@skinnyjeans - Sometimes it's all we can do to just make it through the week. I hope this week will be better and that you enjoy your spa visit. Sounds like heaven.

@robin - Sorry the neurologist didn't have any answers. Hopefully the MRI will answer your questions and you'll be on your way to recovery.

@mel - Congrats on the success! Hope this week is as successful.

@nettie - What a wonderful post and full of great wisdom. I hope the newbies read it and incorporate your suggestions into their journeys.

@hansea - Funny you brought up corn vs. broccoli. My DH (who was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes) believed that eating corn was A okay and didn't understand why I never made it. He was stunned to hear that the carbs in corn make it akin to bread and pasta. I wish my DH would get a nutritionist...... Hey wait, his birthday is coming.......

@charlotte - Hope you feel better soon.

@hayley - I too have foods that I dare not buy. I think we all probably do. At least you know what one of yours is and can avoid it in future. Don't sweat a bad day. Just move on. You can't fail unless you quit.

AFM - It's been a good weekend. Didn't have too much on my plate which rarely happens and is so nice. I'm looking forward to a day off tomorrow, but not to having my yearly physical. Not expecting any issues, but I'd much rather sleep in than go to the doctor. Perhaps I'll treat myself to a long walk and an afternoon nap to make up for it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and successful week!

Good morning. I hope everyone is enjoying a nice leisurley Sunday morning/afternoon. Things are moving slowly in our household today. The two kiddos who still live at home had a game night with their friends last night and so arent really up and moving around yet so far today. I slept in a little late for me and then read for awhile before taking the doggies for a walk. Our walk was cut short by one lap though as there were a couple guys in the neighborhood I didnt recognize and they were behaving strangley enough to make me nervous so the dogs and I went home. I woke my son and he walked around outside for a bit but he didnt see them. Oh well better safe then sorry. My momma didnt raise no dummy:laugh: Being as we are from the Seattle area our whole afternoon will of course revolve around the game between the Seahawks and the 49ers today. The guys are all getting together to watch and I will listen to it in the background while I read or mess around on the computer. Up side I wont have to cook dinner. Down side none of the snacks I made have any real nutritional value.

Karen I just recently got the samsung galaxy tab3 but it is more like your Husbands kindle and though I love it probably not what you are looking for.

Nettie I loved the list you posted for people starting this journey. You raised some very valuable points we should all try to remember.

Hayley I just wanted to extend my deepest condolences on your loss. I lost my final grandparent just over a year ago and was an extremely hard time for me. My heart goes out to you and your family right now.

Robin I am happy you got in to see the dr and they are activley persuing an investigation to the cause of your troubles. I hope they figure out something soon and get you all fixed up.

AFM: I had a great week exercise wise and a soso week for food so we shall wait and see what the scale gods have to day tomorrow. I hope you all have a great day and enjoy whats left of the weekend:flowerforyou:  :drinker:

    Todays Workout per HRM:

Sunday Share: I was never overweight until I met my second husband (about 12 years ago). He's tall and thin and used to keep small chocolate bars in his briefcase for snacking, in case he got hungry. Now, that's fine for him. He has a sweet tooth. I never really had one before I met him and I was about 100 lbs. lighter too. He LOVES Cost co. I think we've been buying dangerously large portions of food, and I've been eating most of it. He has a fairly small appetite.
Now about me: IF it's there in my kitchen, I will eat it. So, you can see what's happened slowly over the last 12 years....I"ve gained a ton of weight and hubby hasn't gained anything. I'm 5'2". He's 6' tall.
Recently, I've decided that I won't buy certain food items at Costco that I used to buy. Some things are too good a bargain to pass up, but I"ve kind of put my foot down on the 'huge' boxes of cookies, etc. I'm shopping more often, for smaller portions at the regular grocery store. This strategy seems to be helping me. Now, I'm writing this with my tongue stuck firmly in my cheek, but there's some truth to it.

SUNDAY SHARE: I'm Robin - I started this thread in Aug. 2010 and its been a great help to me to find friends and help us all lose weight and also learn about the journey that comes with KEEPING weigh off.

