Movies that scarred you for life! (Most Disturbing Film)

It was nicely done. Check out "The Woman" also, -it think thats the name, it's onNetflix
I've seen it.. i actually felt angry about that one.. i'm not really a feminist but i felt like it was a very demeaning movie for women..
Yea, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Was it feminist? Was it just thinly velied tourture porn? Idk, but I like that it made me have a response. So much horror I watch and I'm just like "meh"
it depends on the context weather i[m like meh or not.. if there is hidden meaning, i tend to find it.. i don't know if it was just me or not but, i found a distinct lack of feminine power. the man teaching his son his views on women.. the wife's position in the family.. the fact that the woman in the movie is practically a caveman.. it has so many anti feminist undertones.. not even undertones.. just blatant woman bashing! as i said.. i'm not a feminist.. but still a woman and i was pretty effected.
Dunno, I tend to agree with you, but I know some people who, because of the ending, view it as a 'female power" type tale. Again, I like the fact that I saw it a few month's ago, and I'm still talking about it. Good or bad it provoked a reaction so IMO I would recomoned it to others (well a certain type of others -deff. not for everyone!)
yeah, i'm of the opinion that just because you kill the bad guy in the end, it doesn't mean you didn't put the negative ideas out there.. it was a controversial film and got very mixed reviews. I guess it just rubbed me the wrong way.. but It got a reaction out of me.. which is something! Most movies i watch don't do that.. so it was definitely good in that respect.0 -
"The Hills Have Eyes"...Couldn't finish watching the movie because it was that disturbing to me.0

Salo, Serbian Film, Cannibal Halocaust
There it is! Salo! i knew it'd come up somewhere.. another i am avoiding because i know i'll want to unsee it.. lol.. and that forbidden movie a serbian film! this person knows their disturbing films!!
Salo, let's just say.....I legit almost threw up several times....Oh, I forgot another!!! It's like, oh, I don't know, arthouse crap "Vace De Noces" hahah, look that one up...Quality family movies.0 -
Carrie - my cousin and me told our Grandmother it was ok to take us to MA movie the end scared the **** out of me and i can still see that last scene to this day and shudder0
-
Rosemary's Baby :0(0

Trilogy of Terror when I was a kid. But Audition (1999) Japanese Horror freaked me out. Pretty messed up movie. Love the Japanese Horror Movies!!
i'm hearing this one a lot (audition) and for good reason.. a vomit eating pet man with no arms and legs can stay with you for awhile!!0 -
E. Elias Merhige''s film, Begotten. To this day I wonder what I watched.0

vace de noces.... i'm shocked i've never heard of this... so far i've been able to recall just about all these movies.. i have to check on this one!0 -
For me it was Lord of the Flies. I'll never forget hearing Simon screaming as the kids were stabbing him to death and the solemn choir boy music that played as he floated out to sea and sunk. I was in high school, and I had to come home after seeing that. My dad didn't understand, which just made it worse.0

Salo, Serbian Film, Cannibal Halocaust
Oh! From the reactions on this thread I am now adding these to my que!
careful.. if i were you, i'd check out the reviews on imdb.. just in case.. a serbin film isn't just a horror movie.. it haunts people.. it's a pretty horrifying thing to put yourself through.. it's what i did.. and i'm glad i did..
Well....for Cannibal Halocaust, the director was hauled into court, bc he was accused of making a snuff flim, and there is ACTUAL real animal torture/death.
Salo....well, I don't even know how to describe that, it's effed up, and just makes you go "Da *kitten*????"
And Serbian Film, it's torture porn and the ending, oh LAWD the ending!0 -
E. Elias Merhige''s film, Begotten. To this day I wonder what I watched.
this one has been on my list for a long time.. i have a hard time working myself up to super sacrilegious movies.. with a lot of movies, i wait until i get enough feedback and see if it'll scar me.. then if i think i can do it, i do it.. lol0 -
I was way too young when I watched Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm St, Child's Play and IT. But these movies do not bother me now.
However, if you have not seen I Spit on Your Grave, I would not recommend it. It is very graphic in showing what is done to this college girl...the rest I could handle.
The movie David didn't scare as much as it disturbed me. It's the one about the father who burns his son to get back at the mother. I did wonder at times if my ex would ever do that....0 -
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the prologue one. I hate the sound of chainsaws and it is exceptionally gory. I cannot sit through gore at all. The worst part was, I was on a date to see that movie and my date wouldn't even hold my hand. He just watched the whole movie with the stoniest face. :noway:0

a serbian film can't be just summed up to torture porn.. there is a specific scene with a Pregnant woman and her child.... well.. that makes it something all in it's own category.. and i can't imagine watching something like that..0 -
The first Nightmare on Elm Street. I haven't been able to watch Horror movies since!0
-
@kimcalica- i don't know if it will scar you, but if your experience is like mine you'll wonder, "What the hell?!" I mean it's provoking, shocking, disturbing at some points, yet there is something powerful, beautiful and haunting about it. Just what that is.. I am still trying to figure out.0
-
Human Centipede.
KILLER CLOWNS FROM OUTTER SPACE
TREMORS
Arachnophobia ( I H8 SPIDERS)0 -
deliverance..it was filmed like 8 miles from where i currently live :indifferent:0
-
The Ring. I was home alone when I watched it. Don't know why I didn't turn it off!0
-
Psycho!!!! I saw this whn I was young and still can't take a shower in a rustic cabin/hotel setting without shaking in terror!0

that's how i felt about antichrist and nekromantic.. shockingly enough.. i was able to analyze them and come up with relevance. i may have been way off but hell, what are art films for but to create our own ideas about what they are and boast about how we "get it" lmao0 -

oh but i'm not ashamed to say i did NOT get Eraserhead... sorry David Lynch fans.. i think he's just a loony!0 -
Funny Games.
There is just something about it that terrifies me.
Probably because it's not far fetched, at all. Probably happens more often than I'd like to think about.
Even just seeing the poster/Dvd cover gives me nightmares.
This. That movie completely disturbed me. Also, any movie that has violent, unconsenting sex against a woman. The Last House on the Left disturbs me.0 -
The Exorcist.0

Jesus. Just wikied "A Serbian Film" and read a quick synopsis. Yea, not sure if I'm going there. No wonder it's not on Netfilx! Was not the serbian film I was thinking of. May still watch at some point though ..it's like a train wreak, I might not be able to turn away0 -
Requiem for a Dream
YES! Every time I finish watching it I always feel like .....W...T...F... Cool I'm depressed now. :laugh:0 -
Yes, Exorcist also for me! I actually was a Catholic Jesuit Priest candidate back when I was 19 but exorcisms wasn't in my future.0
-
For me there were two:
The Hand that Rocks the Cradle-i have asthma and when the mum died as a result of an asthma attack well that was it!!!
The Fly-when he vomited on his food and transformed into a fly-revolting.
Have not watched any type of film remotely like Horror etc anymore!! No thanks!0 -
The Hills Have Eyes. I HATE that friggin movie. I cant even watch the 1st 20min of it, its disgusting....and im not so eaitly disgusted, but when u have a bunch of deformed freaks terrorizing a stranded family in the freakin dessert, middle of no where being raped, baby stealing, cross burning, killing etc..it was just too much for me.
also, my brother forced me to watch Friday the13th when he was baby sitting me...i was 7 i think. afterwards he told me that jason was chained to the bottom of our lake out at camp. i still get scared of whats under me when im out past my head! EEEK!0 -

i loved lord of the flies though... really touches on some real issues with society and the way people think.. they just make it so simple using young boys..0
