August Move Your *kitten* Challenge

Hello Everyone!
Okay--so this is my first post for the entire month! :grumble:
NOT because I haven't been moving my bum, but because I was away on vacation, then came home to a crashed computer and damaged modem. So finally back on today--on a new modem from verizon but a pretty old, shaky computer so we'll see how long it holds up.
So: as far as my mileage for this month, my initial goal was 70 miles. I have walked two to five miles each day for many of the days in the month, but since I didn't have access to MapMyWalk and MyFitnessPal I haven't tracked them until last week. So even though it's too low to even have a tiny hope of making my goal for the month my counted total is 19.7 miles.
Crap--I'm only at 19.8%. I should be at 60.9 miles. Grrr... There's no way I can make up 50.3 miles in the next 4 days. :noway:
Dinos, if it's too late to add me onto the spread sheet I understand. Hopefully next month I'll be online more consistently.

We've accumulated 8,500 miles in August.. After 22 months and the contribution of 1,637 people, we can break the 100,000 mile mark if we tally another 900 miles or so .:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
The longevity, the popularity and the success of this challenge is way beyond my wildest expectations since we first started it with denise (bluiz13) back in Nov 2010. I'm personally very proud of this, not only because I clocked over 3.100 miles myself, but also because I'd like to think that we somehow helped some people get closer to their dreams.
One of these days i'll add a hall of fame sheet as a tribute to the people who helped keep this thread going, just want to make sure that I'm not forgetting anyone0 -

We've accumulated 8,500 miles in August.. After 22 months and the contribution of 1,637 people, we can break the 100,000 mile mark if we tally another 900 miles or so .:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
The longevity, the popularity and the success of this challenge is way beyond my wildest expectations since we first started it with denise (bluiz13) back in Nov 2010. I'm personally very proud of this, not only because I clocked over 3.100 miles myself, but also because I'd like to think that we somehow helped some people get closer to their dreams.

@Dinos: You already know how much I love this challenge, and you and Denise are the reason why this challenge is having so much success! And the people that takes part in it, are pure awesomeness (I'm NOT talking about me of course :laugh: ), so I think all the ingredients are there for this challenge to continue to grow, if that's even possible! If that's the case, it will soon be a part time job for you guys! :ohwell: But seriously, if it wasn't for this challenge, I probably wouldn't be here anymore. This is what keeps me going, one of the greatest motivator I have, so yes, you DO help people get closer to their dreams. And for that, to you and Denise:

Only 2 miles left... And I could have gotten that in this morning :grumble: but I was already pushing myself to just get up and do my C25K workout. Didn't realize that 2 hours of overtime a day could get you that tired so fast :noway:. But the month is not over yet and I have plenty of time to make up my 2 miles and then some.
Also want to say thank you to Dinos and Bluiz for getting this challenge going and for keeping it going. It has been a huge motivation for me to keep at working out. :flowerforyou:

I obviously didn't get any time in on Sunday or Monday. I don't know if I'm going to make my goal this month, mostly because of my mini-vacation and a few days of being overtired... but I'll be close, and I intend to set the bar a little higher for September. And if I can, I'll try to run more than four miles for each of the next two days. Maybe I'll make it after all--you never know.

I'd also like to thank Dinos and Denise for this challenge, as it got me moving again after five years of inactivity resulting from ankle injuries, and I've now racked up over 500 miles ins 6 months. You guys should be very proud of what you have helped others to achieve over the last 22 months!
One of the really neat aspects of this challenge is that it is wide-open to everyone, regardless of their ability and level of fitness.0 -
