It goes hand in hand! I feel diet/food intake is 70% of it!

U can't have one without the other and can't outwork a " bad diet"! (Without getting too Indepth of "bad"!

-It's like having cereal with no milk
    -Ham-no burger

    Gotta focus on both!

Have a very Merry Christmas! ???????? Shan

Oh great. Misogyny too. That kind of talk will get your butt kicked from one end of the site to the other. And there'll be no need for White Knights, either - the ladies of MFP are more than capable of looking after themselves.

Really, really looking forward to this.

lolling my big booty off at this observation. well said, and so accurate. brb...popcorn and pantiliners.

I was just about to ask that. From what I've read so far, #3 & #4 seem to fit the bill.

We get it...you go to the gym and put in a good 60 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. Exercise is such a small % of our day...eating is a much larger percentage. This is why I consider NUTRITION more important than exercise for most people.

Share some of your thoughts on this matter!

    My thoughts...

It depends on what your end goals are.

For those who are only concerned with weight loss I agree that what you eat should be your primary concern. There is however some of us that have other goals and needs.

For me the fitness part plays a major role...what I eat encourages the fitness...and...the fitness encourages me to eat better.

I also have some health issues that depend not only in me losing the weight but increasing my strength and agility.

While the exercise might not be #1 on my list...it is a close #2.

With the combination of weight loss through my diet and my workouts...I can now get up and down stairs without having to stop and rest...take long walks...and the list goes on and on.

Speaking only for myself...I could not be this far along without one or the other...they are dependent upon each other.

Why are you on here? Which one do you fall into? Nice way to insult your target audience of people you want to impart your knowledge to.

Hahaha gosh you gals are rough. Too much estrogen in this room. I'm established...just not on this website. I am here to offer help. Take it or leave it. I was referred here from one of my clients. Little did I know that its like this. No wonder more people are obese hahaha.

    LOLwut?

First, welcome to MFP. Settle in, read the forums, get a feel for the vibe here.

Second, if you do nothing else, please, for the love of all that is pure and holy, when quoting another post, please add your response BELOW. Nothing breaks the flow of dialogue like top-posting, especially in this forum where quotes are not identified by poster.

Third, if you're trying to sell something, and I'm not saying you are, but if you are, this will end very badly for you.

Yes this is most awesome quote method possible.

In my opinion you posted a very nice question; but I will tell you why you didn’t get any nice responses or ideas:
    1) No references to boobs, nudity or to any part of a male or female body.
    2) You didn’t clarify or ask if the exercise routine includes or should include squats, dead lifts or LIFT HEAVY.
    3) You didn’t argue or ask about eating back exercise calories, eating more or less than 1200 calories, TDEE, BMI, VO, etc.
    4) Your question about diet didn’t bash any Paleo, vegan, vegetarian, low carb, no sugar, clean eating or junk food.
    5) Above all, your posting didn’t include one of those funny looking cartoons
    6) Bottom line is that unless you start a controversial threat about any of the above subjects, you will not get too many nice responses.
So, and to answer your question, yes, my nutrition/calories/macros are very important and crucial for my health and to keep my weight under control. I exercise to keep my fitness and because I love to exercise, not because I want to eat more. So let the good times, discussion and controversy roll….

He didn't ask a question, he made a statement which is so blindingly obvious to most people on a food-logging website, it invites ridicule.

That and the arrogance that he knows the answers, so come ask him.

For those waiting for me to reply correctly to a post...here you go.

Holly, thank you so much for your words of wisdom. However, I like all responses! Both negative and postive. It's interesting to see this happen.

Also, Holly, I'm glad you came out with your reply to this topic. Wasn't that bad huh?

The non-quote. The biggest puzzle of all.

It has definitely kept me entertained during my lunch hour, if nothing else. But only because the cool people came on here and made it so. Shrug.

You can put words anywhere you want to. Nobody gonna cramp yo style!

    You forgot a few:

People who used to be obese but are now fit.
People who are still obese but have changed their lives around somehow w/out your help.
People who are fit who want to bulk/cut because they be badass lifters.
Speed/distance runners (or other athletes) who want to track their intake as they train.

I would be interested in the demographics (coz nerd) but I would bet that more than 50% of the people on here are women.

No doubt. I was trying to post in the most neutral way possible so you all WOULDN'T HAVE STUFF TO PICK APART.

    ...and, fail.

Just after he claimed to have trained over 1000 people.

    This:
Do you honestly believe that people here have been sitting around with their thumbs up their backsides waiting for you to educate them? Arrogant.

    And this:
...if you're trying to sell something, and I'm not saying you are, but if you are, this will end very badly for you.

Also, smart move, removing your profile picture. What if one of your clients sees your rude comments here, OP?

I stand corrected on my first thoughts. I began writing my reply before seeing that Original Poster was looking for something other than what I thought he was.
It appears now that he might be looking for "clients." The post here is a good way NOT to find "clients," if he is looking for people to buy weight loss products. Of course that assumption is a leap as well on my part. The "clients" he referred to in one of his many replies (in proper quote form or not) may be clients in his law practice, his business consultation agency, his advertising agency or a multitude of other businesses with clients.
I think I will take my well-meaninged response defending the Original Poster and go stand in the corner.
But not the "gym rat" corner, or the "troll" corner, or the "quote police" corner. Those appear full. Maybe in the "snarky" corner?
