I hope to be a success story one day...I just recently started with weights again, I fell out of shape after an injury & all my hard work was undone :(

You can see my general progression in my profile pictures.

I am only 5 lbs lighter than when I started MFP now yet look at the photo in the pink sports bra vs. earlier photos. Definitely a difference due to change in body composition.

I have my progress on my instagram -@liivefortoday

I will tell you, even with the machines at the gym, I saw progress.

this was before I started at the gym. Notice the back rolls.

and here is kind of a before and after...the left is 3 years ago, before I hit my all time high of 228lbs. I was 188-199lbs. The picture on the right is less than 2 months ago--I was 195lbs.

    Calves: 16.5”
    Body fat: 39%

    January 2013:

    Neck: 13.5” (-2)
    Chest: 37” (-9)
    Shoulders: 45”(-5)
    Waist: 40” (-10)

I don't have pictures right now, BUT I was very successful with Jamie Eason's LiveFit program.
The whole 12 week trainer plus nutrition guide can be found here. It's free! Good luck!

I lost most of my weight with cardio (did use some light dumbbells and a little Pilates over the years as well) and started lifting heavy last April. Injured myself in August and just started back last week.

I don't have pics, but I've stayed pretty close to the same weight but have lost 3% body fat since starting heavy lifting. And my knees hurt less and I can see a real difference in my arms and legs. The flabby flap under my arm is much much tighter!

This is me..before dec 2011 weight about 210... after jan 2013 weight 206..

I did gain 30lbs in between that time and just about lost it all now.. this is between lifting as much as I can and Zumba.

I will post pics later but I've had a lot of success weight lifting. I started with NROL4W and ended that back in November of last year. I loved it. Now I am doing Cathe's STS program which is kicking my butt but delivering awesome rewards. I hit 50 lbs lost today so am planning on taking another pic to post a before and during which will better show results. Good luck!

Before, then at a little below my goal weight, after a year of lifting with machines, and after switching to free weights.
