choice adds a lovely bit of extra flavor to your food!

As I walked into a department store bathroom this weekend, it hit me that I no longer feel the need to use the handicapped one so as to have enough room, I now go in the first one avail!! Somewhat of a strange NSV, but for those of you that have "been there" you understand how big a deal this is!! :blushing:

    I have had several:

First one, in June I was able to ride rollercoasters for the first time in 8 years!

Second: I have lost 3 pants sizes

Third: I can finally run 1 mile without dying!

Gave birth to my son almost twelve years ago and have been heavy ever since. Never upped the weight on my drivers license. Now, for the first time in over twelve years, I match that weight printed on my license. So excited that when it is time to update it, I can actually change it to a LOWER weight, since I am planning on losing at least another 15 lbs or so.

I am up to a size 2 and it is a great feeling especially when the legs are bigger and you can see the muscles both in my arms and legs. OK,( I can't be the only one) trying hard to balance exercise and what we eat and to gain weight and more importantly muscle tone so we can be healthier and enjoy different activities

    - I keep having to use a leather punch to put new holes in my belt.

    - The acceleration on my motor scooter keeps getting better as I get smaller. There's an old joke on scooter forums: "The best, performance upgrade for your scooter is to lose 20 pounds."

    - The last time I was on a plane, I had a little wiggle room in my seat. I also read that some airlines are making their seats a little bigger in the future due to the growing size of most Americans. If I keep losing weight and the seats expand a bit, I'll effectively have a free seat upgrade! :)

My only wish now is that the weight penalties on luggage took into account your body weight as well. It would be nice to be able to pack a little extra once I'm not "packing a little extra." It's just weird that if I'm 175 (my goal weight), and my luggage is 55 pounds (for a total of 230 lbs), I pay a huge cash penalty for my bag being "overweight", but when I was 230 pounds with a 40 pound bag (270lb total) I didn't pay anything extra. Why not just have me place all my luggage and myself on a big scale (with the weight read-out only visible to me, to avoid embarrassment), and have the kiosk just tell me how much extra I have to pay for the weight I'm bringing along? I suspect this would be seen at fat shaming or something, but to me, it just seems fair.

Simple to some, noticeable to me. One day not so long ago I noticed that I had to scoot to the edge of my seat and grab my car door to help me out of the car (low to the ground), I think because I was heavier than I have been since carrying my children. Yesterday, I noticed that I just got up. I opened the door and got out without thinking about it. I noticed that I didn't scoot and smiled secretly to myself and my little victory.

I noticed something strange today...I was changing out of my gym clothes and my eye spotted something on my lower back (in the mirror). Back dimples...! I don't recall ever seeing those in the past. Awesome. :blushing:

Sounds daft but people are beginning to recognise me at the gym - I'm becoming a regular :)

    My NSV:

I went clothes shopping today and AE had a sale on jeans. I usually wear a 14, even if its a little snug. When I tried on the pair I was interested in, it buttoned & zipped with NOTHING hanging over the front, over the sides, and there wasn't that pouch in the front that's made where my underwear doesn't come up as high as the pants.
Then, I went to try on a top at Target & I grabbed both a L & XL, after the pants discovery I wasn't sure, and the L fit so much nicer than the XL!

I was one happy girl shopping today! I shopped with confidence & that's unusual!

That's not daft - I knew I had found the right gym when the group of powerlifters and strongmen not only welcomed me aboard, but gave me a nickname and ask if I'm not there on my regular schedule!

    - hearing people say "you look good!" - best confidence booster, right there.
    - being able to try on clothes, not fretting so much about if they're going to be really snug/horrid-fitting
    - feeling confident enough to wear colored denim (purple skinnies... woo!)
    - running without a side-stitch and getting out of breath as easily
    - liking who's staring back at me from the mirror :)
