It IS working out, not video gaming, and I'm proof that it does work!!! Yay!
This is one of the reasons I'm excited to see my diabetes doc next month.
"How did you lose so much weight?"
*grin* "Playin' video games"
LOL! My mom thinks they are video games, but I think what I'm doing is inspiring her to get on track with her own diabetes and weight loss. She tells me to keep doing what I'm doing, cuz it's working! And she's NEVER that generous with praise.0 -
I love it, Trish! You're doing great0

Hello.
I took yesterday off. My plan it to work out M-F then take Sat and Sun off. I have 2 kids at home, so getting the Wii on the weekends is nearly impossible anyway.
I have set my calorie burn goal to 455 (the highest you can go) on Wii Fit Plus. I am going to try and do that 3 times a week and then yoga and stretch for 40 minutes the other 2 days.
Today I have completed my Wii Fit Goal! I did this using free run for 10 minutes, free step for 20 and the other calories were on various games.
Hope all have a great day!0 -
Meta, be careful with how high you set your WF+ goal. The calories burnt on there are way off. When I used my HRM with WF+, I burned well over 500 cals when the WF+ said 350. Just make sure you're eating & drinking enough.0

Hi, my husband & I have the Wii Fit. It's really fun! We mostly work out at the gym or outside running, but we try to squeeze this in too. This is especially helpful on Sundays which is our rest day since it's not too intense. I will make my goal for this month to get on it at least every couple of days to weigh & do some yoga. Thanks!0

Ok so today I did:
EA Active - 21 minutes (113 cals)
EA Active more workouts 25 minutes (108 cals)
30 minutes Wii Free Step (108 cals)
Have a good Wii week everyone0 -
Trish: Thank you for your info. I was hoping that it was pretty close. I will have to try and get an HMR.0

Hello everyone and a big welcome to everyone new!
It is never to late to join this post, so just jump on in and post your goals for the remainder of the month.
I have not been making my 45 minutes a day goal.:ohwell: I seem to be stuck on 30 minutes a day and mostly the free step. My big news of the day is that I can still stand up on ice skates. Twenty minutes was as much pain as I could take, but it was fun and the high school students we brought had fun too and that is really all that matters. They want to go again in 2 weeks.
Have a great evening everyone,

Checking in. My goal was 30 minutes on Wii Fit + 5 times a week, and I met it. It is a lot of fun, and I challenged myself to only watch TV while doing free step or free run. Makes for less couch potato time! I also got EA Active, and started day 1 today. It is much harder than Wii Fit +, I can really feel those lunges and squats. I think I will use a bit of both, Wii Fit + for fun, EA Active to work out.
I did have a question. I got a little under the weather and skipped three days of working out. Felt awful, awful, very down and did not log the food here either. Also frankly probably exceeded by daily calorie goal. If not for my wonderful husband's support, I am not sure I would be able to resume. How do you keep motivated when you slip for a few days, even if the slip is due to a good reason (cold, etc). I just could not stop beating myself up and was ready to throw the whole thing out the window.0 -
Hello Everyone!
I had to go back and review the goal I set just to make sure I am reaching it! Yesterday I only did 15 mins with My Fitness Coach, which was a little workout, but I did run 2.3 miles earlier that day. This evening is my Zumba class, but sometime this week, get to do another fitness assessment with MFC. I'll have to see how I do!
But today was a great day in the gym! When I look in the mirror at my side profile while working my arms, I was SO EXCITED with WHO I saw! I know that all my hard work is paying off! I can't wait to return home and see my husband! Right now, all he knows is the pounds I am dropping, but he hasn't seen me!
Seems to be a start to a wonderful day! Have a good day, and happy Wii-ing!:drinker:0 -
Well I've been sticking to my hour a day target on the Wii - I do that in the morning. Last night I tried free stepping whilst watching my TV programme, which worked out ok - I think I might make that a regular thing too.
I'm thinking about getting the EA Active, it does look really good. Can someone tell me how strenuous it is? I hurt my knee badly last March (dislocated it, ruptured two ligaments and fractured kneecap), I'm waiting for reconstructive surgery on it, but until then I can't do anything that puts too much pressure on it. E.G. I can't do the advanced steps on WiiFit+ as it requires a 'pivot'. Obviously the running games are a no-no too.0 -
Hi everyone, what do you think is the best exercise on the wii fit and wii fit plus games to burn max calories
Vixen Pig xx0 -

A HRM is a heart rate monitor. It monitors your heart rate & calories burned during a workout. You can get a really nice one (I have a Polar F7 that I love) on Amazon for $100.
My HRM told me over 500 calories burned while my Wii Fit said 350. BIG difference!0 -
Thank you for the information I will have to buy one.:flowerforyou:0

I totally have this problem too! To the point where I will refuse to do the game anymore! It will register my movements during the running portions, but almost nowhere else! I was completely unimpressed!
That's with the 2009 or 2010 version?
I have the 2009 version.0 -
I have the 2009 version.
I was reading reviews about the 2010, it seems like they worked hard to fix that problem. I am so tempted to give it another try.0 -
I was naughty last week and only played Active once... But today I started my first 30 day challenge! I set it to hard, so I hopefully it won't be too bad. Inline skating = ouch!0

Hello all. Glad to see that everyone is meeting or exceeding their goals. You all are a real inspiration!
I got on the Wii this afternoon and did My Routine. It's 40 minutes of the yoga and strength training. I am not sure how many "correct" calories I burned, so I just have to claim the calories they gave me. Money is tight, so getting a good HMR right now is impossible. Any ideas on a good cheap one?
Have a great night!0 -
Meta, is there any way you can tuck away $10 a month? You could buy yourself one for Christmas
I've found that with HRMs, you pay for what you get. Hubby got me a cheap one for Christmas, and it had all sorts of problems. I'm grateful he let me get a better one.0 -

Unfortunately, right now, no.
We own our own business and it has been SLOWWWWW!
It is a thought when things pick up though!0 -
Day 40 today! My first 6 week challenge will be done on Friday. I started out on low intensity, and changed it to medium for the last two weeks. I started slow and low, because this is something I want to do and not be discouraged by too high of an intensity right off the bat.
I think when I start my second 6 week challenge on Saturday, I will keep it at medium for the first four weeks, and then finally up to high for the last two weeks of that rotation.
I'm still completely blown away that I lost 10# already! EA Active is really an excellent workout.0 -
Hello I have a quick question. I am not a part of this thread but I have a question regarding the Wii Fit. I did free step for an hour. My disc is scratched (I have an 18 month old) and I have to replace it. Basically I did different types of stepping (side, front, back) with arm movement the whole time. Can someone give me an idea on calories burned? I need to log it, but I can't find the info I need.
Thanks so much.0 -
My husband and I are both wii-ing....Stegerdude and Stegerbabe. His goal 17 more pounds, already lost 12. My goal 7 more pounds, only lost 3 so far. The last are the toughest!! That slimquick commercial is so true...living with a 1200 calorie intake is near impossible. But Im trying. Seems unfair when he gets over 1800... Good luck everyone.0

Penelope - I just treat each day as it's own thing. Everyday I try to do the best I can in that day and I don't beat myself up over the bad days.
My favorite games on the Wii are the boxing and free step. They still make me sweat and have really toned my legs.
Have a great evening everyone,
