Practice makes perfect, I think, Halo. I am definitely very conscious of my abs while I'm doing them. It's hard not to be while my back is screaming at me. Try as I might, it still hurts :S Who knows. Just going to keep pushing (up). A few weeks and hopefully I'll see some progress in all areas.

At age 42 look forward to getting to 100 Pushups non-stop.

Set 2 = 18
Set 3 = 14
Set 4 = 14
Set 5 = 31
Total = 91 Pushups

101 total push-ups. Still crapping out half-way through my last set. After this week I think I'll start again at week two. We'll see how that treats me0

W1D2 revisited today.... 3-4-2-3-5 = 17 total push-ups, all on my toes. Felt pretty good actually. My back hurts slightly less today. Followed this with a 2.5mile run and I actually don't feel like someone's been smashing my lower back with a sledge-hammer, so that must indicate that progress is being made. The last 5 were very hard, which to me means that I am definitely pushing myself to my limits (a good thing if I want to improve).
Hope everyone else is having success today with their challenge.

Halo - Great effort. Perhaps starting back and repeating a few weeks will serve you well, to just boost up your strength, improve your endurance, and perfect your form. It can't hurt! Good luck!
Joel - That week sounds miserable! Good luck completing those sets -- I do NOT envy you! haha But I'm sure you can do it. You seem to be the resident push-up king!

Hello, W3D2 Complete with 109 pushups. On to W3D3 and man my chest is feeling the push.
Day 2 - Complete
Set 1 = 20
Set 2 = 25
Set 3 = 15
Set 4 = 15
Set 5 = 34
Total = 109
Day 3
Set 1 = 22
Set 2 = 30
Set 3 = 20
Set 4 = 20
Set 5 = ???????
Total = Pushups
We will see how Day 3 goes.
Everyone keep up the fight lets all make it to 100 together.
When I make it to 100 I will video it and post it.

Got day 3 done! Week 1. 15-12--9-9-18 Sounds impressive when you add them all up! :blushing: That 18th one was killer. I still am not where I was but really no rush. I'm looking forward to seeing a little definition in my arms. I get to rest two days and then take the exhaustion test. Glad to have the couple days rest.

Ya, W3D3 doesn't look like fun, I fealt it on those 15's nice for the 90 seconds between sets.
I haven't even thought about looking at Week 4 yet.

W1D3: All on my knees: 4+5+4+4+5 = 22!!! 5 more than D2, I can live with that sort of progress :bigsmile:
That max set is killing me, every time!
Week 1 Assessment: I got through pushing myself to do the minimum. I'm not sure whether I should start Week 1 again, or try my luck at Week 2. I have been able to meet the Week 1 goals, but just barely. I guess I'll see how I feel on Sunday...

Meredith - You could either try week 1 again, trying to increase you max push-ups in the last set, or move onto week 2 and really push yourself to finish each and every set. Whatever you think you can manage without getting discouraged. Good luck!
Joel - Your weeks looks terrifying! Don't want to know what week 4 looks like... Good luck!
I did 30 more push-ups on my knees today in my circuit training. Doing core strengthening exercises every day as well to improve my stability and hopefully help with my back. On the right track!0 -
All right, so I did what I could today, but it was all too much. I had absolutely no strength or stamina. So I just stopped and decided to start week two on Saturday, which will put me at going back three weeks ... I hope that this time through I'll do better. I just gotta lose some of this fat and I think it'll take better0

Its FRIDAY everyone! And that means the end of our second week of the challenge. Just finished W1D3 (revisited) :drinker: Woot!
Total push-ups = 25
Sets: 4-5-4-4-8 (!!!)
Wow that last set was hard, but I knew if I could push myself to 8 I'd finish the week strong. Feels good to hit that mark I guess I'll be starting W2 on Monday! Hope everyone else is feeling good about their progress. Keep up the hard work and stay motivated. It's only a few minutes a day :bigsmile:

k i had finished week 1 last time but i decided to start over wk 1 day 1 to work on my form!! (i think i did do better with it) so...10-12-7-7-11=47 total for the day GOODLUCK EVERYONE!!0

W2D2 14+16+12+12+17 = 71 total pushups (make up day- missed Wednesday) This behind Pilates w/ Cardio & Deason's relaxing Yoga, so I think I did okay with it today - although #17 of the last set was killer & I pushed to keep form!
I'll try to do W2D3 tomorrow to catch up & be back on track on Monday for Week 3. Gah, still can't believe I forgot!
P.S. Really like everyone's halloween pics! Kinda scary though! LOL0 -
Alright! Doing day 1 week 2 today. A little goof... Started off thinking I was doing an an exhaustion test an gritted through 21 standard push-ups. Went to record it and realized I had the full set to go.:noway: Makes for some kind of weird results, not to mention tired triceps! My weird results...
21 + 10 + 14 + 10 + 10 + 18 = 83
Not planning on doing that again!

Started over at Week two Day one today ... I am not impressed with how it felt, considering I dropped back after doing Week four Day three ...
Anyway, it broke down to 14 + 14 + 10 + 10 + 19 = 67
My maxes are still lacking; I just have no muscle endurance, I guess.0 -