I am a 62 year old, retired, divorced, childless lady living in Omaha, NE in a 2 bdrm condo with a tiny deck. I have been sick for the past 3 months with a mystery illness that has made me quite a homebody - so I have come to appreciate the decor of my condor a bit more than when I first laid paint to it when I moved in a year ago. The living room is painted in palamino colored walls with white baseboards, I have a pale blue "humpback" sofa and blue accents throughout - I sit in a white recliner always covered with a drape of white fleece and my laptop is always at its side. Then the spare bedroom is a complete turn-around: its "my" room - there's my Sherlock Holmes-type bureau desk and overstuffed dark green velvet chair and lamp in one corner where I read the newspaper in the evening - another area holds my weights on a turkish rug, and my haplass, unused sewing machine holds down another corner. My bedroom is dark colors - adobe rust walls, red bedding and lamp shades, very well suited for sleeping!

Thanks everyone for your well-wishes after my Drs visit. Its turning into a soap -opera kind of thing. I'll try to dial the drama down!

Haley - my sympathies on your loss. Its a very hard thing to go through - she'll always be in your heart. Don't be afraid to "talk" to her when you want to.

Charlotte - sorry to hear you had been sick. And what a story to tell about all the fractures in your hospital - wow! Thats plenty!

Kaye - glad to hear you are doing well. Your new project sounds lovely, but difficult. Glad to hear DD and friend are now on MFP. You're quite an influence!

JNettie - I loved your list of advice to the newbies several pages back. I love that this thread has enough really smart and caring people like you that it can stand alone and make a difference in people lives!

Haley - its been a tough time for you, remember what you have just been through. Relax and breathe. Do it again. There. Things will settle back into order in your life soon. Just keep trying like your doing. Your really doing fine with the efforts your making because you are moving forward - you really are!

Hansea - it looks like your well on your way to catching up to that 40 lbs lost before, and this time you'll go past that! Its a shame you have to work so many hours - I hope that changes for you this year too!

DebbieZag - you talked about finding a work out you could do inside (I hate working out side too and I can't afford a gym) I had the best success by starting off by lifting weights in a spare room in my home, started with 3 lb, then 5 lb, then 10 lb, then 15 lb, doing just squats and overhead pressess and it really reshaped by body and made me quite strong - especially the squats, which gave me incrediblyy strong legs. I progressed from not being able to do 1 squat to doing a Goblet Squat holding a 15 lb dumbell in about 2 -1/2 months and I loved how I felt as the changes came over me. Might be something to consider....

    machbeth - Hi!!!!!

LivestoTravel - good luck with your physical tomorrow. Maybe wear a temporary tattoo somwhere and give him a surprise!

jtconst - hope your day stays calm and quiet and the scale gods are good to you tomorrow!

MelwillbeH - I think your Costco story is funny, but truthful too, when we have an eating disorder its something where we have a compulsion to FINISH something - to empty it out, for some of us. I'm that way. If I have 3 cookies in my house or 20 cookies, my goal is to eat them ALL. My choices are to either only buy what I can use immediately, or hide the devil cookies deeply out of site somewhere in my house so I don't eat them all - but that too hard for me. I'd rather not tempt myself like that. So I'm WITH YOU!

It is hard to believe that I have doing this for 1100 days. The last 3 years I have learned a lot about losing weight and maintaining the loss. It is time for me to start losing again but it will come. During this time, I have learned to enjoy exercise and use it to my advantage in reducing stress and frustration. I actually look forward to working out after work.

Today, was a busy day that involved cleaning out the sock and underwear drawers. Those pesky odd socks are so annoying. I ended up throwing some of them away and the others will be kept until I make sure I have gone through all the potential hiding places for strays. The outdoor Christmas decorations came down today (finally) since it was nice outside and are put away. Then I went shopping. Found a new sweat suit and jacket that will be great for bike riding and doing stuff outside in the early spring. Also, brought a new pair of pants since my old ones were looking very baggy. Ended the errands with a trip to the grocery store. A busy day and I just did not feel like going to the gym so today became a rest day.

Hi Macbeth- Good to see you popping in for a quick visit.

