The Misinformation is Thick Around Here.

You are once again ignoring the diet as a whole. One can eat a varied diet that meets nutrient and fiber needs and still incorporate oils. You are glossing over this fact repeatedly in your replies.
I think many people are responding to what they think i said, not what i actually said.

Just a FYI there are no bad foods. Individual foods need to be judged by their place in a complete diet.
Just an FYI, but this is totally wrong. There are a lot of foods that are very bad.
Do tell
Tons and tons.
KKKookies.
Cancer nibbles.
Nazi Cakes.
Poison Pie.
Little kid soup.
Lots of bad foods. The sky is the limit.
I like Girl Scout cookies. Is that wrong?0 -

No, they're responding to what you actually said, i.e. the factually incorrect statements you made and your extremely arrogant tone. If that's different to what you think you said, then you need to seriously brush up your writing skills and your social skills.0 -

Ok, you didn't make a post bashing people who don't want to eat fruit for misinformed reasons, while bashing olive oil and milk for misinformed reasons? Because I am pretty sure you did.0 -
You do realize that oil and fat are the same...
We just differentiate based on the state it is in usually.
When solid it is fat
when liquid it is oil
Ahhhh...beauty AND brains0 -
are you under the mistaken impression that people drink olive oil in shot glasses, like whiskey?
because they don't. the use olive oil in the preparation of other foods, which include all of those other properties you mentioned - carbs, protein, fiber, antioxidants, etc.
you're really flailing at that pinata now...
my fat goal is about 90g per day. using olive oil in the preparation of food would certainly help me meet that goal.

also, you are aware that prepared foods often serve more than 1 person, right?0 -

I'd love to see your science. You know, fact-based studies and not just you, sitting behind a screen typing whatever pops in your head.0 -
I'm getting ready to fix a salad. Should I add a teaspoon of lard or olive oil? That is the question.0

that's not a definition at all. you can't use a word to define itself.0 -
uuum Olive oil bad??? Not where I come from .. All I use is olive oil0
-
Ha! Ironic0

What the hell are you on about. Fruit, olive oil and milk are healthy. So what the F is your point?0
-
Plain and simple, the body needs oil/fat in it to function, no way around that.
So if you get that fat/oil from milk or olive oil, so be it.
There are plenty of fats that you can eat that are not refined and concentrated.
I eat copious amounts of concentrated fats on purpose and have lost almost 40 pounds at the time of this post. Your body does not respond to refined sugar the way it responds to fat. They are not even comparable.0 -

I think I understand where the OP is coming from. You have people who will cut fruits, etc because they are bad. HOWEVER, will eat bacon, olive oil, etc, and think those foods are healthy. Since, they believe they are healthy, they will OVER CONSUME in those foods and gain weight.
What matters at the end of the day is macro distribution and most importantly over all caloric intake.0 -
Dunning Kruger would have a field day with the OP0

It's actually your responsibility to actually know the definitions of the words you use. Pretty sure if I look up "health food" it's not going to say "foods absent dairy or olive oil."0 -
You guys have to try my olive milk recipe. Blend a few kalamata olives with hole milk, top off with liquid cheese. So yum0

I limit fruits, but eat bacon and olive oil on purpose. I'm not stupid - I don't overeat on calories. To me and my metabolic issues macronutrients are equally important to calorie counts. Over-consuming any food - (even vegan food) will cause weight gain so why are we even *****ing about this? It's one of the few things people here actually agree on for the most part.
Why do we pick on the bacon eaters on this?0 -

this was more of a mental exercise for you. i know what health means and i felt that perhaps you would benefit from looking it up yourself to see how far off base you are.
let me ask you this... are the dietary fats found in olive oil healthy? because if they are, wouldn't that by definition make olive oil a health food?
here's a hint... they are and it is, based on any real definition of the word "health".0 -
No, i just googled it, and it said:
"health food
noun
1.
natural food that is thought to have health-giving qualities."
Which is pretty much what i had defined it as.0 -
You realise your body only sees the chemical composition and nutrient profile of your foods and doesn't give a **** whether or not they're "processed'"refined" or "concentrated"?0

if your body needs dietary fat to promote cell growth (and other things) and olive oil is a suitable source of such fats, then by definition olive oil promotes body health and is very much a "health food".0 -
So many fruits in this thread.
fruit loops are healthy, btw. Google it0 -
