    Ok, I forced myself to walk today. Haven't been feeling 100% last few days. I was able to walk 1 1/2 miles at a 15% incline on the treadmill. Im good with that.

    You guys all seem to be off to a really good start. Good for you!

    Hello,

    Walked 2 miles with Leslie Today. Snow coming we are expecting about 2 - 4 inches.


    Off to watch Christmas Movies with the kids.

    Happy snow day Dawn! I wish we'd get just a little bit of snow here. Haven't had any for a few years now. I love Christmas movies.

    My favorite is It's a Wonderful LIfe. What does everyone else like?

    I didn't get in a walk today. I"ve had a headache for 2 days so went to the doc. Maybe an ear infection but they're not sure. Then I had a hair appt after work. But I am happy to say the last 2 pounds to reach 60 lbs down have finally gone. I waited until I had the same weight for 3 days before I claimed it, it's been a little over a month since I've had a loss and now 2 lbs at once! :bigsmile: It will probably come back (it usually does) but I know I'll be able to get it back down if it does. I"m not stopping though, I'd really like to lose about 10 more. I'd set my goal a little high because in the beginning I don't think I really believed I'd actually make it there. MFP and this group has kept me going.

    how do you calcute the calories burned from using the walking videos. I have the 1 and 2 mile dvd and would like the some other ones too, but would like ot konw how you calculate the calories burned. thanks

    mrsbuzz and anyone else--I count the dvds under "walking" at 4 mph. Most of her walks average out to that pace. You could also use 'low impact cardio' if you want--I think they work out the same. of course, if you have a HRM you would go by that.

    I got in3 miles today and got more walking done while shopping.

    Well today started the 1st of six 12 hour shifts (in a row) walked 3 miles at work, skipping the kettle bell workout tonight- my back has been bothering me for 3 weeks and thought I'd give it a break for 3 days...
    Just finished one mile with Plummy- total 4 miles today!

    Congrats to everyone getting their walks in today!

    Hi girls... No walk as of yet, dont think I'll make it today? But I did get in 2.75 miles last night on my stationary bike, more tonight.

    I got my 2 mile Big Burn in this afternoon. Feeling alot better today. Some months are worse than others, if ya know what I mean.:wink:

  • Well I am not sure what I did today, but no DVD's I clowned at a nursing home today, I just love it, I love to see their faces light up when I make a rose for them, The girls from our church did caroling and I did my napkin roses for them, but by the time I got my animals taken care of and then the nursing home and than had to take care of the neighbors horses also, I am tired but I wouldn't trade today for nothing...
    Tomorrow is my rest day so I will type at everyone Monday

    Well I had another successful day at work- 3miles there (plus 14 flights of stairs) 2 miles with Leslie (Fat Burning Walk-my fav) and another one with Plum!
    Total today= 6 miles
    Had to make up for not working out with the kettlebell (giving my back a rest for a few days).,.
    Shorter walk tomorrow.

    I hope everyone had a good weekend, I did! :smile: I'm happy to say I got a little Christmas shopping done finally.

    I Went to Wally world for groceries today and bought the Biggest Loser Power Walk DVD. I thought I'd try something new. It has 4 one mile workouts or you can play them all. I played them all. At first I didn't think I was going to like it but after sticking with it a bit it kind of grew on me. Mile 3 is pretty tough but I can actually do jumping jacks. I couldn't when I first started this trip. I think I"m going to have to invest in a smaller sports bra if I'm going to keep doing mile 3 though. :blushing:

    I also bought a kettle ball but haven't tried it yet. Eagle seems to like it so I thought I'd give it a try.

    Alice, every mile counts and some days are better than others. Sounds like you needed a rest so don't be too hard on yourself.

    Well it was my intention to have a day of rest, but I was sooooo hungry today so I did 2 miles at work. Now it's late and cold, only took Plummy around the building (poor Plum).



    Ooooooo, Sandy- I too like It's a Wonderful Life, but I think my fav is Holiday Inn-the singing , the dancing, just alot of fun!
    Congrats on starting the biggest looser dvd- I understand it's a lot more demanding! And happy swinging with the kettlebell- Patti 's been at it too!

    I just lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks from counting calories & working out with Leslie Sansone DVD's.
    My goal is to get down to 125 - 130 pounds:bigsmile:
    I want to walk 75 miles this month. How do I get the ticker for milage walked ?
  • Well got 3 miles in this morning before my doctors appt.............. and that darn doctor put me on predizone...... YUK!!!!!!! So much for any weight lose this week. but at least I will feel better after 5 days of the crap..

    Welcome to the group both Teresa's! Glad you found us. This is a great group for support and friendship.

    Its cold in Georgia today so I didn't walk today. I know some of you live in much colder areas so don't go calling me wimpy! :laugh: I should have walked as soon as I got home because once I start cooking I just lose all my motivation. I wont get to walk tomorrow either. My son's school Christmas concert is tomorrow night so I'll really be late getting home.

    I was very hungry today, so I walked twice- 3 miles at work and 2 miles with Leslie"s 5 Day Slim Down (did #5 twice).

    Oye- Sandra, your not kidding about the cold- even colder tomorrow, no fun without the snow (on a day off:laugh: ).

    Well, I've been slacking/under the weather, but keep trying to add some miles - one step at a time. I did 4 yesterday and will do 3 today.

    Sandy: It's cold up here in NC and the heat in our office seems to be wonky. Thought I was going to have frostbitten fingers if I didn't wear gloves - made typing kinda difficult :laugh: As a yankee transplant, I keep telling my co-workers that I thought I was in "The South," but they keep telling me that I'm in the "northern South." Can anyone explain that?

    Congrats to everyone for all your progress and a belated welcome to all the new folks joining in.

    I have been having a tough time staying on track. I've not been drinking enough water and I really think that is a HUGE part of the problem so--I am going to get in 100 ounces today and every day and see if that helps.

    I got in 3 miles yesterday and so far have 2 of the 5 Fat Burning miles done--I am going to finish the video in a minute.

    It's rainy and gray here today so after I finish my workout I am going to get some cheery Christmas music going and work on my Christmas projects. If I keep my hands and mind busy I will be less likely to eat, right?

    Wow, really having a hard time so far this month! I got in 2 miles today after taking 2 days off AGAIN. Don't know what my problem is right now.

    I finished the 5 Fat Burning miles but haven't gotten much else done.

    My grandson is teething and is miserable right now. I swear he is getting about 5 teeth all at once, poor guy! I ended up rocking him until the Tylenol kicked in. He just wants to be held.

    Hi Everyone!
    The Weather here in Florida is perfect, except when your standing in the shade ( sweater needed ). I'm doing okay so far, since I'm newly into this, But I know my struggles are coming soon :frown: . Thats why I put my food diary out there for other's to read, to keep me on track & hopefully it will keep me going with eating right & exercising.