    Exercise plans
    Sunday- Rest day
Monday- Bike Ride (maybe weather dependent) and trainer workout Endurance run or drill
    Tuesday- Gym
Wednesday- Trainer workout Endurance run or drills
    Thursday- Rest
    Friday- Climbing
    Saturday-Swim and water aerobics

Laurie, your dedication and persistence are inspiring.
Charlotte, sorry you have been ill.
Debbie, have you checked our some of the YouTube videos for exercises? Walking is my exercise of choice. When I can't get outside, I sometimes go to Leslie Sansone on YouTube. It is a good workout.
I have been spoiled by DD fixing Sunday dinner. She is sick today so made chili and sour dough biscuits. Unfortunately for me, I also made brownies. I haven't made any for a long time and I ate three! of them. :blushing: Fortunately, I haven't been very hungry today, so it didn't push me over, but oh, my.
Sunday share: I have been on MFP since September 2012 and with my friends here since shortly after I started. The people here have made all the difference. I am 69 years old, and have a large family who play a big part in my daily life. I have learned a lot about myself and about losing weight. I still would like to lose about 20 more pounds, but I'm content to take my time. I still have 0.5# of the 6# I gained over the holidays to get rid of.
To the newbies, this system works. Keep it simple. Log every day, stay at or under your goal, and get some exercise. I don't worry about all of the macros, and I don't forbid myself any food as long as I have the calories for it. Come here often to share your successes and frustrations.
    Onward and downward. Kaye

    Hey everyone!

Whew, it's been a busy weekend. I missed checking in a few times, and I've missed you guys! I stayed on track for my food except for yesterday . . . too much wine! I didn't make it to the gym this weekend, I just didn't have time. It was nice out today though, so I took my fur kid out on a walk. It was great to get out in the fresh air!

In many ways I'm not ready for the week to start, but I am ready for my steady schedule that I have during the week. Tomorrow my goal is to get to the gym and do some great cardio, then do the weight machines for my arms.

I will get some personals done here soon, until then, keep up the great work everyone!

OK - I did it - I logged every bite today - had to estimate a few calories but did log everything, and to my disappointment came in 1200 calories over goal. Way, way up there in calories. No wonder I've been having weight issues. I wonder if I can blame any of it on my health . Heck, I'm gonna - at least until I see the Dr again  I am going to keep logging and try to be a bit more responsible, but, as long as the physical condiitons remain the same, I'm afraid something has to be in my mouth. Will keep working on low calorie things.

    Good monday to all :)

Weekend recap: I took a few days off from the gym. Wasn't feeling it and trying to get my eating back under control are taking precedence. The guy I'm seeing and I went up to P.A. to the casino Saturday night. That was fun...first time in a Casino, and I was surprised at how fun the table games are. Yesterday, I went into a Heinens for the first time to visit the salad bar. Holy moly. It was amazing. I now wish there was one closer to where I live. We went over to his parents house, and while everyone had pizza and icecream cake...I had my salad. Although I did snag a small bite of his pizza. I was proud of myself for abstaining from binging. I KNOW I could've eaten a whole pizza for as good as it smelled, but I'm not to the point where I can eat those type of foods without triggering the urge to binge. Evan mentioned that he really wants to start eating more of the way I do, so I'm hoping I can pull him to the clean eating side as opposed to him pulling me to the dark side. He does support my journey, and he is on a similar one, but I think he eats more junk than he tells me. /SIGH. No weight change since last week, which is a bummer...but right now I'm still trying to figure out whether I really need to eat more or not. I wish this whole thing would just get easy. lol :) onward and upward my friends.

Robin: you're in a tough situation. If I'm ill or stressed, I want to eat too. Hang in there. I hope you get some answers soon.

Monday check-in: I'm very happy today as I FINALLY broke the barrier of my weight gain over Xmas. I gained around 6 lbs. and have lost it, plus one more. OMG it's good to see that ******** ticker finally move in a downward motion.

Kaye: I always smile when I see your 'onward and downward' signature.

Alupinsk: Men are predictable to me. There's a good chance, he will copy the way you eat if you are persistent. I was at a birthday party this weekend and I didn't eat any cake. I looked over at my tall, skinny hubby and he wasn't eating any either. He LOVES sweets. I asked him why and he said because I wasn't! (I told him to have a piece of cake). Since I've cut sugar and carbs down, I'm noticing that he is too. Go figure.

Monday Check in: Yippie! The scale moved. I was able to log in a 2 lb loss this morning.

This week I begin my final Gilad phase. After completing this phase I will do 3 weeks of his maintenance routine then move on to running and something else on the non-running days.

