    Fitness! The ability to run like you've never run before, the ability to do things you never thought you could. Waking up in a strong healthy body! Pride in the marvelous machine that you were given, and fine tuning it to be the most badass vehicle it can be! Conquering obstacles and proving them wrong. The end IS the means!

    A fight

    When I get to my major goal of losing 50% of my body weight (245 lbs) I am going to start working out at a local MMA gym to train for a MMA fight.

    I agree with you all, even the folks that have taken the superiority route (ie, better health is its greatest rewards). You guys are all awesome and good luck achieving your goals and (for those of you who plan to) treating yourself to something when you get there.

    I follow the mini reward route.

    150= 12 lbs lost Peicure only two more lbs until this!
    140=22 lb lost Tan Heels
    130=32 lb Vacation

    Now mind you I am going on vacation to Jamaica in June of 2014 regardless but it sure would be nice to go and have reached my first real goal weight. I will probably add new mini goals as a go along that coincide with sizes obtained. Right now I am at a size ten so I know I will celebrate with a new outfit when I reach single didget size!

    Little things along the way...

    Heart Rate Monitor Watch
    New Running Shoes
    New clothes when they become necessary (due to the inability for current pants to stay up)
    That kind of stuff...

    I don't really have some "reward" planned for some "ultimate goal". I'd think being healthy & fit would be reward enough.

    My first tattoo!!!

    I have about 5-8lbs to go so I hope to lose it and keep it off till the end of summer. Then I don't have to keep it covered up, out of water, etc while it heals.

    Can't wait!

    i agree! feeling good is your best reward. not feeling out of breath when climbing steps or any exercise. feeling like a kid again in terms of energy and feeling in control of my body. and of course looking great with new cloths to wear that actually fit perfect :and so i plan to reward myself with new cloths and a vacation. ::happy:

    I had list of things I wanted reward myself with - and I have given myself some of them...but I have discovered that the biggest reward has been my improved sense of self and comfort in my own skin. I feel like I can do anything!

    I'm going to donate a huge amount of "too big" clothes and spend some quality time setting new goals. I didn't sign up for a destination... I signed up for an evolution...

    If I can get to my goal weight by August I might get a tattoo or something... But the real reward will be having the body I have dreamed of and worked hard for.

    This...

    My reward is being able to physically qualify to serve in the Military. Im only 30lbs away from goal!! Exciting! I am also entertaining the idea of getting tatt'd again as a secondary treat if I reach my UGW =)

    Just a heads up for you, Sis. I dropped 52 pounds to join the Navy in 1964. That's right; I was a Vietnam era veteran, though I never got to go overseas. My first day in boot camp, I was put on the 'pudgy platoon'. I weighed only 134 pounds, but they said I was overweight. This was me in 1965 on a military flight to the west coast.

    The only girl on a plane full of military guys got a lot of attention. :wink:

    ******

    As for the question of rewards, I have a couple of them.

    At 200 pounds, I go on the waiting list for double knee replacement surgeries. Believe it or not...that is a big reward, because I will be mobile again. No more wheelchair or walker for me.

    Once I am healed from my surgeries, I want to get a Grannie tricycle...you know...the one 3 big wheels and a basket in the back. I want to be able to go bike riding with my hubbie and our little dog. I never owned a bike in my life; and at 68 years old, I believe that I will be better off on a 3 wheeler. I wouldn't want to fall off bicycle and break a hip. That would put me right back in my wheelchair. :laugh:

    Once I make it to Onederland, I will set another goal weight (probably 170 or 175). Then, I can plan for my next reward.
