Horrendous. If it wasn't for the subject matter, I would expect to find it in the Teen section. I gave it to a friend after Chapter 2.
And, finally, the vast number of women who think it's romantic and are "in love" with Christian Grey, who's an abusive nightmare that no one would really want to date if she met him. He's awful and exhausting in his controlling neediness.

    Nailed it.

Hated them. Seriously ****ed up story, and I'm sad that so many people think this is prince charming...

My real sex life is more interesting. I could have liked it more if it was written better maybe, but it was pretty much an R rated book that seemed like it was written by a teenager.. Luckily I borrowed from a friend instead of paying for it.
  • Hated the series. Terrible books.

Let me put it this way; it started as Twilight fanfiction. Still not enough reason? The male lead is awful and just as controlling and stalkerish as Edward Cullen. The female lead is just as boring and nondescript as Bella Swan.

  • I read all three of that trashy hotness ;)
  • I work with a lot of people that have read it, and they discussed it in depth. I hate the trilogy and haven't even read any of it. Heh. For a bit of 50 shades fun, have a read of this - it was sent to me by a friend. Lol!

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY -a husbands view
    The missus bought a paperback
    .... down Shepton , Saturday.
I had a look inside her bag
    T'was fifty shades of Grey.

Well I just left her to it
and at ten I went to bed
    an hour later she appeared,
the sight filled me with dread.

In her left hand she held a rope
and in her right a whip!
She threw them down upon the floor
    and then began to strip.

well fifty years or so ago
I might of had a peek,
but Mabel has not weathered well
and she's eighty four next week !!

    Watching Mabel bump and grind
could not have been much grimmer,
and things then went from bad to worse
when she toppled off her Zimmer !

She struggled back upon her feet
    a couple minutes later
she put her teeth back in and said ,
    " I AM THE DOMINATOR "!!!

Now if you knew our Mabel
you'd see just why I spluttered,
I'd spent two weeks in traction
for the last complaint I uttered.

She stood there nude and naked
    bent forward just a bit,
I went to hold her sensual like
and stood on her left tit!

Mabel screamed ,her teeth shot out
my god what had I done?
She moaned and groaned then shouted out,
"STEP ON THE OTHER ONE "

Well readers , I can't tell you more
    of what occurred that day.
Suffice to say my jet black hair
turned fifty shades of grey !!!

To begin with I thought it was terrible, then I got into the story, its quite a reasonable storyline, apart form the shockingly bad grammar, repetitiveness and terrible innuendos, I read all three because despite all of these annoyances, I wanted to find out what happens in the end!

As for the "sexual" side of things, didn't rock my boat I'm afraid!

Well I thought there was. Anyway, everyone has their own opinion of it, you might not have liked it but others did, I'm kind of neutral on the matter, I wanted to find out what happened but it was painful getting there will all the terrible "love" scenes. Other people think its wonderful, everyone has entitlement to their opinion and everyone will see things differently :)

My wife read these books. Best two weeks of my life......

Wow a man who finally enjoys the books without even reading them. LOL I'm not into all that BDSM stuff, but I found the books entertaining.

I don't like it because people think that's hardcore BDSM and it's not. It's like intro to BDSM kiddie course.

i read all three books thinking they would keep getting better with each one. but it was the exact opposite. the first book was the best, 2nd was boring and the 3rd was a disappointment. after all the good things i heard about it, maybe i was expecting too much. but it seemed like alot of stuff was repeated over and over.

Hate it! I only read half the first book. It annoyed me. I didn't like so many traits about both characters and the girl just got on my nerves.

Pretty sure it was meant for a Young Adult audiance based on the writing. For all those women out there that think Christian Grey is a great guy and are "madly in love with him" need to get their heads examined if that's the type of man you like. Please let my husband call me stupid and control my every move and I would enjoy wondering if I made him mad all the time and tip toe around his anger. That would be a lot better than the always sweet, loving, has me on a pedistal and I can do no wrong husband I have. I read the books out of pure curiosity to see if the main character actually got smart. Caught myself more than once physically rolling my eyes.