Here is my routine for the next 3 weeks:

    Phase 5 - Weeks 10, 11 & 12

Monday - Cardio Classic, Chest & Back and Abs

Tuesday - Cardio Strike and Hips, Thighs & Buns

Wednesday - Shoulders & Arms and Abs

Thursday - Cardio Blast and Chest & Back

Friday - Cardio Classic, Hips Thighs & Buns and Shoulders & Arms

Saturday - Cardio (Your Choice) and Abs

    Sunday - Rest

Hayley - You are still relatively new to this. Keep sticking with it. I had a lot of setbacks too in the beginning, my first time on here, until I figured out what does and does not work for me. Remember this journey is a learning experience. I find from time to time I need to sit back and reflect on my progress/ diary.
One suggestion I am going to give you is when you are going to eat things such as SunChips try taking out one portion then putting the rest of the bag away before starting to eat. It seems to me that you are mindlessly eating due to feelings you are having.
I also suggest you look at the cause of the feelings you are having. Then take it one step at a time change these feelings. For example if you are angry, frustrated and disgusted with what you are eating or how much you are eating give yourself a goal. Maybe eat 1 serving of chips instead of two. Then focus on your accomplishment. Tell yourself "I am proud of myself for....." The next day do it again. Once you are consistently successful add in another goal.
I agree with what hansea said. I think it is great that you are being honest with yourself and logging no matter how good or bad. It's a difficult thing to do. Hang in there and never give up. You CAN do this.

hansea - Water and portion sizes are big ones for me. I do so much better when I measure out my portions rather than estimating.

Debbiezag - YES YES YES. <jumps up and waves hand wildly> I can completely relate to what you said. I am obsessed with logging. When I am fixing dinner plates to serve I carefully measure out mine using the scale. I am not as accurate with Brian's plate but I will give him roughly the same amount of food. But I take it more as I am trying to get him to be more aware of how much he is eating and want him around for a long time. He usually jokes and says something along the lines of "You are giving me Nettie portions again."
I always am concerned about calories. If I am at someone's house I try to discretely look up the caloric information and log it without anyone noticing. Brian usually jokes with me about it and mumbles "How many calories is that?" "Did you log it? Make sure you log it." He does it in a caring supportive way not a nagging annoying way.
I have not gotten any criticism recently about not wanting to eat certain foods or portion sizes. This time around on MFP I decided not to tell many people in my personal life. My first time on here I did and I got a lot of criticism. The comments people make can be very annoying and have gotten under my skin. For example, Brian's family is notorious for discussing what you are and are not eating. If you say no thank you to something they turn it into a 10 minute back and forth discussion. His aunt will announce "Jeanette doesn't want any ......" Then his grandmother chimes in "Did you ask her if she wanted ....." (She is 99 and cannot hear very well) His aunt responds " Yes, she said she doesn't want any." Then his mother chimes in "Maybe she just wants a little bit." Aunt responds "I asked her and she said no." Then his grandmother chimes in "What is she on that diet? A little bit won't hurt." Then his mother chimes back in "OK. She DON'T want any. If she don't want it she don't want it." (Yes, his mother is not known to use proper grammar - it drives me nuts) And the conversation just goes on and on as if you are not there. It is ridiculous.
Other comments I have received are
Why are you eating that? Aren't you on a diet?
That's not going to help your diet if you eat that.
Oh she isn't going to eat that she is on a diet.
    That's not a diet food.
You better not eat too much, you are on a diet.
ARGH....it makes me insane. So this time around I decided just to do my own thing and not share any information with people. I only told Brian (obviously) and my 3 best friends. I opted not to say anything to our families as they typically are the source of the comments. In the long run I am much happier.

Lives2Travel - Good luck with your yearly! Enjoy your day off!

jtconst - You did the right thing by cutting your walk short. I would have done the same. I live on a dead end street, 2nd to last house. Granted I live in a really safe neighborhood but I always keep an eye out when I see that strange car drive slowly down the block and turn around in the dead end. Sadly, in today's world you just never know. :ohwell:

Mel - I am 5'2" tall and my husband is 6'2". We buy in bulk too. I don't have a problem with it though.

Robin - I love the color scheme in your condo. Especially in your living room. Sounds gorgeous. Thanks for the nice comment. I am proud of you for logging every bit of food!

Laurie - I saw your number the other day in my feed and was blown away by your commitment. You truly are an inspiration to me!

Good Morning. Not much to report. Sorry I didn't get by here yesterday, just a really busy day with the gym, grocery shopping and other running around.

@Laurie~Congrats on your 1,100 days of logging, great commitment. I’ll never reach that since I take to many vacations where I can’t access MFP!

@Karen~I’m leaning towards the new Kindle HDX, but the bigger one. The Kindle screen far surpasses other tablets for reading books, etc., which is why I’m leaning towards it – honestly, if it wasn’t for the screen I’d be getting an iPad. My mom just bought a Samsung Galaxy and loves it.

