NSV - Non Scale Victories

Fabulous thread!
I can totally relate to passing up food or leaving it on the plate because it just doesn't taste that good, or I really don't feel like it. What is with that? Is that how skinny people feel? All the time? If it is, then bring it on! Today I was really hungry and I walked past the burger joint, past the cafe with the chicken, mayo & cheese foccacias, past the sausage rolls and ended up buying a banana. Not because I was 'being good' but because that is actually what I wanted.
Weird, but good NSV :-)0 -
Recently I went to the grocery store and the checkout clerk said "Wow, you have lost a lot of weight." That was the first happy thing, then I went to Zellers, and the same thing happened.
To top it all off, I did a workout video last night that I could not get through in September!0 -
I fit into a pair of jeans that are a size smaller than I've been wearing for so long. I've been trying more veggies in the last 8 wks.0

Nice thread! Here is my NSV: I can actually jog for a longer period now and at higher speeds. I was pretty happy when I was able to get up to 5.3 mph on the treadmill!0
-
I can now wear a pair of khaki docker's size 8 that I couldn't get past my thighs. In fact, they are now too big in the leg and in the waist/lower ab area!0
-
i love to exercise now, my jeans aren't snug anymore actually they fall down a bit, i can say no to tempting foods and i stop eating when i'm full, i actually long to leave work to go run!0
-
I have always walked the treadmill at 3.4 mph being my top speed for a workout walk, everything above that was just awkward or really painful in my calves... last couple of times, after a warm up I've been pushing to 3.8. Not sure if my core can support me better, if my calves are finally loosening up and being stronger, or if my hamstrings and glutes are finally letting my stride lengthen ( most likely all three) but I love it! Especially with all my monthly mileage challenges it helps to be able to walk a little faster when I'm taking a break from jogging.0

My NSV has got to be walking and my knees not hurting, and not waking up during the night with my fingers and wrist hurting. It's amazing how for about 9 years now I have passed it off as carpal tunnel. But withing the 1st 20lbs down, they haven't hurt since. Wow what a feeling10

Knees not hurtin is great! One of my reasons for dropping weight was that my knees began protesting while walking stairs. Yesterday I did a 1.5 hours Taido training, which has a really low kamae position (your knees are supposed to be almost 90 degrees bent!) and I didn't feel it in my knees once! I was really pushing to do it properly too! That was the fist time! I guess my legs are finally getting stronger too! =D0

NSV...my bcbg size 6 party dress zipped up easily this week, which was my goal for mid december bc it didn't zip up before Halloween! But I think it is not as fitted as it should be, so needless to say I bought 2 more....one that fits perfectly and one that fits snugly. But...one is a women's 4 and the snug one is a junior's size 5 black cocktail dress. I don't think I fit in anything less than a juniors 9-11 in the past 10 years. Much better than a scale drop IMO! The little black dress is my new goal. 2 weeks left so I think this is doable, scale be darned0

That's gotta be a pretty good goal! Changes into a reward when you reach it!
Definitely more rewarding than a couple of stinking numbers on an aparatus..0 -
I got told at a judo tournament that there was no one for me to compete with because I am "too little"0
-
Today I am wearing a size smaller work pants! I spent too much of the day yesterday pulling up the old size0
-
Twice now I have had to shorten my HRM strap.0
-
I got to put on smaller scrubs at work today.:happy:0

I've got an *kitten*!
Not just a crack at the end of my back. A real *kitten*!0 -
i didnt overeat and made extremely wise choices this Thanksgiving! I even earned my pie by trail running in the morning
I did the same with Thanksgiving!! I didn't even need a measuring cup. I did also make a lower calorie apple pie and only had one slice!0 -
Just starting out, but I have logged for two weeks straight!0

We had an office meeting at work today and there is always a treat during the meeting. I'm always in line for a taste. Today it was a bag of malted chocolate milk balls, one of my favorites, and I turned it down. I really didn't want any. Later in my office I gave myself two fist pumps. )0

I went shopping yesterday and tried on a pair of size 16 jeans. I had a little room in them and thought...ya really think..
I got a pair of 14's and they fit! I done a lil happy dance in the middle of the store. I have no idea when was the last time I fit into a size 14...0 -
A friend of mine that I hadn't seen in months noticed my weight loss. It made my day and gave me even more reason to stay motivated! :happy:0

This just made me smile!0 -
I went to get a new skirt, grabbed large and medium skirts and went to try them on. Walked out with a small petite, and an extra small.... It may be vanity sizing, but I'll take it.0

NSV-- 1. I've been exercising and eating right for a month, now. (Dieting I never lasted that long:)
2. I made sugar free deserts for Thanksgiving meals, and then didn't even eat them.
3. My skirts, that were snug, now slide around:)
4. My children are making healthier food choices.
5. I wake up ready to exercise.
6. I didn't cringe when I saw the cameras coming out at Thanksgiving, I smiled, knowing that I'm changing my life, and I feel good about that, so why not smile for the camera:)0 -
i could barely eat a regular chicken tender meal from chicken express.. I use to be able to eat that plus a family fries and a family gravy ... now i barely finish the fries and a couple of tenders and i have to share the rest with my hubby or the dogs big for me because I have always done big big big portions0

My NVS is 2years ago my husband bought me my treadmill and stated that he hoped I would stick to using it. Well he is impressed because I use my treadmill 5 days a week for an average of 30 to 40 mins. Know my goal is to keep tracking what I eat on MFP. So far so good.

My NSV happened just a couple of days ago, came home and my hubby did a double take and told me that he could see that I have lost some weight.... YEA!!!!!0
-
My NSV, atleast for today is I ran to a full song on my IPOD. 3 Min and 42 seconds @ 5.0 speed. May not seem like alot to many, but for me at this point its a victory. Next goal: 5 minutes, after that 10 and then maybe a full mile. We shall see, but this in itself makes me happy.. Woohoo for NSV's!0
-
Although I am new and it's been about a month, I have exercised regularly for that time. I have not done that in over five years! I already feel my stamina returning with each session I do!0
