I actually don't like to think of myself as a nerd. But my daughter posted some "funny" on her FB page the other day where a mother was holding a baby muttering somthing about teaching the baby the ways of the force, about muggles and the one ring and it said "When you realize your mother is a nerd". :embarassed:

So I made her a Data costume for Halloween when she was 5. It was just one silly costume! It was adorable.

    - I work for a video game-focused charity organization.
    - I am a long-time roleplayer.
    - I am a long-time M:tG player.
    - I write science fiction novels for fun.
    - My ring-tone is the "ping" from SC2.
    - I repeatedly beat my boyfriend in video games.
    - I participate in humans vs. zombies at least once a year.
    - My favorite books, movies and television shows are what most would consider "nerdy." (Dark Tower Series/Enders Game/Halo, 1408, Firefly)
    - I am currently watching Face Off.

    And probably the biggest one:

    - I am a ghost hunter, and I have investigated with Ghost Hunter's TAPS.

I may, or may not have shaved my head to make sure I could pull this off...

Good god man... I am not sure how I should feel about the fact that I am suddenly attracted to you simply for your dressing up and pulling it off... <3<3<3

Ok....I'm a geologist, love reading sci-fi and fantasy....

Cats' names are/were: Rhell, Drizzit, Galena, Topaz, Mercury

Still watch cartoons, go see any animated/super hero/star trek/fantasy movie out there (I refuse to state that the SW episodes 1 - 3 even exist) we regularly do movie marathons for Star Wars, Star Trek, LotR (we even have the hobbit movie and soundtrack!)

I play video games, have even written some fan-fic, and done some fan-art doodles. (pretty much only discussion I have had with my husband over the past year has revolved around the ending to ME3 and is Bioware a company to blindly trust any longer when buying a game?) Video game music is in my Google Play list rotation.

Favorite TV show is Futurama (own all the DVDs, magnets other odds and ends, the monopoly game, my ringtone when my old job called me was bender saying 'Bite my Shiny Metal @ss', my general ringtone is the Futurama Theme song......my handle on mobile games is TurangaLeela.)

Read books.....as many as I can get my hands on......also love comic books.....have a nice little collection. I follow authors or artists and not the series. (excpet for Lobo....love me some Lobo)

And I'm turning my 5 yr old into a great little nerd. He plays the Lego games, owns many Lego sets, lighsabers, went for his first halloween as an X-wing fighter pilot, his 3rd Halloween as a NASA astronaut, and yesterday stated that "The reason the Rancor likes eating the little piggie guys is because they smell like sweet sweet bacon"

I'm a video game developer. I'm expert level at nerdy.

My devices are named things like HAL, and Bishop.

I make beer, and will spend this summer, if time works out, trying to crossbreed two different strains of yeast for brewing use.

When I do normal stuff like curing meats, I go overboard and research the hell out of it to find the most archaic, artisinal method to do it, so I can geek out on the information available, or lack of information, which allows me to experiment in a semi-controlled uncontrolled manner.

I don't really play video games anymore though. Go figure. ;)

ETA - oh and i'm drawing up plans for the creation of a long range quad rotor copter with long range capability and a packet sender that will give me a real time feed from the two mounted cameras, one regular, one IR. I'll be using it out in the mountains to scout locations for this fall's deer hunt, if I can get it done in time.

Dude those are awesome hobbies!!! A do it yourself man!!! love it!

I fix my cars myself..............I have NEVER taken any of my cars for a brake job. I once took a car apart just for kicks in summer. browke it down all the way to the block and put it back together. using a CHILTONS!!!!

I also brew beer.....But I kinda suck at it

I have gotten started watching Continuum this season and am liking it. I'll watch and/or read pretty much any science fiction since I took a sci-fi class in college. Favorite authors would be Philip K Dick, Dean Koontz, Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Arthur C. Clarke. There's a distinct shortage of sci-fi shows right now but I do like Warehouse 13.