@Beth & Tina~Great to see you both pop in!

@Holly~Hope you feel better. The flu is rampant here, definitely get yourself to the doctor if you have a fever and other flu symptoms – people aren’t recovering without meds.

I will try and do more personals later.

    Exercise Goals:

    Monday~Gym, Elliptical
    Tuesday~None (late meeting)
    Wednesday~Gym, training session
    Thursday~Gym, racquetball with trainer
    Friday~Maybe rest day
    Saturday~Gym, running drills
    Sunday~Gym, training session

Hayley - don't give up...we all have those days and we are all here to support you.

As far as being scared, I am very scared - scared of failure, but then I look back at how far I've come and just think to myself, I'VE GOT THIS!

My weekend was pretty good. Spent a lot of time with my boys and then yesterday we had a family day since my hubby was off work. We went to see the movie "Walking With Dinosaurs". Has anyone else seen it? It was...well...interesting! The boys loved it though which I thought was even more interesting!

This thread is moving so fast these days that it's really hard to keep up. It's awesome posts tho and I don't want to miss any of them. Congrats to us all and keep on keeping on

Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I was so slacking on responses last week! I'm going to try to check in more often to keep myself accountable.

@kah – Thanks for the suggestions re: elliptical and treadmill! I’m going to try to start using the treadmill at my parents’ house a couple times a week, and the hubs and I are looking for a reasonably priced gym in the area.

@JNettie – Thanks, I like the pictures on my tracker too! I hate smiling for cameras, so I end up making ridiculous faces instead. The curse of a character actress. LOL

    Monday Check In:
Had a bumpy, rough, patchy start getting back into tracking last week, but had a long emotional talk with Cameron (the husband) last night and hopefully his help will make it easier. It’s hard for me to ask for help, because I’m otherwise a very independent person, but I really struggle with food / emotional eating / etc, so it will help to have another set of eyes keeping me honest. I’m the worst at home; at work, as long as I avoid the cafeteria, I’m able to stick to whatever fruits, vegs and healthy lunch I brought with me, but at home, it’s easy to snack my way through the evening, or eat too much at dinner. I had gotten much better about this when I first started my weight loss journey in 2010, but after my back injury, I really let everything go. So, I can see that it will be a long road ahead of me, but I feel I have good motivation this time, instead of just trying to lose to appease my acting professors’ opinions that actresses should all always be on a diet.

Today I’ve been really good so far about logging and avoiding the many temptations in the office (so far today, said NO to donuts, pretzels & beer dip, free soda, a friend's leftovers of my favorite chinese takeout dish), so I’m pleased so far about that.

Replacing our bathroom scale, so I should be able to get an accurate weigh-in before the end of the week. Not super excited about that, though I know it's important.

Planning tonight to start using an exercise video I recently ordered. It looks pretty low-intensity, so hopefully it will be gentle on my back. Fingers crossed!

Hi everyone! I had a really great weekend, but I missed you all. :flowerforyou:

Thanks for all of the feedback about tablets. Still not sure what I will get--I just need to go shopping and check them out in person.

@holly--so sorry you are sick--feel better! :flowerforyou:

@mel--congrats on breaking past the holiday gain! :drinker:

@hayley--you did NOT offend me at all with the math comment! I make fun of my own poor math skills all the time, and my post was meant to agree with what you posted about being bad at math b/c you were an English major, so no worries.

@alupinsk--sounds like a great weekend at the casino--I've only ever been while on vacation in Vegas or the Caribbean. We have a few in Chicagoland, but I've just never gotten around to going. I know what you mean about getting pulled to the "dark side" of eating. My husband doesn't eat a lot of typical "junk food," and he doesn't even like sweets. However, he is the cook in our household, and he really goes for the "comfort foods" which means lots of butter, etc. He also has a love affair with his deep fryer. He really did a good job of being more supportive with the meals he prepared when I first started this, but he's slipped back into old habits, and I haven't really spoken up about it. I think I'm going to need to talk to him about it--I know he'll get back on board if I just say something.

@tina & beth--so good to see you back--I've missed you guys!! :flowerforyou:

@robin--good for you for logging!! Your condo decor sounds lovely.

