Purple - Congrats on the presentation! It always feels great to knock something out of the park!
    Jess - WOOOHOOO for 209!!!
Ann - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How exciting for you. I tihnk it's so important that you're going to stay eating healthy and moving throughout your pregnancy. It will be good for you and your baby.
Julie - Glad you were "saved" those calories....hehehe.
Deb - Glad you got into spin last night. That's still a great burn.
Blue - Hooray for a great PT session. Also, hooray for you fancy phone while lets you check in during the day!

The craziness at work should die down a bit today, which is greatly appreciated. I was at work yesterday for 10 hours and I have to leave after 8.5 today so that's a huge relief to know that I have to leave! The bummer of this week is that I'm having a really hard time finding the time to exercise. After my very full days Monday and Tuesday, today I'm meeting friends after work, and tomorrow I'm going to try and see American Idiot on Broadway. An acquaintance of mine is playing one of the leads this week, so I feel like I HAVE to see it this week. Friday should be fairly calm, so I'm hoping for some exercise then. Just crazy to be so busy. And since I'm so busy during the days, I'm trying to get as much sleep as possible so I'm not waking up early to exercise. Sigh....being busy is hard.

    Checking in for yesterday:
Cals - Over by 264. I did some major nervous snacking yesterday. The snacking was not too awful - roasted almonds and three Hersey's Hugs - but that's the amount that I'm over. Ah well.
    Water - 104 oz
    Exercise - Nada
Challenge - Not met - 2 servings only
Proud - I picked up a muffin for breakfast yesterday, ate half, and threw the other half away. I knew that if I kept it on my desk I would keep eating it, so I decided I was done and tossed it. I could have gone majorly overboard, but I didn't . I also found time to portion out my breakfast cereals and make lunch for the next two days - also portioned. It's good to feel like I have a plan for food!

    Girls...I am proud to announce!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am Severly OBese!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes there are different stages of obese, i found this one chart on the gastric bypass, that has 4 levels of obese,( obese, severely obese, morbidly obese, and super obese) ...you would think morbidly obese would be the highest just cause the word "morbidly"..but anyway...

I now have hit the "severly obese" catagory...never thought i would be that happy to be severly obese...but to be better than morbidly obese i will take it.

Seriously so excited for you! Hopefully we can be bump buddies (omg, did I just say that? :noway:)!
I'm expecting TOM sometime this weekend so I guess only time will tell if it comes (I'm fully expecting it to). Dh and I would like a September/October due date so we'll really have at it in January if it doesn't happen on it's own before then. :blushing: If it happened this cycle I'd be due right at our 1st anniversary and I'm not sure how I'd feel about that (I'm selfish!).

Feeling 100% better today (what a weird bug -- sometimes I wonder if I never get very sick because of a rockin' healthy immune system ). Off to Asheville soon for Gogol Bordello and Primus. Stopping for lunch at my FAV Thai restaurant (pretty much the only reason I ever go back to my hometown ... well... sometimes I also go to visit my mom ). It's gonna be a fabulous day!

    Good morning girls!

Right off the bat I would like to confess that I did NOT go weigh in. I was running late after work and didnt get home until 5:30 (Im usually home between 330-4) and I made every EXCUSE in the book to not go, and I didnt. Truth be told the weigh in went until 7pm so I had plenty of time to go, but didnt because I suck. So with that said...thats my confession

Mstahl- It makes me so happy to see you posting!

Purple- I looooove what you are studying. As an undergrad my dream was to go into Marketing and focus on brand management- I really wanted to do like market segmenation and just research studies on different market needs and wants. I would love love love to be studying the tuff you are doing right now and especially go on those field trips and presentations, they sound AWESOME! I had signed up to start my masters and a month later found out I was pregnant. I really wouldnt have been able to focus on school work with a baby (A lot of people do, I know I couldnt have) so I finished my 2 classes and never went back.

Momma- Im sorry you are so upset about the recommendation given by his teachers. I cant imagine how upset you must have been. Even though I know you probably dont want to, lets look on the bright side...if they do diagnose him you can become more informed about what to expect out of him and thus be able to HELP him more. You said yourself that you didnt know some signs of autism, maybe you can go read up on some information and it may make you feel better. Liek someone else said there are different levels on the spectrum and by no means does this mean that Ryan is doomed in anyway. Knowledge is power, the best thing for you to do right now is not to get depresed because your son needs you. Instead go find every book on the topic and read up! Love u and your the best momma I know so dont be hard on yourself.

    Ann- OMG Congrats!!!!!! **still jealous**

Jess---- WOOOOHHOOOOOOO!!! 209, 209, 209!!!!! I am doing a happy dance for you right now.

I am at 205.2 this morning and I vow to only see it go DOWN from now on! I have spin calss tonight but Im going to try to get my c25k run in beforehand.

    Whew all caught up!!

Momma-I'm sending positive thoughts your way for you and your lil man. I know it's hard for you to put a "label" on your precious one. Hope you didn't turn to food. Were here for you! {{HUGS}} I as well as some of the other ladies have worked with autistic children. A lot of them you wouldn't even really know they were autistic because there is such a big spectrum. They are some of the most loving kids I have ever met! Keep us posted. Sending lots of love your way!

Blue-I am sooo incredibly proud of you for re scheduling your PT session!!

Purple-YAY for the presentation going well!!! I know the "pin head" feeling. I use to think my head was way too small for my body. I wanted to do a 5k on Thanksgiving. Talk about working off the calories your gonna consume in advance! Your going to do great!

Julie-Have lots of fun at your concert tonight!! Enjoy the thai food!

