I live in Seattle Everything here sucks. There is nothing to do. Nobody should ever move here.
The Space Needle seems like it would be fun!! And what about the ferry boats!?
I get the feeling he's trying to keep out the riff-raff!
I am heading to the Seattle area in Sept - I have a sister who lives in Fife WA, and have visited that lovely area before. Much to see, lots to do...............................
I live in Duluth MN. We are a fabulous port town on the southwestern tip of Lake Superior. I love where I live - not a huge town, but big enough to have nightlife and concerts and fun..............lots of green space, hiking trails, beautiful things to see.

**WARNING** Don't be Jealous!!! LOL...

Live in the Hampton Roads region which includes surrounding cities like Norfolk, VA beach, Williamsburg. This place is like any other cities but has a lot of history considering this is where the nations first established colony was and a lot of civil war stuff!0

New Zealand, specifically in the Northland region. The only thing to do around where I live is go on long walks. There are nature reserves around with hiking trails. It gets pretty dull once you've hiked in the same spots all year long though. There are some cows outside in the paddocks around my house and I feed them bread sometimes.
I miss the city. A lot.0 -
Dubai.
Nothiiiiiiiiiiiiing. You can lock yourself up in your house until you go crazy.0 -
Auburn, CA
You can go up the hill and ski; Mountain bike, road bike, run, movies, theater, concerts, dining, hang out in the middle of town; Take an hour trip to the ocean, go to the river or lake to swim, fish or whatever; Hiking trails; Lots of festivals/events year round.
I am from Los Angeles. Do I really need to tell you what there is to do around here ... plenty0 -
Christchurch, New Zealand.
We have no city center anymore after the earthquakes last year (it's still cordoned off and a huge demolition / construction site), but some shopping malls in the suburbs etc..
It's a good place if you are into the outdoors. The beach is just down the road, the mountains are 1.5 hours away, whale watching 1.5 hours, lots of tramping and biking opportunities. But I'm not really enjoying life here anymore. It's a bit too conservative.0 -
I live in Trondheim, Norway. There are some nice hiking trails here, and in the winter time lots of great places for skiing.
We have the best football (soccer) team (at least I think so ^^), Rosenborg, so you can go and see them play. If you're interested in history and arcitecture you can visit the old cathedral in the city centre. There are plenty of old, beautiful wooden buildings even in the heart of the city centre. And quite a few museums, like an old farm museum.
And the theatre is quite nice, known for being a bit more "radical" and modern than other theatres in Norway. They like to change things up quite a bit. There are often concerts all over town as well, a lot of local and smaller artists, and quite often some bigger, international ones.
I love Trondheim0 -
I'm in the land of Ice Road Truckers, Yellowknife, NWT, Canada and I've been here for almost 20 yrs. I'm a correctional officer. The summers and the money is great up here, but the winters are brutal :brrrrrrr:0

A small town in Maine, Charleston,. It's a Dry town (beer store 6 min away, though!!) not even one single store. Not a lot to do. But we do like to go to the beer store....lol
I live on a dairy farm. Hubby is 4th generation.
I live in Maine too! But I've never heard of Charleston! I'm in the Lisbon area currently.0 -
I live in a small town called Orange, Texas. It is located right on the border of Texas and Louisiana, 100 east of Houston, 100 miles west of Lafayette. The only place to shop here is Walmart and the only fun is going out to eat. To find a mall, you have to drive to Beaumont, about 25 miles away. Orange is sooooo much fun! (NOT!)0
-
I live in the LA of the northeast - Lewiston/Auburn twin cities in Maine. It's not a metropolis by any stretch of the imagination, people just like that play on abbreviation.
Lots to do if you enjoy the great outdoors, typical for Maine. We have lakes, rivers, woods and even a place to ski. There is some culture and fine dining but it's pretty bare bones.
The great thing about southern/central Maine is that you don't have to drive too far to find more culture if that's what you're in the mood for. Just 30 mintues down the turnpike and you're in the Greater Portland Area - lots more shopping, restaurants, clubs, etc.
And if you want more culture than that, just stay on the highway for another couple hours and you're in Boston.
Hey we're neighbors!0 -
Let's see...I live in Chino Valley, AZ, which is about 20 miles north of Prescott. It has about 12,000 people. We have a Rec Center in the summer with a pool/slide and classes, skate park, etc. (Have I been there? NO! I won't go to a public pool!) Ummm, lots of kid's baseball games goings there I know that keep me up because I live right behind it....We get a couple triathlons, we host dog shows...We have one major grocery store and lots of little chain stores. It's not a bad little town. More on the farming side though, as it's history included dairy, hay, and pinto bean crops/manufacturing! lol No more beans though-wonder why?? Probably a good thing or else people would be making fun of us why we lived so far away from Prescott! lol:bigsmile:0

