Paula Deen's accent makes me giggle

Her voice and accent are like nails on a chalkboard to me. Ugh, she gives Georgia a bad name.

To be fair...Georgia gives Georgia a bad name. lol.

When I first moved to backwoods Virginia from Kansas everyone thought I was a stuck up snob when in reality I couldn't understand a word they were saying. "A! Owr yoo aday?" I totally rock at the game Mad Gab now though!

Girls with a Scottish or Irish accent, really got into the Californian accent lately too

Can't stand the Welsh or Birmingham accent

Would like to realize what the 'California accent' actually is. Unless it's that 'surfer' accent?

Sadly, New Jersey (not all) and Brooklyn accents are not very appealing to me (no offense guys).

Paula Deen's accent makes me giggle

I'm Texan and one of my family's favorite pastimes is making fun of her accent. She HAS to be exaggerating it on purpose. Has to be. The way she says "oil" like "AWL" kills me! Granted, I'm from north Texas, so I don't have an especially thick southern accent. But still...

None. I seriously can not listen to people with accents, especially really strong ones. It just annoys me :ohwell:

This means you can't listen to anyone, because everyone has an accent of some kind....you can't speak without an accent

I love all types of accents. Strong thick accents of any type.

That being said, if English is an individual's first language and verb tenses are used incorrectly, I am automatically turned off.

Quite like a russian accent as well strangely enough...

Scouse (people from liverpool)= makes me feel physically ill to listen to it
Birmingham accents= awful to listen to
Not going to lie, not a fan of south USA accents (texas etc.), reminds me too much of rednecks on the TV

Scottish, Irish, British (Proper, from London), Australian (Southies, from the Coast, please!), South African and Spanish. Knee-melting!!

I can't stand the looong Texan Draawwl....Some Texans sound sexy when they talk and others just sound like idiots, even with Ph.D's. Oh, and whatever Paula Deen's accent is. It's like nails on chalkboard listening to her. The wacky Central Australian accents get a little grating as well.
  • Love a strong Irish accent :)

Eastern European, some English/Welsh/Scottish/Irish, Southern US, Lebanese...

Well I guess I'm weird because I like German, French, Italian, and basically any Eastern European accent including Russian. Also, the usuals are great like anything from the British Isles including Welsh, Kiwis, and South Africans.

Usually can't stand accents from the east coast, Indian (I hear it all the time), and Vietnamese grates on me.

geesh, never knew there were specific "english" accents.

i have always liked english and irish accents, but am not sure as to the specific ones now lol.

southern (american) accents drive me mad.
they have since i moved here.
it's so drawn out, and most of the time faked. i get bored waiting for the person to finish their word.
my sil is guilty of the 'gotta be fake southerner cause i'm in north carolina and i wanna be in texas so i overcompensate" accent and my daughter is beginning to pick up on some of the accent. ugh. we're working on making sure she outgrows it
