What are your deal breakers for dating?

For me:

1) Career - if you don't have one, not interested.
2) Entitled - if you're looking for nothing more than someone to take care of you, not interested.
3) Selfish
4) Party girl
5) Lack of Intelligence

Beyond that is comes down to chemistry. Interested to hear yours.

    Hobbies. I'm active. I love to Ski and love outdoor hockey. Need someone that can keep up.

    at first i could look past these issues...but now they are total deal breakers for me:

    1. no job. i work hard, but not hard enough to support your broke *kitten*
    2. no car. thats self explanatory
    3. Drinks way too much. a drink here or there is fine...a 12 pack in one sitting...not my cup of tea
    4. no ambition. goes along with #1.

    nothing was a "deal breaker" for me. why eliminate someone based solely on a trait, or situation?


    if the chemistry was great, then i think was more likely to overlook things that would normally annoy me.

    ETA: major things like murderer, thief, etc. are obviously "deal breakers" I meant I was less discerning when i was dating

    I think mine are pretty standard. But there was a time I let a lot of these slide.. no more!

    1. Ambition / Goals... I need someone who is going somewhere in life not just sitting around watching it go by

    2. Ability to support yourself... This may be as simple as a job! I can support myself, I don't need to support you too (should be a mutal thing

    3. Warmth / Compassion... I need someone who is not afraid to show they care.

    4. Respect... Respect me and treat me right, Don't expect me to be sitting around waiting for you at your beck and call. I will return the favor

    5. Takes Care of Youself... This could mean a lot of things but basically I don't want a slob who eats crap and sits around all day long doing nothing.

    My deal breakers:

    No career.
    Financially irresponsible.
    Drugs of any kind.
    Wants to hang out in bars.
    At this point in my life I dont want anyone divorced or with children. In 15 yrs I wouldnt care.

    Definitely have some: (I think most people have deal breakers... of course there are always exceptions to the dealbreaker)

    1. No job
    2. Horrible money spending habits (if you decide to marry the person it will in the end affect you)
    3. Bad kisser
    4. If a man has children and isn't an involved father
    5. Lacks ambition

    And strangely... a workaholic or someone that only thinks about money (balance is important)