Hi! everyone. I haven't read the posts on here yet, but I thought I would just say G'day from Australia. There are SO many wonderful places in the world to visit but so far I have not been overseas. Our land Australia is the smallest Continent but there is so much to see and do here. We have been on several trips but haven't seen anywhere as much as would would like to, yet!
I watch a lot of travel docs on TV and every single Country has something beautiful to see.,
Be Proud of where you live and look after it as much as possible. You are preserving it for your children and future generations.0 -
I live in Manchester, England. It's a big city so there's loads to do and if you are a football fan (soccer) There's always Manchester United. There's fantastic shopping at the Trafford Centre (indoors - good cause it rains a lot here ) . We are also only a short drive away from the beautiful countryside of the Lake District and The Peak district, both National Parks with hiking and all the outdoors stuff. The Roman built city's of Chester and York are also within striking distance for a day out. The weather is not always great as we get a lot of rain but on the whole it's a really good place to live.0

I live in France, in a small and beautiful town called Villefranche-sur-mer, between Nice and Monaco (French Riviera)...

I live in a small town just south of Glasgow, Scotland. Most people moan about where I live and complain that it is a 'dump'. In some ways it is as most of the shops are shut down now and there isn't a cinema or anything like that.
On the plus side, though, we are quite near the Clyde Valley. You can walk there, although it is a relatively long walk (maybe an hour and a half) or drive there in 10 minutes. There are cinemas nearby (about a 20 min drive away). The public transport links are quite good and you can be in Glasgow in about 30-40 minutes on the train or Edinburgh in about an hour (although admittedly, the trains home don't run til very late). There are also quite a lot of walking areas round about in amongst trees and nature (if you ignore all the junk that everyone has thrown into the rivers etc. ). Nearby there is a big park with a lake in the middle where you can have sailing lessons, hire bikes to cycle round the park, go for a walk etc. and there is a fun fair, bowling alley, mini golf, pool and snooker inside there.
There are a few 24 hour supermarkets dotted around and best of all is the gym. The council run gyms here are pretty awesome! My gym is less than a mile from my house, only costs me £20 a month and for that I have access to all the classes, the gym, the track, the conditioning room, the swimming pool, the sauna and the slimming class. I can even have a personal programme written up for me by a personal trainer for the cost of my membership and I can access any of the sports centres run by my council, not only the one nearest me (think there's about 10 in my area with one of them being a massive, specially built centre with all sorts in it including a boxing ring for classes such as boxercise and combat).0 -
I live in West Virginia...In a county without a stop light. I have to drive an hour in any direction to go to a movie, walmart, etc.0

Belfast Northern Ireland
Not a whole lot. Just back from America and there is LOADS to do in comparison with here. i fail to understand why there are crowds of American tourists absolutely flocking Belfast at the moment...0 -
I live on SE coast of NC. I love it here. It is pretty crowded in the summer but I'll never live anywhere else. We're thinking about moving a little bit up the coast to a smaller beach town in a year or two but we'll see. We spend most of our free time during the summer at the beach... any outdoorsy activities we do in the fall/winter/spring when it's not deep fried Hell hot. I love being able to be outside all year around, I think we had maybe two "cold" days here last year. There's a lot to do here and for what you get, it's not horribly expensive to live pretty comfortably.
The only downside to where we live is being right in the hurricane zone but it's a small risk to take, I guess.0 -
-
I live in Bellingham, (WA not MA), we have pretty much got it all if you like outdoors, mountains, ocean, fresh and salt water fishing, skiing, tidepooling, diving, rafting, kayaking and on and on. Not a lot of "culture" but lots to do.0
-
I live in New York.
I guess there's a lot to do, but I avoid it because of the tourists lol.0 -
Maryland Heights, MO (St Louis county) I LOVE IT HERE! We're about 20 minutes from everything, very centrally located :-) Moved here 5 years ago from sunny La Mesa, CA (San Diego county) All kinds of stuff to do, casinos, bars, water parks, lakes, rivers, hunting, fishing, shopping, eating, museums, you name it, STL's got it!0

Bradley, Maine. Ummm... Give me a minute. There's an ice cream shop. Yup. You could tour the WHOLE town in a span of less than 5 minutes. BUT There's Bangor like 15 mins away where theres most anything you need. (But still nothing to exciting) It's Maine.0