Deb-466 calories is still a good burn for your spin class. I'm proud you pushed through and finished the class!

Lauren-Sleep is just as important as exercise. I had one of those weeks last week where there was just so much going on fitting in exercise was rough. You will get it next week! Hope your stressful week dies down! I love that you have everything measured and ready to go for the next 2 days. I need to follow in your footsteps.

Cris-I'm so proud of you for coming and confessing! You will see that scale go down! Do you wanna compete who can get to 199 first? Would that help get ya going in the right direction again? HAHA

I talked to my sister on the way to work about wedding stuff. Getting excited!! Trying to get some more time off work so I can get my nails done...thinking about painting them brown with pink tips...think it would be pretty neat!! It's my chance to be girly! I don't have many vacation days left so I'm gonna work all week with no lunch break so I can leave early Thursday. Plus I want to spen time with my family I never get to see. :flowerforyou: Thank you all for the congrats on the 209!! I'm okay with never seeing a 21? ever again in the morning when I step on the scale! I'm so sick of seeing it! AND my 18's that have been pretty tight lately and starting to feel lose in the waist!!

We made our own tv dinners on sunday...made 15 dinners , 1/2 spaghetti with meatsauce and 1/2 meatloaf, potatoes and corn.

Guess I am having the meatloaf today...may only eat the 1/2 potatoes as that makes it more than i usally eat, but having a low cal dinner so it may all even it out.

Momma: I'm happy to hear that Ryan's behavioral issues have gotten under control. As someone who works with children on the Autism spectrum all the time, I can tell you that of the kids I work with in therapeutic riding, they're my favorite!! It would be my guess, based on what you've said about Ryan, that he would be more likely to have an Aspberger's diagnosis than actual Autism. Aspbergers is on the Autism spectrum, but they tend to be much higher functioning, affection and extremely intelligent (even genius level). These are the kids that by looking at them, you would never know they have a "disability." They learn at a slower pace but they are better able to learn how to socialize. I work very closely with a young man who has Aspberger's and he's amazing. He's been riding with me for about six years now and he's very much a typical teenager now, with the exception that he has just a few close friends and it takes him a while to warm up to other people. The gets As and Bs in school, is on the swim team and never gets into any trouble. Please, please don't panic about having to see the Autism specialist.

Did you know they now believe that 1 of every 100 children could now be considered as being on the autism spectrum? It's also been said that the children who we once though in older generations were "eclectic", "a little different" and "shy", etc. would be diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum today. Sorry that got long, but I don't want you to see a potential Autism diagnosis as a bad thing...did you know that the most creative artists are typically on the spectrum?

Famous people who were either diagnosed on the Autism spectrum or suspected of having Autism include Daryl Hannah, Dan Aykroyd, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Einstein, Da Vinci, Beethoven, Elvis, Bill Gates and Marilyn Monroe!

Thanks Ann- We dont plan on trying again until post-wedding so Im prob looking at a 2012 baby. I just hope we dont have another winter baby as the holidays kill us with birthday parties and christmas. My fiance's bday is Nov 8, my sons Nov 13, then my stepsons Dec 20, then its Christmas. So we spend a good amount of $$$ during Nov-Dec...itd be nice to have a warm weather baby so we can do outdoor parties!

I was a member of this thread some time ago but haven't been able to get on for a while, and it may be a while before I can be really active in this thread again, but wanted to pop in and say hi. I have lost 22 pounds in the last 4 months, for me, at my age, I am very happy with it. It is very steady and I seem to have found the balance that works for me. We shall see. I have a ways to go still.

I'm in the process of looking for a new place to live (cheaper) as my salary has been cut (and maybe dabbling a bit with job search while I do that!) and so my life is a bit stressful and busy now. I would love to spend some time in the support forums and so I am vowing to myself that I will check in when I can, and spend more time at it when the dust settles. Sending good energy to everyone on the journey of weight loss! Whatever you do, keep at it. It took me a long time to find this balance and to make steady progress but one item I find indispensible is support!

Hey RoRorosie, I remember you!! Nice to see you again. Congrats on the 22 pounds!!

Hey girls thanks for the support I appreciated it. I contacted the clinic and based on my answers to her questions she thinks it would be a good idea to take it to the next step. In about 2-2.5 weeks I wll be contacted by someone who will do an interview type thing and observe Ryan and see if we need to take it to the next step which is the actual autism evaluation. I am okay with everything. I have done a ton of reading on autism because this is not the first time this as been suggested to me. I guess I just don't want anyone to expect less from Ryan. He is bright and beautiful and loving and the best little boy I ever could have asked for. He is better than I could have imagined. I just don't want anyone to ever feel like "Oh, the poor little autistic boy" because that is not who he is. I am relieved in a way though because now maybe I can get the help that he needs at school.

Heather, thanks for what you shared with me. It really made me smile. If Ryan is autistic he would be high functioning the only thing is his speech is delayed. When he talks you can understand what he says but he can't say as many words as he should be able to at his age. His speech is probably compared to a young 3 yo. If he can't think of the word or he doesn't know how to say it he just makes up a word. He calls scorpians scoodaloops. I personally think that is adorable.:blushing:

Ann, I am so excited for you!!!!! I love babies, I usually have one every 3.5-4 years so when Ryan turned 5 I thought wow I am really not going to do this again. Oh well!! Now I can get grandbabies although that is at least 10 years off since my eldest daughter would like to get a degree and become an aeronautical engineer and she is wanting to get her phd as well. Wow where did I get that kid? Any how I am so excited for you and I am praying for a healthy baby (boy/girl?)