@lauren--that alcohol can be a killer! While up at my friend's this weekend, I know I did pretty good with food, but the drinks probably put me over. :ohwell:

@kaye--brownies are one of my big weaknesses. :blushing: Fortunately, my husband doesn't bake sweets very often, and I don't bake at all. Glad you are feeling better. :flowerforyou:

@laurie--Congrats on 1100 days! :drinker: That's awesome!! I broke my longest streak somewhere around 400 days b/c I was away on vacation and didn't have internet access. Since then I haven't really worried about missing a day here or there while out of town, etc., but it's so fun to see my friends on here who have managed to keep the logging streak going! I feel the same way about the variety or activities I like to do at the gym--I have trouble deciding between cardio machines. When the weather is nice it's even worse b/c I have to choose between running outside or going to the gym. I guess it's a good problem to have though. Hooray for the school year being (almost) half over! :drinker:

@tammy--I agree--better safe than sorry. I always feel pretty safe with gunner--he's pretty intimidating looking, and I'm confident he would die defending me. Even so, I will take a different route if something looks shady. Congrats to your Seahawks!! :drinker: I've already decided I will root for them come Superbowl Sunday. Sorry to any Broncos fans out there.

@debbie--I used to be so much more meticulous about logging throughout the day or even ahead of time, but I've sadly made it less of a priority. I still log everything, but often it's not until late in the day which makes it harder to plan for dinner or an evening snack. I really need to get back to being a bit more "obsessed" with it, as that was what helped me lose weight more consistently. I also used to view my calorie allowance like a bank account and often wouldn't want to "spend" my calories on something wasteful. I need to get back to that mindset as well. Like nettie, I didn't tell a lot of people I was trying to lose weight for all of the same reasons she listed.

@hayley, hansea, & mel--you guys were all talking about not keeping food in the house that might make you overeat. I'm the same way. When I first started MFP, I discovered I couldn't have frosted mini-wheats anywhere in the house. I would eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner--even as an evening snack--a box wouldn't last 3 days! After about a year of healthier eating, I bought a box and was proud that it lasted a whole week. Even so, I haven't bought a box since. Doritos are another food I can't seem to deny myself. However, I'm pretty good with those. I weigh out one serving and put the bag away. Occasionally, I'll go back for a 2nd, but rarely more that that.

@charlotte--sorry you were so sick, but glad you are now on the mend! :flowerforyou:

    Monday Check-in:
I had a really nice weekend in Lake Geneva. My friend and I went to dinner Saturday night at a new Italian place she's been wanting to try. We both ended up bringing home half of our meals which we ate for dinner Sunday night. We spent Sunday afternoon at the spa relaxing and swimming. I'm not a great swimmer, but did laps for about 20 minutes.

I got home about 9 this morning and took gunner for his walk b/c the temps are supposed to start dropping this afternoon. I'm going to spend the afternoon grading.

I've planned an ambitious workout schedule (compared to my past few weeks), so we'll see how well I do at sticking to it. The weather may not cooperate for the walks with gunner. However, I should be able to make it to the gym after work provided I'm not forgetting about any meetings.

@missmanda--we must have been posting at the same time earlier b/c I just saw your post about talking to your husband. It's great to have support at home. My DH is great, but I need to remind him that I'm not at my goal weight yet. I know he's probably already planning a superbowl menu of crap, so I'm going to suggest he make a crockpot of white chili. He loves to make chili, but the chicken version should be lower calories. I mentioned it once before and he seemed interested. What kind of acting do you do? Are you a stage actress? I have a really good friend who does improv (she went through Second City here in Chicago) and last year she wrote, directed, and acted in her own production. It only ran in some teensy theaters, but it was so great I'm hoping she gets more venues this year. I have ZERO acting ability--it seems so tough, so I have deep respect for the art.

AFM--well I finished the tone test corrections and got all of those grades updated. Still avoiding the essays, but need to get them done by next monday. I will have a lot of time while the students are taking finals, so I will have no choice.

Now I'm off to the grocery store, then home for dinner.

Good afternoon. I saw my knee surgeon today. He says that my knee pain is being caused by inflammation of the soft tissue around my knees. He called it synivitis. I'm not sure about the spelling. Because of other health issues, I can't take anti-inflammatory drugs. He is prescribing a topical one. I should get it tomorrow. I sure hope that it works.
This evening DD and I are going shopping. She needs to go to the fabric store and I need to pick up some new jeans. I got a pair of used ones in August and have worn them out. I don't expect to be able to get a smaller size. They are Lees, and fit very well, so I am going to look for the same thing.
Here's to great successful week for all of us. Onward and downward. Kaye
