    12 Chicken Thighs
    3 Tablespoons of Garlic Powder
    Salt & Pepper
2 Cups of your favorite BBQ sauce

I always remove the skin from the chicken. One, it saves calories and two, it get soft and soggy. No bueno.

    Ghoulash (1 cup serving sizes)

    Ingredients:

Great Value - Sliced Stewed Tomatoes, 2 container

Heinz - Reduced Sugar Tomato Ketchup 0.5 container

Ragu - Elbow Macaroni, 2 cup dry = 1 cup cooked

Lean Ground Beef 93/7, 1 container (16 oz ea.)

How long do you simmer it for, my hubby would love this

Boil the elbow macaroni according to package directions. While the macaroni is boiling start brown the ground beef. Drain the beef and macaroni. (This can even be done the night before and put in a container in the fridge) Then all you have to do is dump in the crockpot in the morning.

Next add, reduced sugar ketchup and stewed tomatoes and whatever other spices you like. I also add black pepper and onions or onion powder. Stir well.

Simmer on low for a few hours. be careful not to cook it too long or the macaroni can get soggy.

    Makes 8 - 1 cup servings

    each serving has:

    219 calories
    28 carbs
    9 g fat
    3g fiber
    13g protein
    7g sugar

I'm not a big crock pot person but when I use my slow cooker, it's mainly with beef or pork and then when I come home, I just add the vegetables. Sometimes I go on allrecipes.com when I'm looking for a recipes, they have some good ones. With the weather getting cooler, I may have to do more slow cooking recipes.

    Crock pot Breakfast Casserole

    Makes 10-12 servings

1 (2 pound) package frozen shredded hash brown potatoes
    1 pound diced cooked ham
    1 onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
    12 eggs
    1 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste ( I used 1/2 tablespoon of seasoning salt and pepper)
    Directions
1.Lightly grease a 4 quart or larger slow cooker. Place 1/3 of the hash brown potatoes in a layer on the bottom. Layer 1/3 of the ham, onion, green pepper, and Cheddar cheese. Repeat layers two more times. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and milk, and season with salt and pepper. Pour over the contents of the slow cooker.

Just got one today - however it is not dietetic...

    4 boneless chicken breasts
1 box of stuffing (i.e., Stove Top)
1 can cream of chicken soup
    1/2 C sour cream

Put chicken in bottom of crock pot, pour box of stuffing over chicken (no need to prepare the stuffing just dump the contents in as is). Mix the cream of chicken soup and the sour cream then pour over the stuffing & chicken. Cook on low for 4 hours.

  • I like to purchase a Jennie-O oven ready turkey breast. ( I get mine from the frozen section in Wal*Mart) There is so much you can do with it for yourself and your spouse. (my spouse has no weight problems and he likes his potatoes & bread). I put the already ready breast in the crock pot. It comes with a gravy on the side. When I return home, I heat the gravy and make some potatoes for hubby. Usually have a salad and/or green beans for us. Then take what is left and store for later making turkey sandwiches and/or turkey salad. This is quick, hearty and more uses for left overs whether low carbing or using as a snack or meal or two. And the flavor is great!
