Do you have a link to a specific recipe or could you update with quantities. I'm horrible and winging in the kitchen!0 -
In b4 90% of IIFYM dieters suffer dietary related illnesses from not paying attention to actual macros, micros, and cholesterol. LOL

How did you people who eat so perfectly all the time end up here in the first place? Just wondering.
Through eating the way OP promotes. Do you realize that 100 calories extra (not even a half-cup of ice cream) over what your body requires (and my body happens to use calories very efficiently apparently) over the course of 10 years is a 100-pound gain. And dieting only exacerbates the problem. So we cleaned up our act and got serious about making healthy changes. And here we are---loving our healthy new way of achieving our goals.
You forgot to add: "loving our healthy new way of achieving our goals... while trying to prove to others that I am better than them by nagging in a thread specifically titled Eating pizza, pop tarts, and ice cream while losing weight...SMILEY FACE."
Not at all, dear. I do NOT consider myself superior in any way. If you got that out of my posts, it was likely your inference. It is not nagging to suggest that what the OP advocates will not necessarily work for everyone. Sorry that my posts seem to have made you angry, but there was really nothing in them that should have done so. When you are around here a bit longer, perhaps you will see that this is an old ongoing discussion that apparently has no end in sight. If they are happy with what they are doing---more power to them. I am merely pointing out that it simply will not work for some people and that those who are watching and not participating would be wise to tread cautiously on their advice as they should tread cautiously on all advice from every source.
Sweetie, darling, I have just bolded one of your statements. :flowerforyou:
The reason being, dearie, that this clearly shows you feel superior to others who lose weight whilst incorporating treats.
If we turn this statment around, lovie, what you're saying is you believe we are not serious about weight loss and improving our health because we eat foods you disapprove of. :flowerforyou:
I find it strange dear, that you are able to contradict yourself so regularly, but with the amount of posts you have clogged up this thread with it must be difficult to keep up with what you have previously said.
Live and let live, sweetie. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Ah--thanks for all the I have not contradicted anything I have said. I really don't care whether anyone here eats junk food or not, but I do feel an obligation to warn that what may work for someone who maintains on 3,200 calories a day might not work for someone with a much smaller allowance. Perhaps you should go for some ice cream and Pop-Tarts?
If you care so little what other people do dear, I wonder why you have made more than 28 posts in this thread (that's more than one page or about 7% of the total contribution so far)?
Oh, I don't know, I'm bored and looking for some entertainment? But thanks for counting them.
Trolling then, sweetie. Glad you admitted to it. :flowerforyou:0 -
Love it! I totally agree!0

I have to admit that I have never been a big fan of pop tarts.
That being said, all my MFP friends who read my diary know that I lost a lot of weight last fall and achieved my ideal weight while consuming tons of pizza and ice cream.
My cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure numbers are all perfect.
I am getting stronger and faster every month.0 -

There needs to be a restaurant buffet out there where EVERY dish contains bacon. I'd move for that.
Me too0 -

Since when does participating in the forums amount to trolling? Because you disagree with the posts? :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
I've never understood why pizza and ice cream get a bad rap in the first place. Is it because people think fat make them fat? Or is just because people think anything that tastes good must be bad for them?0

I think it would be doughnuts for me and that's why I don't eat them. I was fat as a youngster.0 -
The OP. (Not that I don't do the same)

Nah. it's because if you are eating pizza and ice cream and you are overweight but losing despite this, clearly you just aren't suffering enough.0 -

If there wasn't a visible box of pop tarts on that table I might have taken offense.

i think you aren't far off. i think for some people who get obsessed with restricting their diet (clean/paleo/primal) or following a fad like low carb without a medical reason, the "suffering" they endure by avoiding the foods they love is a sort of penance they are doing for getting fat in the first place. there's clearly a weird mental illness dynamic at work with these people, although it may not always rise to the level of a clinical illness, but nevertheless there seem to be some funky thought processes involved and this seems to be the best explanation i can find for it so far. the weird pride they take in being able to avoid such foods backs up this hypothesis.0 -
I'll bet a clean eater killed Krinkles the clown!

Straw man syndrome. It's easier to blame something external than look at your own inability to use moderation.0 -

Well, you said:Oh, I don't know, I'm bored and looking for some entertainment?
And a troll is:
In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion
In summary: you came in here and took up 7% of the space with your dumb argumentative and condescending posts. That, dear, is trolling :flowerforyou:0 -

That's a valid point too.
I tend to lose self control when it comes to potato chips. So I hardly ever eat them now. I don't run around screaming from the rooftops about how they'll give you cancer though. I accepted a long time ago that my faults are my own, so there's that too.0 -

In my opinion, it's am eating disorder.
Next, it will show up in the DSM-VI.   But then, childhood tantrums is considered a disorder in DSM-V. Gotta love the wannabe shrinks among us. From one shrink (I actually have a degree) to another wannabe shrink--this is total BS to apply this to people who have an honest concern about losing weight healthfully. Or is this not what this site is about?0 -
