Ok, I did the math.. I need 94 miles to hit my original goal of 140 miles this month so I have to run 6.25 at least every day without a break to make it.

Also I set a new goal to go along with my Christmas lose 30 group... Im gonna run 500 miles from today until Christmas day which is 36 miles average x 14 weeks.. Here we go.

Ran my University's Alumni 5k for Homecoming. Started out a little too fast but fought to finish strong on the random incline course. Finished in 31:25! :) My time was two minutes quicker than this same race last year. Granted my knee felt like it was going to snap, but that's ok.

congrats on a course PR!!! hope your knee will get better too !

Did a 5k race today. New PR of 23:54, little over three minutes faster than my old PR, and nearly 8 minutes faster than I ran the same race last year. Pretty pleased. 3.1 today, 58.6 MTD.

YAY for getting into the 23s!! that is something that I am waiting for!!! And WOW on beating it by 8 min, (your old time was not too bad either  ).

    Tried two runs this week - 1 x 1 mile, 1 x 2 miles - so a total of just 3 this month. :-(

don't worry.. it will take time some to get recover :flowerforyou: but now you are running at least and that is great!!

Recovery week was lighter than I expected... my right foot was sore all week and really didn't feel better until yesterday.

    Week 1: 7.1 miles
    Week 2: 22.2 miles

    Week 3:

    9/11: 3.1 miles
    9/13: 4.2 miles
    9/15: 4.2 miles

    Week 3 Total: 11.5
Month to Date Total: 40.8 miles

The lighter recovery week cut about 6 miles off of this week's plan, and I'm also ramping up my cross training.

At this point, based on the training plan for the next two weeks, it looks like I'm only going to get to about 80 miles instead of the 93 I planned. I had thought I could throw in one more 10K-ish run and with rounding up, I'd just about make the 93 miles, but I can't see squeezing in either an extra 10+ mile run or multiple 6 mile runs to get there.

I'm not totally giving up on the goal for this month, but I don't want to overdo it and injure myself either.

    Ted

Ted, let me know if you want me to change it - it is good to be careful and listen to your body.

5 miles for me today - my total is now 46 for the month.

I had to skip a longer race that I had been eyeing for this weekend/Sunday, a 15K, a distance that I  because my heel was a sore from the 5K that I did on Saturday with my son and hubby. I am happy with my 5K time which was not too shabby considering this is the first month I am street running regularly after being in an aircast for 5 weeks. (: but I did cross train and I think that helped to maintain fitness. I finished at 25:54 about 1 1/2 minute slower than my old usual 5K time before my stress fracture. Felt GREAT! a big uphill at the end that was a killer and wittered me down a bit - but I then finished strong. MY hubby placed 3rd in his age group for the first time (at middle age). He was super excited.
